Effects of Blended Learning on Reading Comprehension: A Case Study of High School Students in Kasur, Pakistan 混合式学习对阅读理解的影响:以巴基斯坦卡苏尔高中学生为例

MALL has grown in ESL classes during the previous decade. Researchers may now study the pros and cons of blended learning (BL), which combines online and in-person education. This quasi-experimental research examined how BL affects reading comprehension. This research examined how blended learning (BL) affected students' writing comprehension. 60 Pakistani secondary school pupils were split into control and experimental groups. The experimental group used "Reading Comprehension" mobile phone software to merge traditional teaching with blended learning for two months. An independent samples t-test compared pre-and post-test results. BL improved reading comprehension in the research.

Do They Read for Pleasure? Surveying Secondary School Teachers of District Lahore, Pakistan 他们读书是为了乐趣吗?巴基斯坦拉合尔地区中学教师调查

Every society is focused on developing readers who not only can read but also want to read. This rule is more employed on teachers when it is evidenced that good readers lead to good teachers. The students are modelling their teachers hence, it is necessary for a school teacher to be good readers to produce good readers and lifelong learners. The current study explored secondary teachers’ reading attitudes, priority towards reading, and engagement activities. Method: The data were collected by surveying 400 secondary school teachers who were teaching in public sector schools of District Lahore, Pakistan. A total of 40 (20 males, 20 females) randomly selected public secondary schools were approached to collect data from 400 teachers through a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22 version. Results showed that secondary school teachers perceived themselves as devoted readers and they are reading in their leisure time by considering reading pleasure and relaxing activity. The study was the first of its kind to report reading habits among secondary school teachers teaching in District Lahore, Pakistan.

This case study specifically examines flaws in the design of online conversations created using Salmon's five-stage model, and highlights how easy it is to overlook key aspects when planning an online campaign. In the case study, the topics chosen for discussion failed to resonate with many students on a personal level. This demonstrates the importance of identifying flaws in the design of online conversations created using Salmon's five-stage model and highlights how easily these issues can be overlooked during event planning. It emphasizes the concept that participation is a prerequisite for community development. This article, therefore, explores how skilled community development practitioners can effectively address and overcome barriers to participation by stimulating personal and emotional interest. By understanding the importance of relationships and emotional engagement, educators can create online activities that truly motivate and engage students, resulting in a more vibrant and engaging online learning community.

Investigating the Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and English Learning Motivation 情绪智力与英语学习动机的关系研究

This study had been conducted to explore the relationship of emotional intelligence with motivation for learning English. The population of the study comprised the Government high schools of the Gujranwala division. A multistage technique of sampling had been used to select the sample for the study and 758 students including 412 girls & 346 boys were chosen. Two questionnaires were used by the researchers to collect the data from the sample. English learning motivation scale was developed by the researchers and the emotional intelligence scale by Schutte (2009) was adapted for the study. Pearson Product Moment Correlation test and Independent Samples t-test were used to make an analysis of the collected data. The results of the study showed a positive significant correlation between motivation and emotional intelligence (r= .560). Data analysis showed that boys and girls were the same in their level of emotional intelligence but they were significantly different in the level of motivation. Girls showed more motivation than boys. It was concluded that more emotionally intelligent students were more motivated for learning English and also enlarged their knowledge.

Impact of ICT Proficiency on Teachers' Work Performance in Distance Learning 信息和通信技术能力对远程学习中教师工作绩效的影响

This study investigated the impact of Information and Communication Technology Proficiency (ICT-P) on teachers' work performance (WP) within distance learning contexts. Employing a quantitative design, a cross-sectional survey was administered to assess the ICT-P and WP of teachers working in distance learning institutes; Virtual University and Allama Iqbal Open University. Using stratified sampling, data was collected from 237 teachers through two online self-administered questionnaires, involving ICT-P and WP. Both questionnaires consist of a 6-point semantic differential scale. The ICT-P was framed around the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) model of digital literacy, examining constructs such as the use of ICT-P based devices, digital applications, software, services, and digital proficiency. The WP construct, sourced from an extensive literature review, is divided into seven primary areas. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation, and regression techniques. The research found an affirmative impact of ICT Proficiency on teachers’ work performance.

