Antenna selection based on mutual coupling and spatial correlation among integrated antennas for maximum energy efficiency 基于集成天线间相互耦合和空间相关的天线选择,以获得最大的能量效率

Recently, many antennas are used to increase data rate in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system to satisfy user's requirement. However, power consumption is increased significantly when many antennas are used. As importances of economic and environment benefits have arised, consumed power have to be handled through maximizing energy efficiency (EE). EE can be increased using antenna selection which can reduce power consumed in radio frequency (RF) chains. On the other hand, there is a limited space to integrate many antennas. Integrating many antennas in fixed space causes significant quantities of mutual coupling and spatial correlation between antennas. Therefore, mutual coupling and spatial correlation have to be considered when EE is maximized through antenna selection in practical system. In this paper, antenna selection algorithm is proposed considering mutual coupling and spatial correlation between antennas in the situation where antennas are integrated in fixed space. Mutual coupling and spatial correlation are reflected by electromagnetic (EM) simulation tool to consider more practical system. Then, performance of the proposed antenna selection algorithm is analyzed compared to three methods which are exhaustive search method, conventional algorithm and random selection method. Also, performances of the proposed algorithm are investigated in different environments where channel condition is different and minimum rate is required.

System validation of millimeter-wave beam multiplexing with interleaved hybrid beam-forming antennas 交错混合波束形成天线的毫米波波束复用系统验证

This paper describes beam division multiplexing at millimeter wave band using interleaved hybrid beam-forming (BF) antennas. The antenna elements are located alternately to make narrow beam-width of about 5 degrees, and the user multiplexing calculation on the digital signal processing part can suppress the undesired grating-lobe. The authors manufacture the interleaved hybrid beamforming antennas at 60GHz, and conduct antenna beam pattern measurements and transmission experiments. The measurement results show the desired-undesired ratio of 18dB after the suppression of the grating lobe by digital weight multiplication, and show good communication performance from the results of received constellation patterns of OFDM 16QAM modulation scheme.

Multi-hop multi-AP multi-channel cooperation for high efficiency WLAN 多跳多ap多通道合作,实现高效无线局域网

A multi-hop multi-AP multi-channel cooperation scheme, referred to as MHACWlan, is proposed for the purpose of improving the efficiency and performance of wireless local area network (WLAN) in dense scenarios, which is the top concern of HEW (High Efficiency WLAN), a IEEE 802.11 study group created in 2013. The proposed MHACWlan provides an effective way to solve the performance anomaly problem, interference problem, and the load imbalance problem in dense WLAN. In MHACWlan, we considers two-hop association to the APs for the wireless STAs with poor single-hop links to improve the throughput, assigning different channels for the two-hop links to reduce the interference and increase the throughput, and associating with more than one AP so as to balance the load. The mathematical analysis and simulation results demonstrate the performance benefits of MHACWlan compared to the traditional WLAN.

Performance improvements of reputation-based cooperative spectrum sensing 基于声誉的协同频谱感知性能改进

Cognitive radio is establishing itself as the most promising technology in tackling the problem of spectrum scarcity. It allows secondary users to opportunistically access and re-use the spectrum resources under-utilized by licensed or primary users. Spectrum sensing (either cooperative or non-cooperative modes) is exploited to identify those unused (free) frequency bands. This new technology has been proved to be vulnerable to an increasing number of attacks, such as Byzantine attacks. Here, we propose a novel reputation-based cooperative spectrum sensing method that first detects, and then rejects any malicious secondary user, thus improving the system performances. We evaluate the error probabilities (detection vs. false alarms) of the system, as well as the number of both correctly identified attackers and discarded honest users. Finally, we compare our method to a recently published reputation-based method (either blind or non-blind). As shown by the simulation results, the proposed method outperforms the conventional approach, confirming its robustness in detecting different types of Byzantine attacks.

A two-step resource allocation algorithm for D2D communication in full duplex cellular network 全双工蜂窝网络中D2D通信的两步资源分配算法

In this paper, a scenario was considered that cellular user equipments (UEs) and device to device (D2D) communication pairs exist in a full duplex cell. Limited frequency resources are shared by a large number of UEs, and complex interference is introduced due to resource sharing between uplink, downlink UEs and D2D links. To manage the resource and achieve the maximum total system capacity, a non-deterministic polynomial (NP) hard optimization problem is formulated. To efficiently solve the problem, a Graph based Two-step Resource Allocation (GTRA) algorithm is proposed. In the first step, a full duplex base station (BS) allocates resources to half duplex uplink and downlink UEs by a graph coloring based algorithm. The second step is a bipartite graph based Multi-Stage Matching (MSM) algorithm to allocate resources to D2D pairs. The GTRA algorithm can effectively allocate the spectrum resources with low complexity while guaranteeing the Quality of Service (QoS) of cellular UEs as well. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithm performs better than the reference algorithms.

