The teachings and theological contributions of Saint Peter constitute the doctrinal bedrock upon which the incipient early Church was erected, thereby bequeathing a durable heritage of sagacious precepts and counsel extracted from his profoundly intimate interactions with Jesus and his spiritual journey. These profound doctrinal tenets not only convey perennial verities but also establish a robust underpinning that has delineated the way for the development and metamorphosis of the Church within the socio-religious milieu of the Judeo-Pagan world.

At the dawn of time, extremely complex issues of alleviating users of humanity in various forms, as well as being situated and accessible in contexts, but independent of network access, require statutory responses constantly anew in an intensely evolving reality.Interesting in this respect are hermeneutic-phenomenological and dialogical confirmatory measures, taking into account the focusing of attention in established investigations in this field on the experience of evil by people and persons who are its perpetrators, in convention, understanding and interpreting the limitations and experience of a person’s place in world. In the opinion of Józef Tischner and Leszek Kołakowski, the problem of evil is one of the main trends in reflection and a problem for all the issues raised in their treatment of problem areas in their lives and works.

The present paper elaborates on the meaning-making processes of leaving the Roman Catholic Church in Poland as indicated in the material coming from interviews and posts published on the Facebook group “Apostazja 2020”. Analysing biographical narratives concerning the experience of apostasy, we are inquiring whether it betrays traces of a rite of passage. Briefly, we present apostasy as social and religious phenomena, but we draw particular attention to the state of Catholic religiosity in Poland. We are seeking an answer to the question whether the act of apostasy is a transformative experience, a liminal moment which affects a person’s sense of identity and opens a new phase in life.

The aim of this article is to examine the processes of nomination and ways of enriching the stock of special lexis concerning amber on the basis of the names collected in Wiktor Kozłowski’s Słownik leśny, bartny, bursztyniarski i orylski (Dictionary of Forestry, Beekeeping, Amber and Oryls, published 1846-1847). The author recorded vocabulary of varying territorial (mainly from central Poland) and socio-lectal range. We can arrange the recorded names semantically into three overarching groups: I. names pertaining to amber itself; II. names of people professionally involved in amber mining; III. names related to amber mining. This is the professional lexis used by amber workers when extracting amber from the ground. In the collection we find mainly nomenclatural names of objects. It contains lexemes taken from the general language and from dialects, as well as – conventionally enriching the stock of special lexis – word-forming neologisms, neosemantisms and borrowings.

Modern jewelry has its origins in ancient times. Among the jewelry motifs used by jewelers and other artists, some of the most popular are elements of fauna and flora, as evidenced by the assortment offered by the companies: Aparat, Kruk and Yes. Due to the very large cross-section and diversity of the analyzed material, it is difficult to make specific calculations regarding individual motifs. Most often, they appear in a series whose name includes the type of jewelry, the material from which the element is made, and the name of the floristic or faunal element, which means that all nominations have at least three components (e.g. silver cat pendant).

Language is the primary form of communication. Its role encompasses both the description of real reality and the definition of certain materially non-existent states. With social development, the burden of discourse is increasingly shifting from the physical to the metaphysical realm. Language becomes a tool for creating reality. The emergence of any concept serves to create a linguistic reality that facilitates understanding of the surrounding reality. In the case of abstract concepts, the creative function of language is particularly important. We can distinguish concepts that by their extensiveness include components of real states, such as love, evil, good. However, there are concepts whose creation was dictated only by the desire to justify the institution, such as dignity. Abstract concepts perform many social functions. Such a wide participation of abstract concepts in key areas of social life poses numerous threats to community functioning, development and peace, including by inhibiting scientific progress, ossification of institutional structures or breakdown of social ties. The purpose of the article is to raise awareness of the essence of given concepts in society and on the necessity of limiting the use of these concepts in key spheres of social life, such as law, politics and economics.

The article discusses the origin of the Thracian noun pitúē (πιτύη) f. ‘treasury’, preserved as an explanatory gloss in the ancient Scholia in Apollonium Rhodium (I 933). Most linguists believe that the gloss in question is etymologically unclear. It is suggested that Thracian pitúē represents a nomen collectivum, derived from the Indo-European archetype *pitús m. ‘nourishment, food’ by means of the collective suffix *-uu̯ā (< PIE.*-uu̯eh2), which is productive in Baltic and Slavic. The Thracian word pitúē must have originally denoted ‘a collection of food, food stock, food products’, from which secondarily ‘food repository, store-house, magazine’, and finally ‘treasury’, as well as ‘treasure’.

The socioeconomic status (SES) of a learner’s family of origin plays an important role in the process of learning a foreign language, a skill that is currently indispensable to function in a dynamically changing reality. This status, imposed by the conditions in the family environment, dictates the educational path of an individual, their personality, interests, and resources. The article presents how and to what extent economic and social status creates the linguistic educational path of students with diverse needs. It points to two prominent issues: the role of parents, teachers and the school environment, and peer relations and their role in compensating for deficits related to foreign language learning.
