: The development of Chinese traditional culture has a long history, profound cultural connotation and rich content. In China’s rich traditional culture, Chinese figure portraits are also very elegant. Of course, the influence of traditional ink and modeling on Chinese figure portraits is far-reaching and lasting. With the rapid progress of society and the rapid development of culture, the traditional painting and modeling also began to transform with the development of culture. With its transformation, the development direction of Chinese figure portraits also changed, from ethereal to reality, paying more attention to realism and sketching. : With the steady development of China’s economy, there is still a big gap for high-quality skilled design talents. Based on the practice of training design professionals in applied technology universities, this paper seeks a new way out for training design professionals in application and technology oriented universities. Firstly, this paper analyzes the connotation of talent cultivation for design majors in application and technology oriented universities. Secondly, it analyzes the existing problems, such as weak practical teaching in schools, lagging curriculum system construction, further exploration of school-enterprise cooperation, and lack of high-quality teaching staff for design majors. Finally, it establishes the train of thought for the design major talents in application and technology oriented universities, further optimizes the curriculum system from the aspects of improving the quality of practical teaching in schools, constructs a perfect school-enterprise cooperation mechanism, and strengthens the training and construction of the teaching staff for the design major talents.

: This article aims at shedding light on people’s free will and religious belief in our modern life by His Dark Materials. The theme of His Dark Materials is complicated and profound, including Paradise Lost from John Milton and many philosophical thoughts from eastern and western and so on. Pullman has his own original ideas, not only rebel, but also inherit. He thinks the transformation from innocence to experience is the first step to true wise, which is different from Milton. It’s indispensable and wonderful. Also, there are some other aspects we need to pay attention. Pullman fully mobilizes his imagination in characterization, environmental setting, plot construction. and many proper fantastic elements to service his theme. Finally, the sublimation triggers the reflection of modern people’s free will.
