Research Article: Morphometric study and identification of external parasites in Hypophthalmichthys molitrix breeders in Guilan, Iran 研究论文:伊朗桂兰地区小眼密鱼(hypophthalmithys molitrix)养殖种群外源寄生虫形态测定及鉴定

The parasites that normally cause fish disease under farming condition possess a direct life cycle with no need to intermediate hosts for dissemination. The ensuing infection can therefore spread rapidly inducing more damaging lesions in the external parts of host especially the gills. In this study, in order to isolate and identify foreign parasites of phytophagous fish in Guilan province, 4 farms were selected by cluster method from silver carp breeding farms around Rasht and 16 pieces of fish in 6 stages for 6 months from April to September 2020. The fish transported live to fish health lab, underwent individual clinical observation of their skin, fins and gills with at least 10 moist extended samples prepared for each part. Isolation and morphometric identification of samples were carried out via microscopic examinations. The collected data were statistically analysed using Excel version 2010 and SPSS 20 software. The results of the study showed a similar infestation outbreak of L. Trichodina on the fish fins and gills with no significant difference (p>0.05). Dactyl gyrus spp was more prevalent in fish gills and fins than on skin (p<0.05) but the prevalence rate of Dactylogyrus spp, chilodonellosis, cryptobia and Ichthyophthirius on the gills of phytophagous breeders were more than the rest of examined areas showing a significant difference with that of skin and gills (p<0.05).

Research Article: Chlorophyta algae of Keban Dam Lake Gülüşkür region with aquaculture criteria in Elazıg, Turkey 研究文章:土耳其Elazıg克班坝湖g<s:1> <s:1> <s:1> k<e:1> r地区的绿藻养殖标准

Algae can be used as indicator for water quality, which could be a benefit for fish health. In this study, algae and water samples were taken from three selected stations from Keban Dam Lake Gülüşkür Region were investigated for six months between March 2015 and August 2015. A total of 48 taxa belonging to Chlorophyta were recorded during the study. Members of Chlorophyta showed their best growth in July and August, when light and temperature increased. Species belonging to Scenedesmus, Pediastrum, Ankistrodesmus and Oocystis genera were the most important members of phytoplankton with their frequency of occurrence and the size of the populations they formed.
藻类可作为水质指标,对鱼类健康有益。本研究于2015年3月至2015年8月在克班坝湖g k r地区选取三个站点采集藻类和水样,进行了为期六个月的调查。研究共记录到绿藻门48个分类群。7月和8月是绿藻生长的最佳时期,此时光照和温度均有所增加。浮游植物中最重要的浮游植物属有场景藻属(Scenedesmus)、Pediastrum属(Pediastrum)、Ankistrodesmus属(Ankistrodesmus)和卵囊藻属(Oocystis)。

Little tuna (Euthynnus affinis) is an important economics commodity consumed daily. This study aims to identify the type of endoparasites that infect little tuna (E. affinis), calculate and analyze the prevalence and intensity of endoparasitic helminth that infect E. affinis in Fish Auction Place Muncar, Banyuwangi Regency and Panarukan, Situbondo Regency. The method used in this research is a survey method by sampling at the research location directly. Totally 150 samples were taken, three times. The parameters of this study are the prevalence and intensity of endoparasitic helminth. The results showed that the endoparasitic helminths which infecte little tuna were larvae of Anisakis simplex, Rhadinorhyncus cololabis and Rhipidocotyle sp. Research Article: Histopathological features of infection by Streptococcus iniae in Persian sturgeon, Acipenser persicus 研究文章:波斯鲟(Acipenser persicus)感染猪链球菌的组织病理学特征

