: Flooding accounts for several natural disasters and deaths world-wide. Millions of people are exposed to floods yearly. In Nigeria, amidst several natural disasters, flooding is the most common. Climate change induced rise in sea level have increased the frequency and intensity of floods in the world. In Nigeria, the severe floods of 2012, 2018 and 2022 are typical examples. The study explored livelihood devastation and the most vulnerable group during flooding in Southern Ijaw Local Government of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Data were obtained using both primary and secondary sources. Cluster and simple random sampling techniques were adopted. The data analysis of the study revealed that women are the most vulnerable group during flooding in the study area. The study also identified that flooding has severe impact on livelihood, leading to the destruction of crops and fishes. It was thus recommended that challenges of vulnerable groups such as women and children should be addressed with priority during flood and post flood periods to enhance their capacities within the communities. Also, various subordinating rules against women in the communities, such as land rights should be investigated and stopped by the government. Government and relevant flood management agencies should provide proper social welfare for flood victims to cushion the effects of flooding. Those who are affected should be properly rehabilitated and provided with adequate relief materials

The article investigates the emergence of the problem of indigenous women to the critical horizon of the scientific mentality that manages the emancipatory project of Peru as an organic response to the spiritual, scientific, inte-llectual, and ethical-political crisis that is the natural con-sequence of the collapse of the archaic colonial regime in Peru and the Andean region. Consequently, this paper dis-cusses the historical-formative, epistemological, semantic-resignifying, constructive and attitudinal aspects that in-tervene in the scientific formulation of our problem. This article thus explains the critical process through which indigenous women become protagonists in critical studies and, above all, producers of discourse and, therefore, of discursive criticism. This contribution concludes that the integration of indigenous women into Peruvian citizens-hip continues to be a current and ongoing challenge.

The main purpose of this article is to analyze ransomware risk and its impact on the loss ratio in cyber insurance. To achieve this goal, the article indicates the scale of the threat of ransomware attacks and the prospects for change in the field of cyber insurance protection. Methodologically, the focus is on analysis and literature studies in order to properly describe and classify cyber threats, including ransomware risk. Statistical data were analyzed to find the scale of ransomware threats. Through the analysis, attention was drawn to the need for changes in the approach to cyber risk by both entrepreneurs and insurance companies. The originality of the study lies in its attempt to capture the necessity of changes in the field of cyber insurance, and justify their introduction. A research gap was identified, as the problem of ransomware attacks became particularly acute during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The theoretical part of this paper is based on a literature review; the empirical part is based on the data collected from secondary data analysis. Secondary data were gathered mainly from related research articles and websites, and Global Gender Gap Reports for 2018–2022. The research shows that both gender equality and women’s rights are fundamental principles in the European Union, and many initiatives have been implemented to reduce gender inequalities. Nevertheless, it has been demonstrated that gender inequality is still present in many aspects of life in EU countries: in the labor market, education, health, and political empowerment.

This article presents the circumstances of the birth of occupational medicine in the interwar period in Poland. The first regulations concerning preventive examinations of young employees were created on the basis of the Act of July 2, 1924, concerning the work of minors and women. This act imposed an obligation on business entities to carry out free medical examinations for minors as ordered by the labor inspector. The first examination of underage employees was carried out in 1926. However, compliance with the laws and orders of the labor inspectorate during the interwar period left much to be desired. There was a shortage of doctors in the labor inspectorate, and a shortage of specialized medics to carry out the examinations. Despite the difficulties, the period in question saw the successful introduction of compulsory medical examinations for young workers. In 1930, 16,121 underage employees were diagnosed in this way. The interwar years also saw the first initiatives resulting from an increased awareness of preventive care for adult workers.

The war in Ukraine and the risk of it spreading to other countries strongly undermined Poles’ sense of security. One recurring phenomenon is attacks in cyberspace. Such attacks are aimed at the critical infrastructure of the state; however, they also target citizens who seek knowledge on the Internet in areas related to defense, but also on ordinary matters that translate into everyday activities and knowledge about the world. The purpose of this article is to present the most important topics that function in cyberspace and are currently the most common targets for hackers. The research problem is, which topics functioning in cyberspace are most often modified so that they become disinformation? The research methods used were literature analysis and a diagnostic survey; the techniques were text analysis and a survey with a questionnaire.
