COGNITIVE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION UNDER CONTROLLED DAYLIGHT LEVELS AT DIFFERENT INDOOR TEMPERATURES 不同室内温度下受控日光水平下的认知表现评估

This paper details the results of an experimental study investigating the influence of daylight illuminance levels and indoor temperatures on objective and subjective performance evaluations, investigated through paper-based tasks and questionnaires, respectively. Experiments were conducted in an office-like test room with controllable indoor temperature and easy-to-change glazing visible transmittance. A total of 84 participants took part in the experiment, performed only under clear sky conditions to avoid variations in illuminance. In a randomized order, participants were exposed to three daylight illuminance levels (on average 140, 610 and 1440 lux) at one of three temperature conditions: 19, 23 and 27°C. Results show that objective performance outcomes were not affected by daylight illuminance or temperature, nor by their interactions, but only by the order of the test presentation ( indicating a learning effect). Of the subjective responses, only perceived concentration was affected by daylight conditions, with a self-reported lower concentration under the low illuminance level.

SOLID-STATE LIGHTING MEASUREMENT ASSURANCE PROGRAM SUMMARY WITH ANALYSIS OF METADATA 固态照明测量保证程序总结与元数据分析

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) began to offer proficiency testing for Solid-State Lighting (SSL) products through a Measurement Assurance Program (MAP) in 2010. This article communicates the results of the first version of the MAP in which 118 worldwide laboratories participated. Statistical analysis of how the laboratories’ measurements compared to NIST’s measurements are presented. In general, all the laboratory results are within +/- 4 % for total luminous flux and luminous efficacy measurements. The discussion provides reasons for any discrepancies or large uncertainty intervals found in the data. A major finding was that measurement differences of RMS current had a larger standard deviation and number of outliers than expected. Two possible explanations are (1) the discrepancies are due to issues with using 4-pole sockets, and (2) the large deviation is caused by some solid state lamps being sensitive to impedance and slew rate of AC power supplies.

COMBINED OUT OF RANGE AND IN BAND STRAY LIGHT CORRECTION FOR ARRAY SPECTRORADIOMETERS 阵列光谱辐射计的带外杂散光联合校正

Insufficient stray light rejection of array spectroradiometers, in especially the UV spectral range, limits the application of these devices. One important example would be UV hazard measurements. This study shows that a combination of different stray light corrections methods can improve the stray light reduction performance of UV array spectroradiometers significantly, to meet these requirements. The ACGIH Eeff (identical ICNIRP) values measured with an uncorrected array spectroradiometer showed expected large deviations of 73% for a sunbed tanning lamp and 105% for a halogen lamp, relative to a double monochromator reference. With the applied combined Out-of-Range and In-Band stray light correction method, these measurements were within 3% of the reference double monochromator based system. Furthermore, the measurements showed a detection limit of 2E-5 W/m2/nm for the double monochromator and comparable 3E-5 W/m2/nm for the stray light corrected array spectroradiometer. This was in contrast to 5E-4 W/m2/nm for the uncorrected array spectroradiometer. The results suggest that photobiological safety measurements according to IEC / DIN EN 62471 are possible with the applied combined stray light correction method for the used spectroradiometer.

PREFERRED COLOUR TEMPERATURES OF AMBIENT LIGHT AT DIFFERENT LIGHT LEVEL SETTINGS 在不同光照水平设置下环境光的首选色温

Ambient light is taken more into account in today’s lighting design as it has a major impact on human well-being as well as reduction of glare. LED lighting provides new opportunities to design more efficient lighting systems in terms of improved color rendering and possibilities to vary the color temperature in order to mimic daylight. Today there is a trend to use dynamic lighting in working environments to set the circadian rhythm by varying the CCT over the day by using higher colour temperatures and illuminance levels in the morning and lowering the values in the afternoon toward night. This study investigated preferred color temperatures within an ordinary workplace area using various light levels and different ratios between task area and the ambient light in a laboratory environment. Furthermore we also compared different age groups and gender in order to examine if there were any such differences in preferences.

To identify lighting requirements for ADB systems to help drivers detect off-axis potential hazards when oncoming headlight glare exists in a night-time roadway, we conducted target detection tests under various experimental conditions in a laboratory. In the experiment, we used a simulated ADB system which can illuminate only targets locally and therefore increase the luminance contrasts of the targets. The experimental results suggest that the ADB system is more efficient lighting methods than conventional forward lighting systems which illuminate the entire visual field to increase drivers’ adaptation luminance levels. Based on the detection rates, we also determined requirements for threshold luminance contrast for targets with oncoming headlight glare.

Ishida","doi":"10.25039/X46.2019.PP21","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.25039/X46.2019.PP21","url":null,"abstract":"To identify lighting requirements for ADB systems to help drivers detect off-axis potential hazards when oncoming headlight glare exists in a night-time roadway, we conducted target detection tests under various experimental conditions in a laboratory. In the experiment, we used a simulated ADB system which can illuminate only targets locally and therefore increase the luminance contrasts of the targets. The experimental results suggest that the ADB system is more efficient lighting methods than conventional forward lighting systems which illuminate the entire visual field to increase drivers’ adaptation luminance levels.