An Interplay of Students' Quality of Life and Academic Motivation at College Level in Multan Division 木尔坦地区大学生生活品质与学业动机之互动研究

The best way for a person or an adult to gain knowledge, understanding, competence, and a positive outlook is through formal education. As a result, one undergoes maturation, honed skill, and instruction. The objective of the study is to find out the relationship between the quality of college life and students' academic motivation at the college level in the Multan division. The study used the descriptive method that used a correlational approach. The population of the study comprised all the women studies in the colleges that come under the jurisdiction of Multan division while the four hundred women were the sample of study who attended the college. The researchers used two questionnaires to collect data from the sample of the study. The study concluded that the quality of college life has a significant relationship with student's motivation. The study may recommend that college may foster a more upbeat environment for students' academic growth

Explore Professional Development Barriers of Teachers: A Case Study of High School Lahore 探讨教师专业发展障碍:以拉合尔高中为例

The study highlights the need for schools to develop a culture that values and supports ongoing teacher professional development. The study utilized in-depth interviews to collect data from a diverse group of teachers with varying levels of experience and teaching contexts. The participants were selected through purposive sampling to ensure representation from different backgrounds and teaching contexts. The interviews were conducted using a semi- structured approach to allow for flexibility in exploring the participants' experiences. The research group includes 12 subject matter experts from four Lahore high schools. At the personal level, teachers reported that work-life balance issues and competing responsibilities, such as family and personal commitments, hindered their ability to engage in professional development activities. They also noted a lack of support from school leadership, which undermined their motivation to pursue professional growth.

Effect of Higher Education in Fostering Civic Values among University Students 高等教育在大学生公民价值观培养中的作用

Education plays a pivotal role to shape students personality for the benefit of society. The objective of the study was to find out the existing and achieved level of civic values. The population was undergraduate students studying social sciences at the University of Sargodha. The intact classes of BS 1st and 8th semesters were the sample of the study. The data were collected through a questionnaire regarding higher education and civic value. The data were analyzed by applying an independent sample t-test to compare the existing and achieved level of civic values of the students. The result revealed that the achieved level of civic values was more prominent than the existing level. It is recommended that such research should be conducted in different universities in Pakistan to find out the effect of the philanthropist role of students in building peace, cooperation and tolerance in society.

Perceptions of Nursing Students towards Plagiarism 护生对抄袭的认知

This research study was conducted on “Perceptions of Nursing Students towards Plagiarism” at three private Nursing Institutions in Karachi. The objective of the study was to explore the understanding of nursing students towards plagiarism. Plagiarism is prevalent in academia. Nursing students commit plagiarism due to various reasons, such as a lack of understanding and a lack of academic writing skills. Qualitative research methodology as a research design was applied and the phenomenological study method was used to understand if nursing students knew about plagiarism or not. The collected data through semi-structured interviews were analyzed thematically. The findings of the study showed that the participants did not have a clear understanding of plagiarism. They were unaware of the types of plagiarism and they had no idea how to avoid plagiarism. The study recommends that courses on preventing plagiarism should be designed and taught to nursing students to enhance their understanding towards plagiarism.

Comparative Analysis of Quality Teaching and Management Practices in Pre-PSSP and Post-PSSP in District Lodhran, Punjab 旁遮普省洛德兰地区pssp前和pssp后质量教学和管理实践的比较分析

The Punjab Education Sector Reform Program (PSSP) was implemented in 2012 to improve the quality of education in public schools in Punjab, Pakistan. This study aims to compare the quality of teaching and management practices in public schools in Lodhran before and after the implementation of PSSP. The nature of the study was descriptive, while a survey was used to gather information from 250 PSSP school teachers out of 14 schools in Lodhran. The results showed significant improvements in the quality of teaching and management practices after implementing PSSP. Teachers reported feeling more supported and better equipped to teach, with increased access to professional development opportunities and teaching resources. School principals reported improved management practices, including better financial management, effective leadership, and accountability. The findings suggest that PSSP has positively impacted the quality of teaching and management practices in public schools in Lodhran.
