Introduction: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare autoimmune demyelinating disease. Symptoms vary widely and commonly include ascending bilateral weakness, pain and hyporeflexia. Approximately 30% will develop respiratory failure contributing to the high morbidity and mortality. Advancements in diagnostic and treatment have greatly decreased mortality to now less than 10%. However, GBS is still often misdiagnosed, thus delaying care.

Scientific works on the determination of somatic sex on the basis of the skull, conducted and published in our country and abroad, are analyzed and presented. In the process of cranioscopic research, craniometric and cranioscopic approaches and the existing traditional and modern methods used for their implementation were considered. In the process of studying the head, work is carried out to determine the somatic sex. This is one of the most important issues in forensic science, anthropological and archaeological research, the scientific study of general problems of human variability. The study was conducted on the basis of MSKT imaging of the skull of 27 male and 20 female volunteers who had no congenital or acquired defects in the skull of an adult (over 18 years of age). The resulting images were examined by cranioscopic and craniometric methods using the IMA program. In cranioscopic studies, W.M. Krogman, G.Acsadi, J. Nemeskeri, and V.N. The advantages and disadvantages of Zvyagin methods are revealed. A. I. According to R. Martin and H. Welcker, who performed the craniometric method on the craniometric method of Bogdanov and a number of English craniologists, a comparative comparative analysis of the study was given in the modification. The authors note that the Center for Forensic Medicine has developed a craniological blank containing 79 types of head sizes. With this, it is possible to determine not only the sexual orientation of the head, but also the estimated age of the person. In conducting craniometric examinations in forensic practice. N. Zvyagin’s modification, which included 40 registered diagnostic signs described and registered, was further informative. Its efficiency was 93.5%.
Krogman, g.a acsadi, j.n Nemeskeri和V.N.

Carried out the retrospective analysis 52 children, ill nefrolitiasis of etiology hyperparathyroidism. By purpose showed up to study degree demineralization bony cloth as to forms primary hyperparathyroidism at children. The studies of the activity of alkalized phosphatase and ehoosteometrii will lend possibility to appreciate degree demineralization bony cloth and accordingly diferation PGPT as to forms and the weights of disease. Hyperparathyroidism contributes development demineralization the bony cloth of various intensity which is connected by physical charge on bonus cloth. Indicators characterizing bony changes in stone disease of etiology hyperparathyroidism were more at children in miscellaneous form PGPT and accordingly high indicators are noted at children with the disorder of the function of buds and had direct relationship with quantity and size of formed stone and osteoporosis of bones.

The aim of this study was to determine whether preoperative depressive symptoms can affect the quality of life (QoL) after middle ear surgery in patients with chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM). This study was conducted on 80 patients with CSOM, who were operated on for CSOM, in the preliminary and postoperative period who completed the specific COMOT-15 questionnaire and the PHQ-D depression questionnaire. After surgical treatment of CSOM, total COMOT-15 score improved significantly (p <0.001). The data of patients without depressive symptoms were significantly better when questioned according to COMOT-15 (P <0.01) after surgery, while the depressive state showed significantly low results (p <0.001). Preoperative depression is a significant predictive factor for QoL in patients with CSOM. This should be considered during patient selection in order to provide more appropriate preoperative counseling.

Dermatology education and clinical experience in a community hospital internal medicine residency program

Abstract Dermatology education has been shown to be lacking in many primary care residency programs. We identified the lack of dermatology education as a gap in our internal medicine residency program in the annual program evaluation in 2017. A Needs Assessment identified the lack of a clinical experience in evaluating and treating skin disorders as our largest deficit. A team of associate program directors, faculty, and residents identified three objectives for the implementation of a dermatology curriculum for our program. We identified the development of didactic education, a procedural skills workshop and a clinical experience as our main objectives. The didactic education was adapted from the Basic Dermatology Curriculum from the American Academy of Dermatology. A procedural skills workshop on skin biopsy and cryosurgery was instituted as part of our routine teaching block and held in the simulation center. For the clinical experience, we began a “skin clinic” as part of our residency program continuity clinic. We have outlined the methods used to institute these changes and discussed several barriers which were encountered in our process. In conclusion, we assess our project to have been successful and encourage other programs to consider our framework for developing a dermatology curriculum for their primary care residency programs.
