Comparing the harmonic characteristics of typical single-phase nonlinear loads 比较了典型单相非线性负载的谐波特性

Harmonic distortion in electric distribution system is increasingly growing due to the widespread use of nonlinear loads. Large concentrations of these loads have the potential to raise harmonic voltages and currents in an electrical distribution system to unacceptable high levels that can adversely affect the system. Hence there is need to study the impact of nonlinear loads in the system. This paper presents a method based on bispectrum analysis to characterize typical single phase nonlinear loads by analyzing the harmonic currents produced by these loads. Measurements are conducted using a power quality monitor to record the harmonic current waveforms, individual harmonic distortion levels and total harmonic distortion. To investigate the harmonic characteristics of these loads, the fast Fourier transform technique and the advance signal processing technique such as the bispectrum analysis are used. The results of harmonic characteristics obtained from these loads are compared so as to investigate the effectiveness of the bispectrum analysis in characterizing the various nonlinear loads.

Simulation of parallel-loaded resonant inverter for photovoltaic grid connected 光伏并网并联负载谐振逆变器仿真

In this paper, a simulation of parallel-loaded resonant inverter for photovoltaic (PV) grid connected is presented. The output of the resonant inverter is parallel-connected with transformer, which will control the voltage levels and also could provide isolation. The sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) technique was used to produce pure sinusoidal waves of voltage and current output. The result of simulations show that the developed model had the capability to minimize the switching loss, prevent shoot-through and prolong the lifetime of power switches. The result for the 500-Watt single-phase inverter grid connected design produce less than 3% of THD.

The approach of high frequency application seems to be very trendy In power transformer design. Especially when it is greatly efficient in reducing size, losses, cost etc. However, there is not much discussion that were made on how to design the high frequency power transformer using a proper approach, cost efficient and reliable to be implemented. So in this paper, some of those important parameters are briefly considered. The discussion is made throughout their geometries, core losses, winding losses and thermal model considerations accordingly.

Object oriented sparse linear solver component for power system analysis 面向对象的电力系统分析稀疏线性求解器组件

This paper describes the development of a sparse linear solver component for solving linear equation in power system analysis. The solver is developed into a component by using object oriented programming and component based development methodologies. This component is then integrated with the load flow and fault analysis components as power system analysis software. By developing the solver and the power system analyses into a different component, the engineering analysis becomes independent from the sparse linear solver. Therefore, the solver can be replaced with other solver, which may be proprietary code, or when better or improved solver becomes available in future. The replacement will not cause any need to modify the load flow and fault analysis components. By using component based development, the software becomes flexible to be updated and extended.

Using Hopfield neural network for economic dispatch of power systems 利用Hopfield神经网络进行电力系统经济调度

The economic dispatch of power generating units have always occupied an important position in the electric power industry. This paper presents a Hopfield neural network model based method to solve economic dispatch of power systems. To solve the economic dispatch problem using Hopfield model, an energy function comprising power mismatch, total fuel cost and the transmission line losses along with their associated weighting factors is defined. One of the important considerations in applying Hopfield framework to economic dispatch of power systems is the proper selection of weighting factors. This paper presents a systematic approach to select these weighting factors. The method has been applied to three sample power systems and the results obtained are promising.

Single phase active power filter for harmonic mitigation in distribution power lines 配电线路谐波抑制用单相有源电力滤波器

A single-phase shunt active power filter for a selected order of harmonic is presented in this paper. Voltage-fed inverter with a large storage capacitor is formed the filter circuit, IGBTs switches are used to construct the inverter circuit, the proposed filter is designed to prevent the affect of 3/sup rd/, 5/sup th/, and 7/sup th/ order of harmonics. The essential advantage of this method is injecting certain harmonics with needless to the reference signal, which tremendously reduces the number of filter components and the complexity of the circuit. Fast Fourier Transformer (FFT) algorithm is employed to determine the magnitude and the phase of the harmonic needed to be eliminated. Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique is introduced to control the phase and magnitude of the inverter output. The simulation results using PSPICE software package are shown to validate the proposed technique.

Microprocessor-based distance relay 基于微处理器的距离继电器

This paper presents the design and operation algorithm for the protection of short transmission line using microprocessor-based distance relay. The characteristic of a distance relay is realised by comparing voltage and current at the relay location. The ratio of voltage (V) to current (I) gives the impedance of the line section between the relay location and the fault point. The signal will be taken from the transmission line and it will be converted to digital signal then goes to the microprocessor which has a program written in assembly language to estimate the apparent impedance of the protected line, the calculated impedance is capered to the replica set impedance inside the relay to decide a trip command. The decision will be made according to this signal whether there is a fault or not.

Linear generator: design and simulation 线性发电机:设计与仿真

A six-slot tubular permanent magnet linear generator is designed, simulated, fabricated and tested. The finite element method is used in calculation and simulation to get the accurate results. Optimization of the translator length is carried out to achieve the minimum cogging force. Tests are conducted to confirm the simulation results. Better performance is achieved in the proposed improved generator prototype.

Some issues on the design of a voltage regulator module (VRM) for microprocessor power supply 微处理器电源稳压模块(VRM)设计中的几个问题

The lower voltage and higher current demands of future microprocessors could have a severe impact on the quality of power delivered to the CPU. Due to the unpredictable voltage drop caused by large current flow in the cable, a precise voltage regulation and good transient response is very difficult achieved. The approach to overcome this problem is to resort to the point-of-load regulation method, popularly known as the voltage regulator module (VRM). This paper describes some of the issues involved in designing such a VRM.

This paper describes the operation of an AC-DC converter employing sixth-order harmonic injected PWM. The boost converter operating on the rectified output uses a constant switching frequency PWM and discontinuous current mode to reduce the total harmonic distortion in the input current. The implementation and the characteristics of the converter are presented.
