This paper first addresses the issues related to the parking trajectory generation problem of front wheel steering vehicles. Then, taking both the implicit vehicle dynamic control restricts and explicit obstacle avoidance requirements into consideration, the mapping and inverse mapping relationship between the sequence of the control action and the result parking trajectory is carefully analyzed and approximately modeled using wavelet transformation and RBF neural networks. Finally, a guidance system is constructed to help the driver to complete the parking process.

Parking guidance and information system (PGIS) is a part of intelligent transportation system (ITS). As a new short-range wireless transmission technology. Dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) is a rock-bottom communication technique of ITS, which realizes the communication between roads and vehicles. In this paper, the DSRC system was introduced. The architecture of PGIS based on DSRC was built up. The information provided by PGIS, as well as its functions and characteristics, was discussed. The key problems in implementing PGIS were put forward.

In past work we described a system of components that are used to construct transit traveler information applications. In this paper we describe an ongoing project that uses the same component architecture to combine maps, schedules, and AVL information from four transit agencies. The result is a set of Web applications suitable for both transit management and traveler information. We describe both the technical and administrative challenges to be overcome in building a regional (10000 square miles) transit AVL and information system.

Traditionally, GIS can only perform route analysis in a static transportation network. This is probably due to the lack of real-time traffic information and corresponding simulation functionalities. The introduction of a traffic simulation environment, however, provides an opportunity for GIS to sort out this problem. This paper explores how to conduct route analyses in dynamic transportation networks by coupling a microscopic traffic simulation engine (i.e. PARAMICS) with a GIS environment (i.e. MapObjects). An interface for such coupling has been developed, in which PARAMICS simulates the traffic conditions with consideration of incidents and feeds in the dynamic link travel time to the system. With the aid of dynamic path finding algorithms the integrated system can implement routing according to users' requirement. It shows that the integration of traffic simulation system with GIS offers a powerful tool for traffic data management, dynamic analysis and presentation, which in turn supports intelligent transportation planning and management effectively.

This paper proposed the single input multiple outputs (SIMO) Fourier neural networks on the base of Fourier series principle. The SIMO Fourier neural networks turn nonlinear optimization problem into linear optimization problem. So, the SIMO Fourier neural networks highly improve convergence speed and avoid local minima problem. At the same time, under the condition of bounded input and bounded output, the SIMO Fourier neural networks can approximate multiple arbitrary nonlinear mapping relationship at arbitrary accuracy and have good generalization capability.

The paper presents a decentralized route guidance algorithm that can function alone or as a component of a hybrid centralized/decentralized route guidance system. The focus of the algorithm's design is on vehicle-level communication and computation, for the purpose of developing vehicle-centric route guidance. The algorithm has been implemented and tested on a sample network in which both guided and unguided drivers are modeled. Results are given which show that the algorithm is successful at responding to small amounts of network stochasticity as well as to congestion caused by incidents. The results also illustrate the potential of tuning the algorithm's parameters in real-time, using vehicle-level intelligence.

Multi-energy powertrain controller is the kernel of hybrid electric vehicle electrical control system. Its structure, performance, communication mode directly affect the whole vehicle's control strategy and control mode. In this paper, solution of multi-energy powertrain controller is given out, which includes microchip selection and configuration, CAN network composition and key technique, software structure and control algorithm. Experiment results show that the solution has reasonable structure, is highly integrated, strongly reliable and can be easy realized. During the experimentation, the multi-energy powertrain controller works steadily, has high performance and meets the control need of real-time and precision.

This paper presents a technique for the online adaptive weighted fusion algorithm for multi-sensor tracking. A suitable method for estimating measurement noise variance is developed, and the formulas of fuzzy logic-based fusion and parallel adaptive tracking are derived. The algorithm consists of three steps: (i) estimation of the sensor's measurement noise variance using the statistical theory; (ii) adjustment of the fused sensor's weight coefficient according to the sensor's noise variance change; (iii) prediction of the target position using the "current" statistical model and Kalman filter method. The algorithm is able to adapt itself to the changes of sensor's noise, and its estimation error is of least mean square. Computer simulation results are presented to demonstrate the robust performance of this algorithm.

The idea of supply chain management (SCM) is a newly developed theory of management nowadays. But when the demand information is passed on along the supply chain we can see a phenomenon that the fluctuation of the demand information becomes larger and larger, which is called "bullwhip effect". "Bullwhip effect" may have much negative impact. A few measures are introduced to weaken the impact in this paper. We also explain a strategic alliance between the retailer and the supplier and the main forms of the alliance. Furthermore, a compare between the centralized control strategy of the multistage system and the traditional strategy is made to show the advantages of the former.