The present study evaluated the susceptibility of juvenile Persian sturgeon, Acipenser persicus, to Streptococcus iniae. Fish were intraperitoneally injected with 4.7 × 10 CFU fish. The control fish received sterile normal saline (PBS) intraperitoneally. The fish were monitored for clinical signs, and mortalities were recoded daily for two weeks post-challenge. Moribund and/or freshly dead fish were immediately removed for biopsy and/or necropsy, gross evaluation, and histopathological examinations, and the cause of mortality was confirmed by re-isolation of the S. iniae from kidney or spleen using standard microbiological tests. Mortality rates were in ranged from 20.83 to 83.33% within 48 to 120 h post challenge. Hepatocyte vacuolization, focal necrosis and melano-macrophage aggregation were dominant histological findings in affected fish. (E-mail: isharifpour@yahoo.com). Severe meningitis with massive inflammatory cells infiltration and vacuolation were also detected in the brain layers. In addition, the kidney tissues exhibited severe necrosis, diffused tubular degeneration, hyaline exudates accumulation in tubular lumens, shrinkage of glomeruli, dilation of Bowman’s space, cellular infiltration and interstitial tissue necrosis. Hyperemia and inflammatory cells infiltration in the base of primary lamella were the most common histopathological signs of gills. In the eye sections, congestion, hemorrhage and degeneration of the retinal layers were also observable. These histopathological findings show that juvenile Persian sturgeon is a highly susceptible species to S. iniae thus, raising a high risk of streptococcosis outbreaks in sturgeon aquaculture either in freshwater or marine environments.

Review Article: Wound healing by functional compounds of Echinodermata, Spirulina and chitin products: A review 棘皮类、螺旋藻类和几丁质类功能性化合物的创面愈合研究进展

Wound healing in humans and animals, occurs with a completely complex and advanced mechanism of stages: inflammation, proliferation, repair and regeneration. So far, many health and financial costs have been incurred in human society due to a lack of timely repairs. Therefore, in modern knowledge to heal all kinds of wounds, reduce repair time and prevent infection, much consideration is paid to the use of natural treatment methods and the use of biological science. In the meantime, seas have opened up a wide range of natural medicines for us. If new pharmacological findings show positive results from aquatic effects such as sea cucumber, sea urchin, starfish, algae and their products such as alginate and chitosan, they can be introduced as antibacterial, anti-coagulant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-parasitic, anti-viral, antiprotozoan and anti-fungal compounds. In these products, many repair factors have been proven such as prevention of wounds from infections caused by bacterial, fungal and viral microorganisms, ease of use of the product, cheapness and availability, the ability to clean secretions and protect the skin, prevent the growth of granular tissue and repair fast without allergenic reactions. According to studies, Seaderived products may increase proinflammatory factors and inhibit inflammatory factors, thereby enhancing wound healing. These factors increase the production of cytokines in wound sites. By increasing the command of phagocytic cells, cytokines cleanse the wound and prevent infection. In addition, stimulation of keratinocyte migration to wound edges, proliferation and differentiation of fibroblasts, and regulation of extracellular matrix proteins are mediated by the release of extra cytokines and growth factors.

The main objective of the current study was to analyze the proximate composition and the amino acid profile of the Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus). Forty-eight fish (with an initial weight of 96.60± 7.45 g) were randomly sampled from a local sturgeon farm in Mazandaran, Iran. The proximate analysis of the fish body showed 24.38 ± 1.62 g/100g ww of dry matter, 61.52 ± 1.65 g/100g dw of crude protein, 10.53 ± 0.18 g/100g dw of lipid, 16.48 ± 1.3 g/100g dw of ash, 0.94 ± 0.03 % of NH3, and 2.45 ± 0.18 % of phosphorus. Overall, the Persian sturgeon is not only an invaluable source of protein (i.e., essential and non-essential amino acids), but it can also assist farmers and researchers in formulating fish diets based on their real nutrition needs.

Review Article: The impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on aquatic food production: A review 综述:2019冠状病毒病大流行对水产食品生产的影响

The novel pandemic disease has been evaluated as a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO) due to its rapid spread worldwide. In many countries, the established restrictive measures on the movement and travel have had adverse economic outcomes, including a substantial drop in both jobs and salaries, in these communities. The economic consequences of the COVID-19 have severely affected the aquatic food supply chain, i.e. the fishers, aquaculture farmers, processing, and marketing sector due to the decrease in consumer purchasing power. There is increasing evidence that the farmers are not able to sell their products which lead to the live fish stocks increasing and therefore higher costs for feeding. Correspondence F. Research Article: The effect of different concentrations of Lacticaseibacillus casei on the growth performance and intestinal morphology of zebrafish (Danio rerio) 研究论文:不同浓度干酪乳杆菌对斑马鱼生长性能和肠道形态的影响

