The Relationship Between Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Students’ Self-Esteem and Event Participation and Satisfaction 物理治疗与康复学生自尊与事件参与及满意度的关系

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between physiotherapy and rehabilitation students’ self-esteem and their demographic characteristics, events participation, and satisfaction. In this cross-sectional study, 421 students (68.2% female, 31.6% male) who were accessible and volunteer among 673 students studying in different classes of Dokuz Eylül University School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation were included. The demographic characteristics of the students were written. Their participation in social and scientific events, and student clubs was determined. Students’ satisfaction in terms of academic success, choice of profession, education and studying in the department were asked. The self-esteem of the students was determined with the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Scale-Short Form. Students were aged between 18 and 32 years old (median = 20 years, interquartile range 19/21). 86.5% of students had high self-esteem. There was no difference in terms of self-esteem between the groups according to gender (p=0.361) and classes (p=0.655). It was seen that there was a positive significant weak correlation between the economic status reported by the students and their self-esteem (Kendall’s tau-b r = 0.080, p=0.044). Social events (Kendall’s tau-b r=0.132, p=0.001), scientific events (Kendall’s tau-b r=0.132, p=0.019) and student club participation (Kendall’s tau-b r=0.136, p=0.001) were found to have a statistically significant positive weak correlation with self-esteem. The students who were satisfied with their education (p=0.001), academic success (p=0.000), career choice (p=0.001), and studying in School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation (p=0.000) were found to have significantly higher self-esteem than the students who weren’t satisfied. In this study, it was concluded that choosing the profession that students would be satisfied with, keeping students’ satisfaction high, and organizing the ideal variety of activities and club activities that they can participate in may be important for the development of self-esteem.

Prevalence of Headache and Related Factors in Erciyes University Medical Faculty Students 埃尔西耶斯大学医学院学生头痛患病率及相关因素分析

Headache is one of the oldest known symptoms in humans and headache disorders are among the most common diagnoses in neurology clinics. More than 90% of people experience a headache at least once in their lifetime. Medical students may frequently experience headache triggering situations such as insomnia, fatigue, and stress. The purpose of this research; The aim of this study is to examine the frequency of headache in Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine students, the nature of the pain in patients with headache and related factors.Materials-Methods: This descriptive study; It was conducted with medical faculty students studying at Erciyes University. In March 2019, 1602 students were enrolled in the medical faculty and all of them were planned to be included in the study and the sample size calculation was not made, and a total of 1296 people could be reached when the data collection phase was completed. The obtained data were evaluated in computer environment and p <0.05 values were accepted as significant in statistical analysis. Results: 46.5% of the participants in the study were men and 53.5% were women. 6.9% of the participants stated that they had a diagnosed headache disease, 31.7% stated that they had a headache at least once a week. The triggering factors were mostly; insomnia (77.4%), stresssadness (72.4%), fatigue (%70.0), noise (%59.4), study (%44.5). The frequency of headache is significantly higher in women, those with a family history and those living with their families. The mean severity score of those who describe sharp and throbbing pain, which is mostly seen in migraine, is significantly higher than the feeling of tension and heaviness. Conclusion: One-third of the participants stated that they experienced a headache once or more per week. A significant relationship was found between headache and the factors of gender, family history and place of residence. It has been determined that the factors that trigger pain are mostly insomnia, stress-sadness and fatigue. Medical students can be informed about the examination of headache complaints by the physician and the arrangement of necessary treatments, as well as training on sleep hygiene and coping with stress, and social support can be provided.

Evaluation Scale of Clinicians’ Views and Expectations About Academics and Academic Productivity Process, Validity and Reliability Study 临床医生对学术与学术生产力过程的看法与期望评价量表、效度与信度研究

Basic medical education, clinical education and academician processes are closely related concepts. Long-term professional practice can disrupt the harmony between these dynamic processes. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the answers given by clinicians who try to balance the triangle of basic and clinical medical education, patient relations and academic life to questions about their academic processes. The questionnaire, consisting of nineteen closed-ended questions, was answered by clinicians who are experts in their fields, academics and non-academicians, the data obtained were scaled, analyzed and evaluated, and the results were interpreted.

The Mediating Role of Attitude towards Distance Education in the Effect of Digital Literacy Level on Satisfaction with Distance Education 远程教育态度在数字素养水平对远程教育满意度影响中的中介作用

This study aims to examine whether the attitudes towards distance education have a mediating role in the effect of academicians’ digital literacy levels on their satisfaction with distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data were collected from 341 academicians who teach distance education courses at Inonu University. The academicians’ satisfaction with distance education which is the dependent variable of the study, consisted of two factors. These factors are satisfaction with the teaching of the course and satisfaction with the infrastructure. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the attitude towards distance education has a complete mediation role in the effect of digital literacy level on satisfaction with the teaching of the course in distance education, and that the attitude towards distance education has a partial mediation role in the effect of digital literacy level on satisfaction with the infrastructure.

