Flexural behavior and thermal analysis of two post-machined glide path files with different kinematics in artificial dilacerated canal 人工扩张管中具有不同运动学特性的两种后加工滑行路径锉的挠曲行为和热分析

Introduction: Rotary glide path files save time and effort exerted with manual glide path files, they also minimize the stress created upon the preparation files. They should exhibit resistance to fracture as they negotiate tight and curved canals at the beginning of the preparation especially in severly curved canals. Aim: To evaluate the flexural fatigue resistance of post-machined heat-treated files with different kinematics in artificial dilacerated canals and to correlate their austenite temperature with the results of the time taken to fracture. Materials and methods: An artificial root canal was machined in a stainless steel block simulating a dilacerated canal with a 90° angle of curvature and 2-mm radius of curvature, length of the canal was 18 mm and the apical size of the canal was ISO 18 (diameter of 0.18 mm) with center of curvature is 4 mm from the apex and tapered coronally Results: The flexural fatigue behavior of R-Motion glider showed higher resistance to cyclic fatigue failure (237s) than Easy Path (90s) expressed by the significantly longer time needed to fracture the R-Motion although the austen-ite finish temperature of Easy Path was higher than R-Motion Glider. Conclusions: Reciprocating glide path files had superior flexural fatigue resistance than the rotating glide path regardless of the austenite finish temperature.

Assessment of the Temporomandibular Joint Morphology in Class II Malocclusion using Cone Beam Computed Tomography. 锥形束计算机断层扫描对II类错颌颞下颌关节形态的评估。

Introduction: the morphology of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in people with diverse forms of malocclusion has not been properly examined. Aim: To assess the temporomandibular joint morphology in Class II Malocclusion using Cone Beam Computed Tomography. Material and methods : A total of 48 CBCT scans were collected and divided into two groups according to the divisions of Class II malocclusion. The TMJ morphology in patients with class II malocclusion and comparison between groups 1 and 2 was done as well as right and left TMJs in each scan. The following measurements are made on the CBCT images. Measurements in The Corrected Sagittal Plane. Measurements in the Axial Plane. Results : results of the current study showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the right and left sides in each group regarding the anterior joint space, superior joint space, posterior joint space, and depth of glenoid fossa associated with sagittal plane. In addition, there were no statistically significant differences between the groups regarding the anterior joint space, superior joint space, posterior joint space, and depth of glenoid fossa associated with sagittal plane. C onclusion : Temporomandibular joint morphology did not differ between Class II division 1 and Class II division 2.

Effect of Different Root Canal Irrigating Solutions on the Apical Sealing Ability of Bioceramic and Resin-Based Sealers: An in vitro Study 不同根管冲洗液对生物陶瓷和树脂基根管密封材料根尖密封能力的影响:体外研究

Introduction: Ideal chemo-mechanical preparation with good obturation produces a monoblock and three-dimension hermetic root canal seal. The importance of sealing is the prevention of leakage, reinfection, periapical lesion, and the root fracture. Aim: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate and compare the effect of different irrigating solutions on the apical sealing ability of two sealers (Bioceramic and Resin based sealers). Materials &Methods: One hundred fifty-five extracted human single-rooted mandibular premolars were prepared and classified into three main groups depending on their final irrigation regimens; group A: 17% Ethylene-diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA), group B: 10% citric, and group C: 16 ppm ozonated water. Each group was subdivided into two subgroups based on the type of sealer applied, subgroup1: TotalFill ® BC Sealer and subgroup 2: AH Plus ® sealer. Each subgroup was then divided into two divisions based on the time of evaluation, T1: immediately after incubation and T2: after 30 days. The Apical Sealing Ability was measured for all samples using fluid infiltration method. Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA (one-way and three-way) and t-test (paired and unpaired). Statistical significance was considered at P<0.05. Results: In relation to irrigation, the highest apical microleakage mean values were recorded in group B, and the least mean values were recorded in group A, followed by group C. In relation to sealers, the highest mean values were recorded in subgroup1, and the least mean values were recorded in subgroup2. In relation to time, the highest mean values were recorded in division 2 and the least mean values were recorded in division 1. Conclusion: AH plus sealer provided better apical sealing than Totalfill BC sealer. Sealers sealing performance is improved by 17% EDTA and 16 ppm Ozonated water. Apical sealing ability decreased over time, regardless of the irrigation and sealer types used.

