An interactive video installation using an abstract font as visual elements is explained. The interactive abstract characters respond to viewers by varying their sizes while moving about in the video space, as algorithmically specified by a computer. This results in interactive and dynamic compositions of multiple abstract characters. In this paper, we study the characteristics of such dynamic composition in ontological terms, as it involves the viewer’s interactivity. We have found that ontological transmodality and inter-subjectivity are the key concepts that could explain the dynamic features in the visual aspects, as well as viewer experience.

The purpose of this research is to find out what influence of the motivation of shopping tourism and the shopping tourist destination image affected to the choice of shopping tourist destination. As the result of the research, it was found out that the motive of shopping tourism and the shopping tourist destination image affected much to the choice of shopping tourist destination. The result of this research means that stimulating the motive of shopping tourism can bring about effects of alluring shopping tourist. Moreover, through improvement of psychological, cognitive image that forms image of shopping tourist destination, tourists can be allured. Therefore, when developing the marketing strategy related to shopping tourism in future, the development of strategy, which improves tourism motive and tourist destination image, is needed.

Every node in wireless multi-hop mesh networks periodically transmits its own beacon to announce its existence. Through the reception of beacon messages, every node can detect who are neighboring nodes. Therefore, if there are some losses of beacon messages, mesh nodes cannot configure the routing path, which is related to the inefficient network overhead due to wrong routing information and long paths. In this paper, we propose a dynamic beacon collision detection and avoidance (BCDA) mechanism that can actively adapt to beacon collision status due to node movement or new nodes joining. Each mesh node monitors the collision event by comparing the received beacon timing information from neighboring nodes with its own beacon timing information. It is shown from the performance evaluations that the proposed BCDA mechanism reduces the beacon collision ratio and also enhances the network throughput through the adaptive path configuration.

This study was designed to investigate life stress, attitude toward death, and meaning in life and to identify factors contributing to meaning in life among middle-aged women. The participants were 220 middle-aged women of D city, Korea. The data were collected through a structured questionnaire from October 4 to 30, 2010, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS WIN 14.0. Life stress, attitude toward death, and meaning in life significantly differed according to general characteristics in the middle-aged women. Moreover, life stress was negatively correlated with attitude toward death and meaning in life; attitude toward death was positively correlated with meaning in life. Factors influencing meaning in life were life stress, volunteer activity, religion, economic status and attitude toward death, which explained about 36.9% of the total variance. These results suggest that a support program that considers general characteristics should be developed and implemented in order to improve meaning in life and the quality of life of middle-aged women.
