Abstract: Calvin was not the first and only person who have preceded the doctrine of predestination, because in his writings he used much of Augustine’s argument to explain the problem of predestination. If predestination is often identified with Calvin it is because he provides a more comprehensive and complete explanation of this doctrine. Predestination is totally God’s deed that by His omniscience, He choose some people to be saved, not because of their good deeds. It talks about God’s ultimate decree about the salvation. In other word, predestination is God’s eternal deed, that by His sovereignty choosing some people to get the grace of salvation, by not counting their merits nor good deeds and some people had been decided to be punished because of their sins.

Abstract: The phrase "Christ as Prophet, priest and King" is familiar to our ears, perhaps even deep in the minds of every believer. Of course, our belief in the three roles of Christ is a divine function that allows God's word to be conveyed to the world, the substitution and redemption of human sin, and God's absolute rule. That means that the office of Christ as a Prophet, Priest, and King does not stop at Jesus alone, but has implications for ourselves as His people. In this paper, the topic discussed is about Jesus Christ as a true Priest. Why? not to neglect or separate the other two offices of Christ. but as an effort to explore the meaning of the office of Christ as a priest. Because there are still "Christians" who do not clearly understand the meaning of the three offices of Christ for the practice of world evangelism. Then how does this doctrine of Christology, which seems so transcendent, relate to the practical life of humans every day? How should this concept shape the practice of world evangelism? So it would be nice to discuss three office that are focused on each position. Abstract: The presence of sin effects extraordinarily to the human’s personality and the relationship to God. The sin radically changes the history, mission, and the purpose of human. The reality of sin brings the effect and the bad consequence to the human, so that the human willingly takes sides to sin and disobey to God’s commandment. Finally, the sin governs over the human. This is such a huge and deathly tragedy. The effect of sin is so deep and fatal. That happens because it’s against to the person and character of God. All things that have no harmony to the person and character of God is sin (2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 4:18; Romans 1:18; 3:20). In the stupidity and pseudo piety, human has a lot of ways to try to bribe God, so that the harmonius fellowship can be rebuilt. There are some people torture themselves and spread out their richness. The Bible says that the human’s effort to restore the broken relationship is useless. The fact is, the restoration is started from God Himself. Therefore, 2000 years ago, God incarnated Himself in Christ Jesus, dead on the cross, rose from the death, and ascended up to heaven as the only restorative way between God and human. Paul in Ephesians 2:11-12 explains clearly about the restoration of Christ.

This research focuses on the challenges and solutians faced in the task of evangelization in a pluralistic society.as part of its main task, the church today still recognizes evangelism as its duty and responsibility. The main problem is how the church increases the effectiveness of evangelism as one of its taks, especially in a pluralistic society, and how the church provides a solution. Evangelism in a pluralistic society especially in large cities is a challenge faced. Whether the church is able toface challenges it finds in plural societies, and how the churh provides a solution. From the results of study it was found that the challenges of evangelism in plural societies include: the existence of exclusive community groups, so that outreach was difficult to do, and the difficulty of establishing cooperation with urban communities was caused by factors such as: high suspicion in a pluralistic society in balancing the demands of life, and urban society. ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA Penelitian ini memaparkan tentang hambatan-hambatan serta cara penyelesaian yang dihadapi dalam melaksanakan tugas penginjilan dalam masyarakat yang bersifat multicultural. Sebagai bagian dari tugas utamanya, gereja masa kini pun masih mengakui penginjilan sebagai tugas dan tanggung jawabnya. Menjadi pokok permasalahannya adalah bagaimana gereja meningkatkan keefektifan penginjilan sebagai salah satu tugasnya, khususnya di tengah masyarakat yang bersifat multikultural. Penginjilan di tengah kehidupan masyarakat yang majemuk khususnya di kota-kota besar, merupakan tantangan yang harus dihadapi oleh gereja masa kini. Apakah gereja mampu menghadapi tantangan demi tantangan yang ditemukannya di tengah masyarakat multikultural, serta bagaimana cara gereja memberikan jalan keluar. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa tantangan penginjilan dalam masyarakat multikultural antara lain: adanya kelompok masyarakat yang besifat eksklusif, sehingga penjangkauan sulit dilakukan, serta kesulitan untuk membangun kerja sama dengan masyarakat kota disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor antara lain: Tingginya rasa curiga dalam diri masyarakat, kesibukan masyarakat untuk mengimbangi tuntutan kehidupan, dan masyarakat kota pada umumnya berfikir apakah kerja sama itu akan memberi keuntungkan atau tidak sama sekali baginya.