Shape and Dimensions of Sella Turcica in Cleft And Non-Cleft Palate Subjects: A Radiographic Study 腭裂与非腭裂患者蝶鞍形状与尺寸的影像学研究

Introduction: The Sella turcica is a significant anatomical structure because the Sella point, S, is one of the most used landmarks in cephalometries. It is located at the center of the Sella turcica. In healthy individuals, the surface area of the Sella turcica varies from 18-115 mm in females and from 22-122 mm 2 in males. The shape of Sella turcica is usually oval.but round and flat types can also occur. Aim: This study aimed to describe and compare the shape and dimensions of Sella turcica in cleft and non-cleft palate subjects. Materials and methods: Cone beam computed tomography of 80 individuals (40 normal and 40 clefts) with age range 12-30 years were collected and analyzed. The linear measurements of length, depth, and diameter were measured and compared between both groups. Results: The Sella turcica normally appeared in the majority of subjects 61.5% in non-cleft subjects while in cleft group was 40%, the oblique anterior wall in the non-cleft was found to be 19%, and in cleft left 17%. Regarding notching in the posterior wall was found 9% in non-cleft and 14% in cleft group, and bridging was found to be 7% in non-cleft group and 16% in cleft group. In the non-cleft group pyramidal Sella turcica was 3.5% while in cleft double contour of the floor was seen in 13%. For linear measurements length, depth, and diameter of Sella turcica showed no significant differences between non cleft and cleft groups. Conclusion: No significance differences in the size of Sella turcica were found regarding length, depth, and diameter of Sella turcica of cleft CBCTs (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) when compared to those of non-cleft CBCTs. On comparing different cleft groups to each other there was only a significant increase in length for unilateral right complete cleft palate compared to other groups. No significance differences were found in comparing volume of Sella turcica between non cleft and cleft groups.

Ramadan","doi":"10.21608/dsu.2023.142037.1127","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21608/dsu.2023.142037.1127","url":null,"abstract":"Introduction: The Sella turcica is a significant anatomical structure because the Sella point, S, is one of the most used landmarks in cephalometries. It is located at the center of the Sella turcica. In healthy individuals, the surface area of the Sella turcica varies from 18-115 mm in females and from 22-122 mm 2 in males. The shape of Sella turcica is usually oval.but round and flat types can also occur. Aim: This study aimed to describe and compare the shape and dimensions of Sella turcica in cleft and non-cleft palate subjects. Materials and methods: Cone beam computed tomography of 80 individuals (40 normal and 40 clefts) with age range 12-30 years were collected and analyzed. The linear measurements of length, depth, and diameter were measured and compared between both groups. Results: The Sella turcica normally appeared in the majority of subjects 61.5% in non-cleft subjects while in cleft group was 40%, the oblique anterior wall in the non-cleft was found to be 19%, and in cleft left 17%. Regarding notching in the posterior wall was found 9% in non-cleft and 14% in cleft group, and bridging was found to be 7% in non-cleft group and 16% in cleft group. In the non-cleft group pyramidal Sella turcica was 3.5% while in cleft double contour of the floor was seen in 13%. For linear measurements length, depth, and diameter of Sella turcica showed no significant differences between non cleft and cleft groups. Conclusion: No significance differences in the size of Sella turcica were found regarding length, depth, and diameter of Sella turcica of cleft CBCTs (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) when compared to those of non-cleft CBCTs. On comparing different cleft groups to each other there was only a significant increase in length for unilateral right complete cleft palate compared to other groups.
