In the current reality of threats, the issue of shaping human security requires changes in space and processes. Recently, it is possible to observe an increasing scope and determination of human threats as well as ways to combat them. There are many doubts and questions about the quality of safety education. The solution is an attempt to find alternative forms and ways of education. The aim of this article is to draw attention to alternative ways of shaping the perception of human security in the context of the implementation of safety education. The basic structure of the article consists of two parts: the areas of human threats at present and alternative solutions to human security education.

The article deals with the possible determination of obtaining information method and data to find the requirements for unmanned ground vehicles for reconnaissance and surveillance units. The article emphasizes the specification of general capabilities and features of reconnaissance and surveillance, which serve to define the requirements for unmanned ground vehicles. For the same reason, the article examines the individual environments that may affect the determination of requirements. Using the example of methods using cognitive maps, the mutual correlation of the researched issue is shown.

Since the launch of the first military and civilian operations and missions, conducted within the framework of its security and defence policy, the European Union has been trying to constantly improve its structures, mechanisms, and instruments to support stability and security in its neighbourhood and beyond, thus contributing to increasing security not only in the Union, but also in the world. The primary goal of operations and missions led by the Union is to help prevent the emergence of conflicts and crises, or if they have already arisen, to help solve them, increase the capacities of partners, and ultimately protect the Union and its citizens. Given the fact that what happens outside the borders of the Union has a direct impact on its security, the European Union today faces serious security challenges and threats. In order to protect and defend its citizens, it must deal with them and try to solve them using all available means and tools, including the military. That is also why, the authors – as part of their interdisciplinary scientific research – deal with the current challenges of the Union, primarily from the point of view of EU operations and missions conducted within the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy.

The aim of this articleis to identify differences in the procedures for adjustment of artillery fire inaccordance with the national procedures used in the Armed Forces of theSlovak Republic and the procedures set out in NATO standardizationagreements. After identifying differences in those procedures to conductcomparative and creative analysis of possible solutions to adjust nationalprocedures to comply with accepted NATO standards and suggest mostsuitable ones.

In this article we deal with education in the field of integrated information system. This area of education is currently insufficiently secured. Dissemination of theoretical and practical knowledge and experience is a basic prerequisite for successful logistics management. The Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic covers most of the processes in the field of planning, budget, financial management, human resources, logistics - the Integrated Information System. Education in this area is carried out several times in the form of gaining experience from colleagues. The biggest problem in the training at the Academy of the Armed Forces in this area is the currently non-functional classroom of the integrated information system.

Capabilities and capacities in transport are dynamicand dependent on many factors including the world happenings andsituation. It’s as well crucial to note that characteristics of the transportconditions are subject to compliance with the national and internationalagreements, laws, and other regulations. On the top of that, most of the militaries around the world have limitedoperational budget, so there is a notable need in finding cost-effectivesolutions for transportation. The European Union is a community of currently twenty-seven member states. Most of them are classified as smaller or small states in terms of geographical area and economic strength as well as military power. Therefore, one of the most researched topics within the European Union's foreign, security and defence policy concerns its small member states and their approaches to security and defence integration. Their interests in this area may differ significantly from those of the larger member states of the Union, as well as their strategies. Considering the already achieved progress in European integration in the field of security and defence, the author therefore deals in the study with the challenges and opportunities that the small member states of the European Union had to deal with. In the above context, within the framework of interdisciplinary theoretical scientific research, it assesses the previous research of small member states within the European security and defence policy, examines developments in the field of security and defence integration, and at the same time analyses the main discussions taking place in the professional literature about small member states of the European Union and their approach to security and defence integration.

Over the last few years, the number of terrorist attacks in Europe has increased considerably, causing considerable tension and nervousness. Not only in Europe, but also around the world, terrorist attacks and other violent crimes are increasingly concentrated around targets that are easy to access and characterized by a high concentration of people and a relatively low level of protection – soft targets. In this article, we will present methods of identifying factors that affect the protection of soft targets. We will use mind mapping to identify an attacker, as well as conditions for attacking soft targets. We will also present possible concepts of soft targets protection.

Tensions between the West and Russia, closely linked to the Ukrainian crisis,Tensions between the West and Russia, closely linked to the Ukrainian crisis, have further fuelled discussions on mutual cooperation between theEuropean Union and the North Atlantic Alliance in the area of defence. TheEuropean Union is the political and economic power base for the security anddefence of the European continent, as it is primarily its Member States thatset the overall strategy for European foreign and defence policy. On the otherhand, the member states of the Union, whether they are or not also membersof the Alliance, lag behind their alliance partners, especially the UnitedStates, in military capabilities and capacities. Therefore, through someEuropean Union initiatives, they are now seeking to build more militarycapabilities and capacities, thus strengthening not only the level of Europeandefence and security, but also the possibility of the Union's strategicautonomy. Therefore, the author uses relevant methods of scientific researchin this article to discuss the possibilities of European strategic autonomy andthe future of the European Union in the Alliance.
