The ecological structure of forest fragments is closely related to the dynamics of biological flows directly dependent on the decomposition of the litterfall, which is the main mechanism of recycling nutrients to plants. In this sense, the objective of the present work was to quantify the annual litterfall productionduring the period from April 2013 to March 2014 in Mata do Bebo, an Atlantic Forest fragment located in Macaíba, Rio Grande do Norte. 10 conical collectors were used to obtain the data on the litter contribution, with an average opening area of 0.128 m², placed 1 m above the ground.. The material was collected monthly, dried at air temperature for 48 h, and separated into four fractions: leaves, bark and branches, reproductive material; and miscellaneous material. After separation, the fractions were weighed and stored. The total contribution of litter was uninterrupted and totaled 5,038.72 kg ha –1 year –1 , with the highest production in September, at the beginning of the dry season, and the lowest in July. The foliar fraction made the largest contribution, with 3,744.26 kg ha –1 year –1 , followed by the reproductive material, which reached 846.29 kg ha –1 year –1 , branches and bark, with 396.10 kg ha –1 year –1 , and miscellaneous material, with 52,069 kg ha –1 year –1 . The correlations of litterfall production with rainfall and temperature were negative. The litterfall production in the fragment was lower than that obtained in other remaining Atlantic Forest areas, possibly because it is located in a region considered an ecotone between the Caatinga and Atlantic Forest biomes, besides the anthropic effect to which it has been submitted for decades.

The golden marine fish Seriola lalandi has been defined as a resource with aquaculture potential for the North of Chile. Through its cultivation, the region of Arica and Parinacota seeks to develop the productive activity, and theindustry requires juvenile dorado for its development. The local supply considers obtaining low-cost, high-quality juveniles in Arica. Risk analysis and control of critical points is a management method for the identification, evaluation, and control of hazards in the field of food safety. The methodology has proven appropriate to ensure quality and has registered effects in reducing associated production costs. This research aims to create and validate a production management system based on risk analysis and control of critical points to obtain low-cost, high-quality juveniles. The results showed that the proposed system ensured the quality of juvenile dorado in the productive indicators evaluated (Specific Growth Rate and Survival Percentage) and lowered the associated production costs (0.51 USD per 5 g unit).

The study consisted of knowing the characteristics of production and forms of commercialization of the pitaya (Stenocereus queretaroensis) and define the stages of commercialization in the sale of fresh fruit, mixed fruit and fruit processed through two channels of marketing (producers and intermediaries) to determine the profitability indicators: relationship benefit/cost (b/c), net present value (VAN) and internal rate of return. Surveys and interviews with producers (10 people), whereas variables quantitative and qualitative, conducted from March to June of 2017. Indicators of profitability (over the period of assessment) the most profitable were the stage one (E1) –sale of fresh fruit by direct sale– with a value of 2.60 and four (E4) –joint sale by direct sale and intermediaries –with an estimate on the b/c ratio of 1.66. Fort the VAN was a utility of $16,973,149.27 (E1) and $14,524,556.35 (E4). In relation to the TIR was obtained a profitability of 174.62% and 122.30%, for these two scenarios. It was concluded that higher yields in the direct sale of production, are obtained what will allow them to extend the shelf life time and the period of marketing of the pitaya.
