Objective To explore the effects of diary research-based communication pattern on migration stress of first-degree relatives of elderly patients transferred out of ICU. Methods Totally 86 elderly patients transferred out of ICU postoperatively at the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from October 2017 to April 2018 were selected by convenient sampling and divided into the control group (n=43, admitted between October and December 2017) and the observation group (n=43, admitted between January and April 2018) according to admission time. Patients in the control group underwent routine communication, while patients in the observation group conducted communication based on diary research. The migration stress levels of the first-degree relatives were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in migration stress levels between the first-degree relatives of the two groups before the intervention (P>0.05) . After the intervention, the level of migration stress of the first-degree relatives in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (t=3.598, P<0.01) . Conclusions The communication model based on diary research can effectively reduce the level of migration stress among the first-degree relatives of elderly patients who are transferred out of ICU postoperatively. Objective To explore the influencing factors of low carbohydrate diet (LCD) management compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) so as to provide a basis for improving diet compliance of patients. Methods From May to September 2019, we selected 16 T2DM patients participating in LCD project for three months in Department of Endocrinology of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University as interviewees by purposive sampling. The semi-structured interview was carried out for them, and Colaizzi analysis was used to interview data sorting and analysis. Results A total of two themes were extracted, the promoting factors and obstructing factors. The promoting factors included the perceived benefits, positive psychological effect, multiplex social support, strengthening diet and blood glucose management as well as operational diet plan; the obstructing factors involved the perceived no benefits, difference between diet knowledge and actual demand, diet habit facing a challenge, increasing social role stress, difficulty carrying out diet plan. Conclusions LCD management compliance of T2DM patients have many influencing factors. Patients, family members and medical staff should be paid attention to integrated management of LCD for diabetic patients in future. Objective To translate the Empathy for Pain Scale (EPS) and evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of EPS in medical students. Methods The items of the Chinese version of EPS were determined by translation, back-translation, semantic analysis, expert consultation and culture adaptation. From June to October 2018, this study selected 531 undergraduate students by convenience sampling to carry out questionnaire survey. Correlation analysis and critical ratio were used to the item analysis. Validity test was implemented with the content validity, construct validity and criterion-related validity; and internal consistency was tested with the Cronbach's α value and split-half reliability. Results The Chinese version of EPS had 12 items and two factors named as the body and mind discomfort reactions and empathy reactions with 69.059% for the total variance contribution. Content validity of items ranged from 0.83 to 1.00, and the total content validity was 0.94. The total score of the Chinese version of EPS had a positive correlation with the score of the interpersonal reactivity index (IRI-C) (r=0.370, P< 0.01) . The Cronbach's α value of the scale was 0.914; Cronbach's α values of two dimensions, the body and mind discomfort reactions and empathy reactions, were 0.935 and 0.775 respectively. The split-half reliability of the scale was 0.896. Conclusions The Chinese version of EPS has four scenes and two dimensions as well as a good reliability and validity which could be used to evaluate the level of empathy for pain among medical students in China. Objective To explore the consistency of patients with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (HL) and their families' perception of advance directives (Ads) and analyze the influencing factors to their perception of Ads. Methods Totally 107 HL patients admitted in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2017 to December 2018 and 107 corresponding families were selected using convenient sampling. The demographic information of the patients and families as well as the clinical characteristics of the patients were collected. Kappa test was employed to analyze the consistency of the HL patients and their families' perception of Ads. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to analyze the influencing factors to their perception of Ads. Results Totally 66.36% (71/107) of the HL patients were willing to formulate Ads, higher than 46.72% (50/107) , the proportion of family members who could comply with the Ads willingness of patients, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=8.387, P=0.004) . The Kappa value was 0.222, and the consistency of Ads perception among the HL patients and their families was poor. Logistic regression analysis revealed that age, religious belief, bereavement experience, systemic symptoms, and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Performance Status were influencing factors for the HL patients to formulate Ads willingness, while religious belief and bereavement experience were influencing factors for the families to follow the patients' Ads willingness. Conclusions There is a difference in the perception of Ads between HL patients and their families, and the selection of Ads by family members cannot fully represent the patients themselves; religious beliefs and bereavement experience are common factors affecting the perception of Ads in HL patients and their families.