Investigation of Infographic Design and Summarizing Processes from the Biology Texts of Primary School Students in Terms of Different Variables 不同变量下小学生生物课文信息图设计与总结过程的研究

Technological developments have increased the importance of presenting and the processing of information as effective and memorable in the field of education. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of performing biology subjects in the elementary school science lessons with infographic design tasks in terms of the effects on students’ cognitive structures and knowledge levels in the learning - teaching process. As the research method was used the pretest-posttest control group design from the experimental research models. The sample of the research consists of 4th grade students of a primary school. The total of 48 students were studied from two different classes, each of 24 students including in the study. Word Association Test (WAT) and achievement Test were used as data collection tools. Mann Whitney U test and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test from non-parametric tests were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analyzes, it was seen that the students who carried out the infographic design activities were positively affected in terms of their cognitive structures.

The Perceived Stress Level of Nursing Students Regarding The Clinical Practices in the Covid-19 Pandemic 新冠肺炎大流行中护理专业学生临床实践感知压力水平

This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the perceived stress levels of nursing students regarding the clinical practice during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study was conducted between May 20 and June 20, 2020, with 252 students studying in all classes in the Nursing Departments of Necmettin Erbakan University. The data were collected using the Information Form and the Perceived Stress Scale for Nursing Students (PSSNS). 52.0% of the students felt uncomfortable thinking about Covid-19, and 62.2% stated that their anxiety increased when they thought they were infected with Covid-19. The study further revealed that 57.9% of the nursing students were afraid to provide care to the individuals diagnosed with Covid-19 and 82.1% stated that they did not have enough knowledge to provide care to those individuals. Our study revealed that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the Perceived Stress Scale for Nursing Students and the students’ gender (p<0.01), the status of willingly choosing the nursing profession (p<0.01), the interest in the nursing profession during the Covid-19 pandemic (p<0.01), having enough knowledge to provide care to individuals diagnosed with Covid-19 (p<0.01), being uncomfortable thinking about Covid-19 (p<0.01), being afraid to provide care to individuals diagnosed with Covid-19 (p<0.01), and the increased anxiety level thinking that they were infected with Covid-19 (p<0.01). In this study, female nurses and nurses who did not choose the nursing profession willingly, whose interests in the nursing profession were negatively affected during the pandemic period, who believe that they do not have the knowledge or who do not want to provide care to individuals diagnosed with Covid-19, who are afraid to provide care, and who are uncomfortable thinking about Covid-19 were found to have higher perceived stress levels. It is recommended to offer training and counseling to the nursing students with high perceived stress levels

The study was conducted between May 20 and June 20, 2020, with 252 students studying in all classes in the Nursing Departments of Necmettin Erbakan University. The data were collected using the Information Form and the Perceived Stress Scale for Nursing Students (PSSNS). 52.0% of the students felt uncomfortable thinking about Covid-19, and 62.2% stated that their anxiety increased when they thought they were infected with Covid-19. The study further revealed that 57.9% of the nursing students were afraid to provide care to the individuals diagnosed with Covid-19 and 82.1% stated that they did not have enough knowledge to provide care to those individuals. Our study revealed that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the Perceived Stress Scale for Nursing Students and the students’ gender (p<0.01), the status of willingly choosing the nursing profession (p<0.01), the interest in the nursing profession during the Covid-19 pandemic (p<0.01), having enough knowledge to provide care to individuals diagnosed with Covid-19 (p<0.01), being uncomfortable thinking about Covid-19 (p<0.01), being afraid to provide care to individuals diagnosed with Covid-19 (p<0.01), and the increased anxiety level thinking that they were infected with Covid-19 (p<0.01). In this study, female nurses and nurses who did not choose the nursing profession willingly, whose interests in the nursing profession were negatively affected during the pandemic period, who believe that they do not have the knowledge or who do not want to provide care to individuals diagnosed with Covid-19, who are afraid to provide care, and who are uncomfortable thinking about Covid-19 were found to have higher perceived stress levels. Reflection of Scientific Studies on Educational Activities: Teachers’ Views 科学研究对教育活动的反思:教师的观点