The Bible is a source of accurate doctrine. The application of hermeneutic principles by theologians produces views. The dissimilarity in the use of hermeneutic principles results in the alteration of the doctrines that are believed. There is dissimilarity in the doctrine of eschatology among theologians, due to differences in hermeneutic principles in interpreting biblical texts. Discrepancy of theological understanding will also be followed by the diversity of church denominations. Dissimilarity of church doctrine is a necessity and until the second coming of Christ, it is impossible to make similarity. This fact should not keep the church busy seeking to justify its own doctrine and demean the doctrines of other churches. As a result, the church can forget its main mandate, which is to carry out the Great Commission of Christ. ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA Alkitab adalah sumber doktrin yang akurat. Penerapan prinsip hermeneutik oleh para teolog menghasilkan pandangan-pandangan. Disimilaritas penggunaan prinsip hermeneutik mengakibatkan terjadinya alterasi doktrin yang diimani. Adanya disimilaritas doktrin eskatologi di kalangan para teolog, dikarenakan perbedaan prinsip hermeneutik dalam menginterpretasikan teks-teks Alkitab. Diskrepansi paham teologi akan diikuti pula keragaman denominasi gereja. Disimilaritas doktrin gereja adalah sebuah keniscayaan dan sampai kedatangan Kristus kedua kalipun, mustahil untuk dijadikan similaritas. Fakta ini sebaiknya tidak membuat gereja sibuk mencari pembenaran doktrinnya sendiri-sendiri dan merendahkan doktrin gereja-gereja lain. This article proposes several characters based on Galatians 5:22-23 that can be implemented into the themes of Christian Religious Education (PAK) or Budi Pekerti that have been determined by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia at the junior high school (SMP) class VII. The type of research method used by the author is descriptive method, namely by discussing the developmental psychology of junior high school students, the themes of PAK and Budi Pekerti according to the Ministry of Education and Culture, exploring character values based on the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. Then, at the end, the author will implement these character values into the PAK and Budi Pekerti curriculum that has been prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud). ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA Artikel ini mengusulkan beberapa karakter berdasarkan Galatia 5:22-23 yang bisa diimplementasikan ke dalam tema-tema Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) atau Budi Pekerti yang telah ditentukan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemdikbud) Republik Indonesia pada tingkat siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) kelas VII. Adapun jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah metode deskriptif, yaitu dengan membahas tentang psikologi perkembangan siswa SMP, tema-tema PAK dan Budi Pekerti menurut Kemdikbud, penggalian nilai-nilai karakter berdasarkan buah Roh dalam Galatia 5:22-23. Kemudian, pada bagian akhir penulis akan mengimplementasikan nilai-nilai karakter tersebut ke dalam kurikulum PAK dan Budi Pekerti yang telah disusun oleh Kemdikbud.

The issue of religious pluralism becomes a hot topic for discussion among Christian theologians. The ecumenical views pluralism as a good bridge to respond to the differences in faith amid pluralism. Thus, there is a term of pluralists. Pluralism is considered the right step for the church to present God's shalom in the middle of the world. The pluralist paradigm affects their view of God's mission and the practice of the mission. The mission is not about proclaiming the Gospel but looking at the truth and salvation that God has provided for other beliefs. Thus, the practice of preaching the Gospel is replaced by dialogue and social service. This is in contrast with the Great Commission of Jesus Christ which emphasizes the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ as the core of God's mission. ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA Isu pluralisme agama merupakan topik yang hangat untuk diperbincangkan dikalangan teolog Kristen. Kaum Oikumenikal memandang pluralisme sebagai suatu jembatan yang baik dalam menyikapi pebedaan iman di tengah kemajemukan. Karena itulah dikenal sebutan kaum pluralis. Pluralisme dianggap sebagai langkah yang tepat bagi gereja untuk menghadirkan shalom Allah di tengah dunia. Paradigma kaum pluralis terhadap perbedaan ini berdampak pada pandangan mereka terhadap misi Allah dan praktik misi itu sendiri. Misi bukan tentang poklamasi Injil namun melihat kebenaran dan keselamatan yang Allah sediakan pada kepercayaan lain, karena itu praktik pemberitaan Injil diganti dengan dialog dan pelayanan sosial. Hal ini tentunya bertentangan dengan Amanat Agung Yesus Kristus yang menekankan proklamasi Injil Kristus sebagai inti misi Allah.

God's selection of just 300 men put Gideon in a very difficult faith dilemma, between advancing or retreating in battle against the Midianite army which was many times more numerous. This act of God certainly had significant meaning and purpose for Gideon and his army. These aims and purposes can only be understood and rightly expresses based on a reading of the context of Gideon's own situation, not based on our current context. A reading of the context shows that God had a very clear design and purpose, namely to show Gideon and his men that their victory was entirely due to God's own deeds and power; to make Gideon more trusting and dependent upon God's presence. God's choice of selection criteria for the me also shows that there is an attitude of heart within most men that makes them unfit to fight, and so not needed at the battlefront.
