Intellectual Corruption in Modern Science: A Case Study
Pub Date : 2019-03-28 DOI: 10.31579/2642-973x/006
James F. Welles
A reviewer of a book I wrote claimed an idea presented therein could be found elsewhere. Nine years later, no one could say where, but no one would correct the erroneous claim, so what be-gan as an effort to obtain a redress of a legitimate grievance slowly degenerated into a tour d’farce of a surreal ethics warp in our intellectual community. The citations submitted to docu-ment the claim failed to do so, and the file on the dispute maintained by the American Psychological Association (APA) really is not about my case at all. The University of Connecticut (UConn) and the American Association for the Advancement of Sci-ence (AAAS) failed to hold anyone accountable. There was a basic conflict between the conduct of officials of all these organiza-tions and their ethical codes. In a culture of intellectual cor-ruption, behavior consisted of a pervasive and extended cover-up characterized by sophistry, secrecy, fantasy, irrelevance, ra-tionalization, misattribution, misrepresentation, fabrication, falsification, failure to communicate and an adamant refusal to deal logically and fairly with the facts of the case. This demon-strated a complete lack of cognitive integrity and constituted a total betrayal of the academic/scientific commitment to truth.

The paper reflects an image of Alzheimer's disorders in Asia as the largest continent of the world. Asia with increasing life expectancy and elderly people is facing Alzheimer's disorders within the emerging aging people leaving behind various issues. Aging in Asia is also in parallel with poverty and health deficiency. Many parts of Asia is getting aged before becoming rich. Spread of Alzheimer's disorders while needing more and additional capital to invest, is in low position. Under such circumstances, the countries of the region need new paradigms and policies to combat the emerging Alzheimer's within the aging cohorts. Aging as a new phase of life needs new strategies to put into effect, to take care of those involved with Alzheimer's disorders. Aging as a new part of life needs more scientific study, and the practice of plans to modify the issue.

Background/Aim: Cannabinoids are widely used in the management of pain, nausea and cachexia in cancer patients. However, there has been no objective clinical evidence of any anticancer activity yet. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of Pharmaceutical-Grade Synthetic Cannabidiol on a range of Brain Tumours Patients and Methods: We analysed the data routinely collected as part of our treatment program in 11 Brain Cancer patients over a fouryear period. Results: Clinical responses were seen in all of these 11 patients, including a reduction in tumour size, as shown by repeat scans. There were no side effects of any kind observed when using Pharmaceutical-Grade Synthetic Cannabidiol. Pharmaceutical-Grade Synthetic Cannabidiol was supplied by STI Pharmaceuticals. Conclusion: Pharmaceutical-Grade Synthetic Cannabidiol is a candidate for treating glioma patients.
