Inverse of the rate-dependent Prandtl-Ishlinskii model is proposed to compensate rate-dependent hysteresis effects in smart actuators. The rate-dependent hysteresis properties of a piezoceramic actuator were characterized using the rate-dependent play operators and a dynamic density function. The inverse model is subsequently obtained analytically from the rate-dependent play operators and a dynamic density function. The effectiveness of the analytical inverse is demonstrated by its implementation as a feed-forward compensator to mitigate the rate-dependent hysteresis effects over a wide frequency range of actuator input. The proposed model resulted in exact inversion and thus could be quite attractive for compensating the hysteresis effects of smart actuators in real-time applications.

Storage planning for outbound container is one of the most important operations in container terminals. It influences almost all successive operations, including storage position allocation for individual container, equipment scheduling, stowage planning and container relocation, etc. This paper studies storage space pre-allocation for outbound containers of arriving ships. Considering the complexity influence of random factors and the coupling relations with other subsystems, rules are collected from the real container terminals and are described in the form of constraint. The decision-making frame with mathematics model and system simulation is proposed, in which mathematics expresses are defined for clearing up objectives, variables and influencing factors of the storage plan problem, and simulation scenarios with the random factors considered are built and run to verify the mathematics model. The methods studied in this paper including constraint satisfying technique, rolling-horizon planning, hybrid approach of mathematics description and the simulation experiment, which are fit for planning problems of other complexity discrete system additionally.

Safety Performance of tank truck transportation attracts more and more attentions as a result of the rapid growth of industrial requirements for energy sources and chemical productions. Researches focusing on working states of vehicles serve as a basis of improving transportation safety. This paper chose a representative type of oil tank trucks as the research-prototype, built a full vehicle model and carried out real vehicle road tests to verify the model. Finally, different tank truck operation situations were simulated to analyze the full vehicle movement states and dynamic parameters.

Direct torque control based on space vector modulation (SVM-DTC) preserve DTC transient merits, furthermore, produce better quality steady-state performance in a wide speed range. The SVM-DTC system based on input-output linearization technique for induction machine drives is developed in this paper. A sliding-mode observer for estimating flux is introduced. The observer is inherently sensorless because they do not employ the rotor speed adaptation, and thus they are insensitive to speed estimation errors. Moreover, the observer is extremely robust. The simulations of conventional DTC and the proposed control topologies are given and discussed. It is concluded that the proposed control topology outperforms the conventional DTC in reducing torque ripple and parameter robust.

Vehicle scheduling Optimization of Hazardous materials is one of effective means to prevent accidents and reduce the loss of lives and property. This paper studies the vehicle scheduling problem of Hazardous materials based on the transportation risks which vary with time, taking into account the cost constraints and allowing for waiting at the nodes of the network, that is, our problem is a risk-based constrained path-selection one together with the determination of the departure and waiting times at each node on the selected path in the time-dependent networks. After a mixed integer programming model is proposed, a novel heuristic algorithm is designed. The computational complexity of the algorithm is also analyzed. Finally, a numerical example is presented to show its validity and feasibility of this algorithm.

A modified path planning approach is presented for mobile robot in the paper. First a new environment model called danger degree map (DDM) is constructed in order to provide more rich environment information than grids map. Then the equidistant distributed PSO whose fitness function is the weighted sum of the path length and the path danger degree is introduced to get a more reliable path than conventional PSO method, but it is not suitable for some specific environment. In order to expand the application scope of PSO, we proposed non-equidistant distributed PSO method based on the rate of change of barrier, which can enhance the adaptability to the environment. The algorithm present in the paper not only has a simple model and a rapid convergence, but also can avoid obstacles automatically and can obtain optimal path in different environments. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed methods.

The quay crane scheduling problem discussed in this paper is to schedule a fixed number of cranes in order to load and unload containers into and from a vessel considering interference between cranes. This study proposes a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to obtain solutions, and the performance of it is assessed by comparing with the lower bound which is calculated from CPLEX by relaxing the noninterference constraints.

The stable constraint conditions of cascade PID controller were obtained by generalized Hermite-Biehler theorem, and an optimal controller was researched. Through mind evolutionary algorithm(MEA), optimal cascade PID controller parameters were found. According to the defects lying in mind evolutionary algorithm, the niche technique is developed to improve MEA in this paper. The swarm is classified and reduced the searching zone, which keeps the swarm diversity and to speed up optimization. Based on parameter optimization and tuning for the main steam temperature cascade control systems in power plants with serious parameter uncertainty, multi-disturbance and large delay, the simulation results show that this method has the advantages of fast optimization and low computational complexity; it is very effective for cascade PID parameter optimization and endues main steam temperature control systems with better control qualities and better system robustness.

Aiming at the deficiencies of the mature object-oriented simulation modeling method for Production System, the aspect-oriented extension of UML is completed based on the Senior Properties of UML extension mechanism. As an example of the typical maintenance cross-cutting concerns, the aspect-oriented modeling method of the production line simulation system is studied by using the expansion of UML. For the inadequacy of the existing simulation software, extension method of eM-Plant is proposed based on component-based structure. These researches offer the gist to the primary simulation system.

Stress wave propagation is examined in nickel single crystals nano-film using molecular dynamics. The x, y and z direction correspond to the crystallographic orientation [100], [011] and [0–11], respectively. Two kind of shear stress is loaded along x-axis, which is also loaded along z-axis. One is the 0.36Gpa square pulse shear stress, which can be maintained 1ps, and the other is the 0.36Gpa constant shear stress. The simulation result shows that the stress transfer in the metal film is according to the way of wave, and there is time lag in the progress of stress wave propagation. The properties of wave reflected from fixed and free end are different. The stress reversal is a characteristic of the free end, and the stress multiplication phenomenon is a characteristic of the fixed end. The wave speed is different, as the stress wave propagates along the different lattice direction. This is consistent with the macroscopic conclusion.