Although the number of scientific publications in our country has increased in recent years, the quality of those publications and their reflection on practices have become a topic of debate. The purpose of this study is to discover the views of teachers who work in various schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and who have received postgraduate education on the research conducted in the Faculties of Education, as well as to present the teachers’ suggestions based on the problems identified. The case study design was used in this research, which was carried out with the qualitative research method. The research’s study group comprises 20 teachers who work in Ministry of National Education-affiliated schools while also studying postgraduate education (master’s and Ph.D.) at the Faculty of Education. To include the participants in the study, the maximum variation sampling approach, which is one of the purposive sampling methods, was utilized. Face-to-face interviews with teachers were used to collect data, which was subsequently analyzed using a content analysis method. Most teachers, according to the results of the content analysis, are informed of academic studies since they have postgraduate education. However, the majority of teachers who do not attend postgraduate education are uninformed of the studies. Teachers’ main suggestions for staying informed about scientific studies include organizing congresses, seminars, and conferences, having academicians visit schools, cooperating between the Ministry of National Education and universities, providing teachers with informative brochures, publishing studies on school websites, and organizing in-service training programs. Although teachers’ views about scientific studies were mostly negative, they did make several recommendations for putting scientific studies into practice.

Evaluation of the Emergency Distance Education Process Starting with the Covid 19 Pandemic from the Perspective of Teaching Staf 从教师角度评价以新冠肺炎疫情为起点的应急远程教育过程

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused restrictions and shutdowns affecting all industries worldwide. The scope of the steps taken to prevent the spread of the pandemic, universities in Turkey also began to provide distance education in March 2020. This process has provided an important experience in which the education system is questioned on the basis of educational infrastructure, lecturers and students. The experience of a nationwide transformation in such a short period of time in the education system is considered to be unique. In this study, it is aimed to create a decision support document by compiling this valuable experience and suggestions for further improvement of the higher education system. In this context, the opinions and recommendations of teaching staff regarding the distance education process were taken with the help of surveys which were responded by 744 lecturers from 84 universities of Turkey. As a result of the study, it was seen that factors such as the type of university, distance education experience, and age make a difference in the views of the lecturers towards distance education. In addition, the determinations and suggestions of the instructors that they stated by openended expressions were compiled under main headings. This process experienced offers an important opportunity to question the current educational structure and to improve it further. As also stated in the survey results, it is predicted that the weight of distance education in higher education will also increase at post-pandemic term. Therefore, it is thought that the necessary steps should be taken in the light of the experiences in order to make the next process more efficient

Music Education and Postgraduate Study: The Case of Dokuz Eylül University 音乐教育与研究生学习:以Dokuz eyyl<e:2>大学为例

The purposes of this study are to shed light on postgraduate education in Music Teaching and draw inferences about the future by evaluating the Music Teaching Postgraduate Program in Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Educational Sciences. The research is a qualitative study modelled with a single-case embedded study. In accordance with the interlocking single case pattern, the Music Education graduate program was examined by focusing on student, graduate, faculty member, theses. The opinions of 10 students, 23 graduates and 6 faculty members were taken to evaluate the program, and 57 master’s and 20 doctoral theses were examined. As a result of the content analysis,opinions were collected under four main categories. These categories are defined as “institutional goals”, “content”, “program outputs” and “updates”. In the category of program outcomes, the theses were evaluated according to various categories and the professional orientations of the graduates were statistically shared. According to the results of the research, the following conclusions were made: students should be informed at the beginning of the program in order to understand the vision and mission of the institution and to make the process they spent in the education process meaningful; A “scientific research in music education” course should be added to the program in order to conduct qualified research in the field of music education; subjects and research groups in theses should be diversified; faculty members should be role models in preparing thesis and academic studies for their advisors; graduate programs should be updated according to the needs of the time and society.

Social Media Use and Expectations in the Teaching and Learning Process: The Opinions of the Faculty Members 社交媒体在教学过程中的使用和期望:教师的意见

Nowadays, social media tools used in all fields such as politics, health, economy, transportation, public services are also used in the learning and teaching process. The main aim of this research is to investigate academic administrators’ and faculty members’ perceptions concerning the reasons and the expectations of social media usage in the teaching and learning process. With this purpose, semi-structured interviews were carried out with 20 academic teaching faculty members from different academic units, titles, and positions at Aksaray University in Turkey. According to the findings of this research, the use of social media in the teaching and learning process was similar in terms of faculty that use or not use. In this study, both the benefits and challenges of using social media for teaching and learning purposes were identified. It has been determined that the faculty members who use social media prefer YouTube most and even the ones against find YouTube useful and use them effectively in their courses. The motives stated by the faculty that use social media were; student-centered reasons such as students’ preference to use these environments, contributing to students’ perceptions and learning, fast and effective communication with students, as well as accessibility and equal opportunities in education. Those who do not prefer to use social media claimed the students’ unethical behavior in these platforms, the difficulty of creating a traditional classroom environment, and maintaining the relationship between the learner and the teacher. As a result, in order to integrate social media tools with the teaching and learning process, it is necessary to raise awareness of faculty members and students and to use social media tools that have a code of ethics, appropriate and can be integrated into the learning environments.