Energy efficient adaptive transmission strategy using cooperative diversity for wireless sensor networks 基于协同分集的无线传感器网络节能自适应传输策略

Energy saving strategies pose challenges for wireless Sensor Networks communication, as the nodes have limited energy resources and are battery powered. Thus, there is a strong interest in developing energy efficient transmission techniques. In this paper, we present a new approach to minimize the energy consumption of clustered wireless sensor networks, while achieving the required level of reliability. We consider clusters where sensors transmit monitored data to nearby cluster-head using cooperative communication. The goal of our approach is to minimize the transmit power energy based on Bit Error Probability (BEP) criterion for selective digital relaying (SDR) schemes whose closed form expression was recently derived in previous works. Therefore, the proposed scheme can efficiently allocate the least transmission power among the source and the relays that satisfy the predefined level of reliability while decreasing the energy consumption of the node. Simulation results show that our relay selection algorithm achieves significant energy savings (more than 50% compared with direct transmissions for moderate SNR values and up to 90% in high SNR regions).

Reconfigurable hybrid beamforming for dual-polarized mmWave MIMO channels 双极化毫米波MIMO信道的可重构混合波束形成

A reconfigurable hybrid beamforming (HBF) system is proposed to flexibly exploit the channel diversities and antenna array directivity in millimeter wave channels. Sub-arrays of antennas can be reconfigured in the proposed HBF system to adjust the spatial and polarization diversities and the array gains according to the channel environments and the relative locations between the transmitter and the receiver. Based on the reconfigurable HBF system, a training procedure is also proposed for the transmitter and the receiver to learn the best operating mode according to channel quality and characteristics. Compared to a fixed HBF system, the reconfigurable HBF system has 3 to 10 dB power gains in channel capacity in various simulated channel conditions.

Sub-arrays of antennas can be reconfigured in the proposed HBF system to adjust the spatial and polarization diversities and the array gains according to the channel environments and the relative locations between the transmitter and the receiver. Based on the reconfigurable HBF system, a training procedure is also proposed for the transmitter and the receiver to learn the best operating mode according to channel quality and characteristics. Ultra-multi-amplitude-level BPSK based SSB-DFTs-OFDM to achieve higher spectrum efficiency 基于超多幅级BPSK的ssb - dft - ofdm实现更高的频谱效率

Ultra multi-level modulation such as 1024/4096QAM can achieve higher spectrum efficiency of 10/12 bit/s/Hz than 8 bit/s/Hz achieved by 256QAM in current WLAN/LTE standards, however BER (Bit Error Rate) performance is significantly degraded due to very small reference phase error for coherent detection. This paper proposes ultra-multi-amplitude-level BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) based SSB-DFTs-OFDM (Single Side Band Discrete Fourier Transform spreading Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) to achieve higher spectrum efficiency. Theoretical analysis and computer simulation results reveal the proposed multi-amplitude-level BPSK based SSB-DFTs-OFDM is more robust to reference phase error for coherent detection, and lower PAPR (Peak to Average Power Ratio) than conventional 1024/4096QAM.

A robust conscious model for enhancing cognitive radio quality of service 增强认知无线电服务质量的稳健意识模型

Cognitive radios (CRs) use learning algorithms (LAs) located in the cognition engine (CE) to adapt their behaviour. CRs use LAs for spectrum prediction to enhance their quality of service (QoS). The CR's CE consumes battery power while classifying LAs. The LA classification reduces CR data transmission power and limits CR throughput. This paper proposes a framework to enhance CR QoS in LTE-Advanced (LTE-A). The proposed framework reduces battery power expended in LA classification and increases CR data transmission power. It introduces the radio resource control (RRC); RRC_COGNITIVE state in which the CR pauses LA classification. The framework's performance is evaluated using the CR transmit power and throughput. Simulations show that the proposed framework reduces LA classification power by 65 % on average. The reduction of LA classification power enhances CR transmit power. The CR throughput is enhanced by 23% and 80% when CRs are and are not secondary users (SUs) respectively.

Joint remote radio head selection and user association in cloud radio access networks 云无线接入网中联合远程无线电头选择与用户关联

The cloud radio access network (C-RAN) has been proposed recently as a promising network architecture to meet the explosive data traffic growth in 5G wireless communication systems. In C-RAN, all baseband signal processing is centralized at one Baseband Unit (BBU) pool powered by cloud computing technologies. Whilst the Remote Radio Heads (RRHs), left off on the cell sites, are connected to the BBU pool through fronthaul networks and can be densely deployed with low cost. However, a large number of active RRHs located close to each other may result in severer interference and inefficient energy consumption. To tackle above challenges, we formulate a network power consumption minimization (NPCM) problem, which selects a set of active RRHs and constructs the user association with the active RRHs. The capacity limitation of the fronthaul network is considered in the problem. Since the NPCM problem belongs to the integer programming problem and is NP-hard, we propose a low complexity approximation algorithm that yields the performance guarantees: joint RRH selection and user association (JRSUA) algorithm. A simulation platform is developed to evaluate the network power consumption in three fronthaul network scenarios: fiber, wireless and mixed. Simulation results show that the proposed JRSUA algorithm is able to provide near-optimal performance with reduced complexity and outperforms the other counterparts.
