In this paper we present the Wavelet Domain Vector Median M-type L-filter (WDVMML) for the removal of impulsive and speckle noise in color image processing applications. The proposed filter uses the robust RM-estimator in the filtering scheme of L-filter. We adapt the RM L-filter to work in wavelet domain by use the Daubichies wavelet dB4. Simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed filter consistently outperforms other filters by balancing the tradeoff between noise suppression and detail preservation.

Rhodanines is non-aromatic heterocyclic compounds, which are basis for the synthesis of some sensitizing dyes. In papers [1, 2] reported that rhodanine cycle can exist in three tautomeric forms - ketone, enol and thioenol. This is a consequence of large polar N-H bond in rhodanine cycle. Enol and thioenol forms can exist in two equivalent conformations, different in the direction of S-H and O-H bonds (Fig. 1). This conclusion was confirming by the data [2].

Waveguide bandstop and notch filters are widely used microwave devices. One of notch filters is in the focus of this paper. It is a stepped conductor in a rectangular waveguide cross-section (inset in Fig. 1). Such a filter provides narrow-band reflection of the TE10 wave at a desired frequency of the operating frequency range. It can be used both as a section of a bandstop filter and as a notch filter itself.

Ozone plays very important role in the atmosphere because it protects life at the Earth's surface against the harmful solar UV-B radiation [1]. In the stratosphere, ozone critically controls the energy budget because it absorbs both solar UV and terrestrial IR radiation [1]. Spatial distribution and variations of the ozone content determine quantity and variations of the absorbed energy. Existing satellite instruments such as [2] can't provide both high resolution in horizontal plane and sufficiently dense data sets on concentration of ozone and ozone-related species (in the first place, chlorine and nitrogen oxides) over selected regions. So reliable ground-based instruments for monitoring of ozone and other minor atmospheric gases are necessary in addition to the satellites.

In the millimeter- and submillimeter-wave regions, the optical principles for microwave device design are used [1] as losses in waveguide devices are unacceptably large. The optical principles of design constrain the possibilities to create the millimeter- and submillimeter-wave region element base similar to the waveguide element base. Therefore, each quasi-optical system and all its elements are specially developed when solving this or that specific problem.

Gyrotron FU CW Series which consists of 9 gyrotrons, has been designed and constructed as high power THz radiation sources and completed operational tests successfully in the Research Center for Development of Far Infrared Region, University of Fukui (FIR FU). The gyrotron series covers wide frequency range in sub-THz to THz region. Gyrotrons included in the series can operate in continuous wave (CW) mode and the output power is ranged from several watts to several hundred watts. A few gyrotrons have been applied to ESR spectroscopy in THz region, DNP enhanced NMR spectroscopy and material processing. Some other gyrotrons will be applied soon for development of high power THz technologies, for example, X-ray detected magnetic resonance (XDMR) measurement, measurement on hyperfine structure of positronium, ESR echo experiment in sub-THz region, etc. In this manuscript, development of THz gyrotrons and their applications are presented.
