This study presents a bibliometric analysis of 267 papers published in 13 volumes (2007-2019) in COLLNET Journal of Scientometrics and Information Management (CJSIM). The analysis examines the chronological distribution of output and the geographical distribution of contributions, identified prolific institutions and prolific authors and examined their impact in terms of Citation per Paper (CPP) and Papers not Cited (PnC). Besides these, the study also examined the pattern of citations, identified highly cited papers, pattern of domestic and international collaboration. Findings of the study indicate that the growth of articles is inconsistent with highest number of papers published in the year 2014 and lowest in the year 2007. The output was scattered among 41 countries, of which 12 prolific countries contributed 80.8 % of the total output. Among the prolific 12 countries India ranked first with 31.8% of papers. Among the institutions, Dalian University of Technology (China) topped the list. Pattern of domestic and international collaboration indicates that 79 papers were published in domestic collaboration and 48 papers in international collaboration. Among all countries, India had the highest share of domestically collaborative papers and China had the highest number of internationally collaborative papers.

The main objectives at this research to network analysis and present the scientific map of the field of e-learning in Iran. The importance of this research is to identify emerging and prominent subject areas; and to identify and analyze the co-occurrence network of the e-learning in Iran based on the closeness and betweenness centrality measures. It is a scientometric research, using quantitative method and citation analysis. In order to draw a scientific map of e-learning research literature, the data were extracted from the Web of Science database within a specified time period. The retrieved records were formatted using WC10.exe conversion software, and were then mapped using VOSviewer software. The findings revealed a growing trend in the number of articles published in the field of e-learning, and this number increases on an annual basis. The most widely used subject areas in the field of e-learning were identified. High frequency keywords such as e-learning, education, technology, system and satisfaction are the newly emerging and active concepts in this field. Regarding the widely used subject areas in the field of e-learning, it was noted that the two areas of e-learning and education are ranked first and second as the most frequently used terms. The keywords “technology, system and satisfaction” are the other high frequency terms representing the newly emerging concepts in this field. The field of e-learning was mapped based on the closeness centrality measure and its findings revealed that topics such as learning, technology & system learning have the greatest impact on the map. In contrast, information technology, education technology and learning with the lowest centrality and the least impact.

This paper discusses the theoretical aspects of Bradford’s law, its implications in different subject areas, various implementation forms, and its relevance in the published Information Science literature. The study attempts to apply Bradford’s law and Leimkuhler model on Information Science literature to a total of 213 source items listed in the Scopus database during the study period of 2001 to 2020. A ranking table of journals and articles has been prepared to contain the cumulative count. In the first phase, the verbal formulation or the laws’ algebraic form is employed in the journal distribution pattern that depicts a very high percentage of error in the actual observation that does not comply with Bradford’s distribution. The Leimkuhler model’s application follows this after finding the Bradford multiplier (k) value, thereby estimating the number of journals in the core and the successive two zones (r 0, r 1, r 2). A minor percentage error of 0.0092357% has been observed, followed bythe graphical depiction of the data, i.e., “Bradford’s Bibliograph.” “Scientometrics” (39), “Bulletin of the Medical Library Association” (33), “Canadian Journal of Information and Library Science”(26 ) were found as the most preferred journals with the highest frequency.

In this article, we try to find out what Vasiliy Nalimov and Zinaida Mul’chenko exactly wrote in their famous book Naukometriya, the Study of the Development of Science as an Information Process (1969). Afterward, the term Naukometriya became known in the West as Scientometrics. It is often mentioned that Nalimov invented the term scientometrics, usually with reference to his book published in 1969. Shouldn’t Mul’chenko be mentioned as one of the inventors of this term? We show that referring to Naukometriya is a case of wrong reference, as Nalimov introduced the term already in 1966. We further place the term scientometrics in the context of the science of science and of Soviet science during that period.

Shouldn’t Mul’chenko be mentioned as one of the inventors of this term? We show that referring to Naukometriya is a case of wrong reference, as Nalimov introduced the term already in 1966. We further place the term scientometrics in the context of the science of science and of Soviet science during that period.","PeriodicalId":10501,"journal":{"name":"COLLNET Journal of Scientometrics and Information Management","volume":"15 1","pages":"213 - 224"},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/09737766.2021.1943042","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47588052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the future, early diagnosis of cancers may be performed using labon-a-chip devices. Yet, very little is known about the research obtained so far, who are the leading institutions, and how they collaborate. We address this gap by mapping the global research on early cancer diagnosis and labs-on-a-chip. Bibliometrics and network analysis were applied to analyze data of 301 articles collected in the Web of Science Core Collection, published between 2010 and 2020. The two most frequent tumor markers are the prostate-specific antigen and the carcinoembryonic antigen; the USA and China are the most relevant countries, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are the most publishing institutions; they also established the greatest research collaborations. This study identifies research trends on lab-on-a-chip for tumor marker identification, and the most publishing countries and institutions, which can be helpful to stakeholders working on this research topic.

This study aimed to evaluate the tendency of insomnia articles in SCI-EXPANDED database. Data was obtained from the online version of Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) database in the Web of Science Core Collection of Clarivate Analytics within the publication year from 1991 to 2018. The publications were assessed regarding their document types, languages, and journals. We used three citation indicators such as C 2018, TC 2018, and CPP 2018 to determine the citation received by publications. We used the Y-index method formulated by Ho. The study found 16,478 insomnia documents within 15 document types indexed in the Web of Science, and articles type was used most constituting 66% (10,801) of the documents. Ninety-five percent of the articles were published in English. The journal of Sleep published most of the insomnia article then followed by Sleep Medicine. The 30% of 10,801 articles were published in the top category of clinical neurology. The G7 countries published most of the insomnia articles. The most productive country and institution was United States and Harvard University respectively. The article entitled “A new method for measuring daytime sleepiness: The Epworth sleepiness scale” published by Johns in 1991was the most cited article with TC 2018 of 7,191 and C 2018 of 661 citations. The most industrious and had more potential to published insomnia articles was M.M. Ohayon. Moreover, the study showed that most of the insomnia articles were related to depression, anxiety, cancer, and schizophrenia. Insomnia is a serious problem with synergistic effects for normal body health. Bibliometric method can help researchers to have comprehensive knowledge on insomnia and initiate an orientation for further research so as to solve a problem. Furthermore, it may also help researchers to determine the impact of insomnia publications as well as to identify relevant research groups in the field of insomnia.
