We present a multi-adaptive OFDM-based BVT controlled with YANG/NETCONF by an autonomic SDN controller for fully disaggregated SDM/WDM fronthaul networks. The autonomic SDN controller deploys a control loop that monitors the persubcarrier SNR and computes the optimal constellation based on the actual signal degradation.

Fibre-optic transceivers based on nonlinear Fourier transforms approximate the link by a lossless path-average model. We propose a new method that identifies a suitable lossless model from time-domain input-output data when fibre parameters are unknown. No special training signals are needed.

The impact of intercore skew on joint-core carrier-phase estimation in multicore-fiber transmission is studied. It is shown that the performance degradation is not dependent on the combined linewidth of the light-source laser and the local oscillator, but rather the ratio between the two linewidths.

Reduced footprint multiplane light propagation mode multiplexers 减少占用多平面光传播模式多路复用器

We design, assemble and characterize three different multiplane light propagation (MPLC)-based mode multiplexers, including a device with reduced size, supporting 45, 45 and 36 spatial modes, respectively. Ranging from 2700 mm3 to 146 mm3, all devices achieve <-12 dB cross talk, showing that MPLC can enable compact multiplexers.
