A population resource center was established by Planned Parenthood of Minnesota and the Bush Foundation of St. Paul in order to provide students and the general public as well as related health and education professionals with thorough population and family planning information. The center has developed a collection of books, journals, audiovisual material, vertical file material, and various types of pamphlets for distribution. Additionally, the resource center has already established education programs to guarantee than an awareness of the center's existence spreads to those who are most in need. On the basis of the experience gathered in establishing this population-family planning resource center, it is recommended that planning for such a center be done in coordination with the organizations and professionals that it hopes to reach and whose clientele it hopes to share. It is also recommended that at least 1 person should be assigned to the project full-time in order to keep the center active and functioning and to make sure the facilities get maximum use.