Considering the increasing rate of antibiotic resistance and consequently the need for using alternative compounds to increase immunity and prevent diseases, the present study aimed to investigate the effects of Lacticaseibacillus casei on the growth indices and intestinal morphology of adult zebrafish. This study was conducted on 80 zebrafish (mean weight: 0.25±0.05 g and mean length: 2.5±0.05 cm), which were assigned to four groups with two replications. Three of the groups received L. casei at each of the concentrations of 1.5×10, 1.5×10, 1.5×10 CFU/ml, and one served as the control, which was fed with the basic diet. Samples were collected to examine the weight (W), length (TL), condition factor (CF), and intestinal morphological changes of the fish at the end of the study. The results showed that the probiotic diet boosted the weight and length of the fish compared to the control group (p>0.05). Based on the results of this study and observed increased length of intestinal villous after being fed with L. casei, which will subsequently increase the nutrient absorption and growth of fish, it is recommended to use this probiotic at the indicated concentrations (1.5×10 CFU/ml) as a dietary supplement.

Effect of gamma irradiation on the shelf-life of vacuum-packaged silver carp surimi in 4 °C γ辐照对真空包装鲢鱼鱼糜4℃贮存期的影响

The current study investigates the effect of gamma radiation (0, 1, 3, 5, 7 kGy) and vacuum packaging on shelf-life of silver carp surimi stored at 4 oC based on variations in pH, peroxide value (PV), thiobarbituric acid (TBA), total volatile nitrogen bases (TVB-N), free fatty acids (FFA), colorimetric parameters (L*, a*, b*), total viable bacterial count (TVC) and textural profile analysis during 15 days. The results indicated that pH did not change with gamma radiation (P> 0.05). Results of oxidative index showed that PV and TBA in surimi reduced significantly with an increase in gamma radiation (P< 0.05) while their increased by increasing the storage time. Irradiation and the storage time significantly increased TVB-N content (P< 0.05). The increase the radiation dose (up to 7 kGy) and the storage time (up to 15 days) had a significant increasing effect on FFA in refrigerated surimi. Correspondence L. Based on the textural profile analysis it was found that increasing radiation dose and storage time reduced the hardness and chewing ability indices. According to the microbiological and chemical results, the optimal storage time for surimi, compare to the control (0 kGy) treatment, was measured for 7 kGy treatment which could increase the storage time by 3 days compared to the control.

Inhibitory activity of native probiotic Bacillus vallismortis IS03 against pathogenic Vibrio harveyi under in vitro and in vivo conditions in Litopenaeus vannamei 原生益生菌vallismortis IS03在体外和体内条件下对致病性哈威弧菌的抑制活性研究

An excellent alternative for chemical antimicrobial agents to prevent disease in the shrimp aquaculture is the application of effective probiotics. The present study was evaluated the effect of Bacillus vallismortis IS03 as a native probiotic, isolated from digestive tract of Litopenaeus vannamei on pathogenic Vibrio harveyi under in vitro and in vivo circumstances. Co-cultivation of V. harveyi and B. vallismortis showed significantly (P<0.05) decreased the growth of V. harveyi in the treatment groups compared to the control. Cell-free extracts of B. vallismortis IS03 exhibited more appropriate antibacterial effects on replication of V. harveyi. The highest and lowest inhibitory effects were respectively shown in10 and 10 CFU ml of B. vallismortis IS03 cell-free extracts. The probiotic potential of B. vallismortis IS03 was assessed through the groups of control and the experiments 10, 10 and 10 CFU ml salt water once every 3 days from zoea1 process to end point of the study. Shrimp survival was determined after 10 days of challenge with V. harveyi at 10 5 CFU ml (for the first 5 days) and 10 7 CFU ml (for the second 5 days).The cumulative mortality in the treatment with 10 CFU ml of B. vallismortis IS03 reached 11.88% compared to 40.63% in the control group. At the end of the trial, total bacterial counts on TSA, total vibrio on TCBS were significantly (P<0.05) lower in the 10 CFU ml treatment group. Bacillus counts on MYP agar in the treatment groups were significantly (P<0.05) higher than the control, also total bacterial counts was lower in the treatment groups, while, no vibrio were grown in the muscle tissues of shrimp treated with probiotics. It is concluded that 10 CFU ml of probiotic, B. vallismortis IS03 has antibacterial efficiency against pathogenic V. harveyi at in vitro and in vivo conditions.
