Cross-port cross gain modulation in active MMI 有源MMI中的跨端口交叉增益调制

Cross gain modulation between two different optical signals, inserted through separate ports to an active MMI, has been experimentally measured. The observed trend of modulation reduction by increase of modulated signal power matches previous simulation results. An associated XPM is expected and could be optimized to enable using the active MMI in all-optical switching.

We demonstrate label-rewriting function using 1times4 all-optical packet-switch that utilizes a highly scalable and asynchronous label processor. Results show that labels are successfully exchanged and the process causes only 0.5 dB power-penalty and error-free operation at 160 Gb/s.

Single-SOA optical memory based on coupled fiber ring lasers 基于耦合光纤环形激光器的单soa光存储器

A compact optical memory with single SOA is demonstrated by exploiting two coupled fiber ring lasers. Without necessity of feedback, the memory shows bi-stability over a large wavelength range. Dynamic flip-flop operation is also investigated.
