During last decade, the concept of a variable speed wind turbine equipped with doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) has received increasing attention due to its noticeable advantages over other wind turbine generator concepts. New configuration of DFIG is single external feeding of DFIG (SEF-DFIG) where a rotor side converter (RSC) replaces the back to back variable frequency converter (VFC) in the conventional DFIG. The main issue of wind turbines that equipped DFIG and SEF-DFIG is the grid faults or low voltage ride through capability. In this paper, a new solution for uninterrupted operation of wind turbine driving a SEF-DFIG has been proposed during fault condition in the grid. A fault current limiter (FCL) is placed in series with the rotor circuit. During fault condition FCL enters a impedance in the rotor circuit to inhabit increasing of current in the rotor circuit. When the fault is cleared the FCL bypasses the impedance. A static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) has been applied for supplying required reactive power in faults and steady states. Capability and modeling accuracy of the proposed method confirmed with simulating a sample power system in PSCAD/EMTDC software.

A mathematical model intended for research of wave processes in high-voltage two-windings transformers was developed. The variable separation method was used to solve the integral-differential equations describing the process under research. The voltage distribution in the transformer windings under the influence of the impulse overvoltages was analyzed.

A new approach to statistical simulation of the information signals that can be described mathematically by linear stochastic processes is presented. The paper contains some knowledge of the Linear Stochastic Process Theory, a modelling processes classification, and discusses a method of simulation problems solving in the case when the mean and jumps spectrum of the process being simulated is given. The simulation of linear autoregressive processes is considered as an example of the proposed method usage.

Huge information content in the World Wide Web leads to redundancy of search result that can reach hundred thousands of pages. Due to this an end user sometimes finds necessary materials not in the top ten links. Method of local refining of document relevance is proposed in the paper. The proposed method is based on user's local behavioral description. Its main module comprises collecting the data from user's Web-surfing and monitoring the Web-resources retrieved in response to her/his web search query which are the most interesting for the user. Local search results are grounded on the base search engine results page and keyword search query. The research results indicate the 15% increase in search results quality.

Method of controlling transistors in ac voltage PWM controller aimed at eliminating commutation overvoltages in RL-type load circuit is proposed in the paper. The method is based upon keeping continuity of load current; this is achieved by appropriate control of transistors on the basis of detecting voltage sign (polarity) at the supply terminal and detecting load current sign (polarity). This type of control does not depend on character of the load and it makes possible increase of converter's efficiency by elimination of RC circuits protecting transistors from overvoltages. The scheme of main circuit is shown as well as waveforms demonstrating the control principle. Four different characteristic operating conditions are discussed and illustrated with simulation results. Measurements have been run to verify the method with real 3-phase ac controller and results of these tests are presented.
