Currently, the nursing profession is experiencing alarming rates of stress and burnout. It is imperative for nurses to learn strategies to manage their stress and increase resilience and grit, which could potentially mitigate burnout. This mixed-methods study explored the impact of a 10-week online mindfulness course on graduate nursing students' perceived stress, resilience, and grit. Grounded in Shapiro's IAA (Intention, Attention, and Attitude) Model of Mindfulness, the study involved 49 participants who completed pre- and postintervention surveys, including the Perceived Stress Scale, the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, the Grit Scale, and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale. The results indicated significant increases in mindfulness, resilience, and grit, and a decrease in perceived stress. Qualitative data revealed themes of improved stress management, emotional regulation, and mindful awareness, highlighting the course's potential to reduce burnout among nursing professionals.

Mandala coloring is used as a complementary therapy in the management of certain illnesses and symptoms. The symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) have a negative impact on women's daily activities. Investigating how mandala coloring affects PMS symptoms is the goal of this study. This study was conducted using a single-blind, randomized controlled design. The research was conducted on 80 university students between November 2023 and March 2024. The participants included women aged 19 years and older who were experiencing PMS. They were split into the control group and the intervention group at random. The experimental group's women's PMS total and subscale scores significantly decreased after the intervention. The control and intervention groups were evaluated using the Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS). The intergroup comparisons showed that the severity of PMS decreased significantly following the mandala coloring intervention (PMSS pretest 155.22 ± 26.14 vs. 161.51 ± 25.75, respectively, PMSS posttest 112.68 ± 30.65 vs. 162.14 ± 25.05) (p < .05). The intervention group experienced a significant reduction in premenstrual symptoms in comparison to the control group.

Yangsaeng (nurturing life) is a concept, emerging alongside the interests in well-being and a prolonged life span, that exists in many East-Asian countries. The concept of Yangsaeng was originally derived from Daoism (Taoism in modern Chinese), which emphasizes the way of cultivating mind and body. This concept analysis aimed to clarify the meaning and attributes of Yangsaeng using Roger's evolutionary method from various disciplines. By exploring its common use in the literature, a comprehensive definition of Yangsaeng nursing was developed. By modernly reinterpreting the theories and practical needs of Yangsaeng , it is possible to respond realistically to the prevention and treatment of modern people's psychological stress and physical illnesses.

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement Framework for Improving Joy at Work includes self-care as a strategy to support happy, healthy, and productive people; however, this relationship has not previously been empirically demonstrated. The purpose of this study was to describe self-care practices and levels of meaning and joy in work (MJW) in a sample of registered nurses and to explore the relationship between self-care and MJW. Registered nurses (n = 122) from a regional health system completed a survey during a nursing recognition event. Measures included a Demographic Questionnaire, the Meaning and Joy in Work Questionnaire (MJWQ), and the Brief Mindful Self-Care Scale (Brief MSCS). The mean MJWQ score was 4.29 on a scale of 1 to 5, and the mean Brief MSCS score was 3.05. There was a significant relationship between MJWQ and Brief MSCS scores ( r = 0.43, P < .001). These results indicate that supporting self-care in nurses may improve MJW.

Mindfulness-based interventions have been receiving growing attention in cancer care. This study was performed to determine the effect of a mindfulness-based stress reduction program on depression and quality of life in cancer patients. The screenings in the study were performed in January to May 2023 through the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, and YÖK Thesis Center databases. After the reviews, 14 studies were included in the study. This meta-analysis showed that mindfulness-based stress reduction programs were effective on depression (SMD: -0.363; 95% CI: -0.711 to 0.015; Z = -2.042; P = .041; I 2 = 85.229%) and quality of life (SMD: 0.363; 95 CI%: 0.111-0.615; Z = 2.822; P = .005; I 2 = 75.222%). The type of cancer (SMD: 0.385; CI: between 0.005 and 0.528; P = .000); duration of therapy (SMD: 0.243; CI: between 0.093 and 0.393; P = .002); the person providing therapy (SMD: 0.335; CI: between 0.133 and 0.507; P = .001); scale used (SMD: 0.290; CI: between 0.148 and 0.432; P = .000); and the origin of the study (SMD: 0.298; CI: between 0.158 and 0.438; P = .000) moderators were found to play a role in the effectiveness of a mindfulness-based stress reduction program on the quality of life of cancer patients. The mindfulness-based stress reduction program yields positive outcomes by reducing depression, enhancing the quality of life in cancer patients, and promoting overall mental well-being in individuals.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a common chronic disease, and fatigue significantly affects the quality of life of patients. This study examined the effects of a virtual group discussion-based self-management program on fatigue and quality of life in patients with MS. A quasi-experimental study was conducted with 60 patients from the MS Association of Urmia in 2021, divided into control (30) and intervention (30) groups. The intervention group participated in 6 virtual discussions over a month, while the control group received no training. Fatigue and quality of life were evaluated before and after the intervention using standardized questionnaires. The intervention group demonstrated a significant reduction in fatigue and improvement in quality of life compared to the control group ( P = .001). The virtual group discussion-based self-management program substantially enhances fatigue and quality of life in patients with MS, indicating its potential as an effective intervention.
