The article studies two different Russian translations of Jane Austen's “Pride and Prejudice”: those by I. S. Marshak and A. Gryzunova. The two of these texts were compared on the basis of the family dialogues in the novel. The object of study is the phraseological units used within these dialogues. It is shown that the translation of phraseological units in the novel can be interpreted in terms of the “squaring of a circle”, one of the translator's strategies not skipping the “close angles”, and the other one, on the contrary, intentionally smoothing them.

Over the past ten years, Russia has been building a system of effective state financial management. Particularly, it is implemented by reforming the Federal Executive bodies that are currently transforming the digital economy. The realities of the present time dictate the need to improve the methodology, forms, and technology of the process of financial management. Moreover, development of the concept of “financial management” is necessary. Note that this concept is not determined in the normative legal acts of the Russian Federation at the legislative level. This leads to multiple discussions and the formation of different points of view on its definition. In this article, the authors analyze the concept of “financial management” in the Russian and foreign literature and provide their own definition of this term.

An effective method of obtaining new 6,7,8-trifluoro- and 5,6,7,8-tetrafluorosubstituted 2-aryl-4-oxo-4H-chromene-3-carboxylates and 2-(polyfluoroaryl)-4Hchromene-4-ones has been developed. The chemical aspects of their synthesis were studied, specific features of the interaction were found depending on the structure of the initial fluorine-containing substrates and reaction conditions.

The article presents field and calculation methods for determining the rock hardness at the chrysotile-asbestos deposit mined by the open–pit mining. The methods presented are necessary for technological improvement of mining (including optimization of drilling and blasting operations), which, in the turn, improves the economic feasibility of the chrysotile-asbestos mining.

A promising direction in producing the special-purpose plates is to increase their physical and mechanical characteristics, reduce toxicity, and use highperformance equipment. The article analyzes the results of experiments to determine the physicomechanical parameters of particle board. Using a colloidal solution of nanosilver, the optimal models of layer-by-layer introduction of nanosilver into the structure of particle board (as a formaldehyde absorber) are determined. The use of colloidal solutions of nanosized particles of various metals significantly improves a number of operational and technological properties of materials that would raise the quality of life of people to a new health-saving level. The article is an overview based on the principles of a systematic approach to using the sound methods and techniques of scientific research and contevporary means of scientific investigation.

The article considers field emission cathodes from industrial graphites MG, MPG-7, and GMZ operated in the pulse-periodic mode with the pulse repetitionrate of 1 to 30 Hz. The operation of field emitters in the pulsed mode differs from operation at a constant voltage. Under stabilization of the high potential level, the amplitude of the pulses of the emission current decreases that leads to increasing the operating voltage in the pulsed mode. During operation of the graphite cathode (when the pulse current is recorded), the operating voltage at the anode stabilizes and oscillates within 5%. Operation in the direct current mode under similar conditions is accompanied by a change in the voltage value by more than 10 %.

On the basis of an interdisciplinary synthesis of historiography and semiotics, the article proposes a new way of analysing the conceptions of historians, who studied the war between the Moscow state and the Commonwealth in the middle of the XVII century. The attention is paid not to the search for genetic links and biographical pages in the writings of researchers working in the same era. But discovery is presented of the speech units that affect the production of discourses that add up specific narratives. The author seeks to trace the processes of convergence or estrangement of scientific ideas with/from the state request, which was delivered after the January uprising of 1863–1864 in the provinces of the Kingdom of Poland (Congress Poland) and the Northwest Krai. Therefore, the aim of the study is to verify the author's vision of the usefulness and complementarity of the semiotic understanding of the interaction of the text and its creator with the history of ideas. Such understanding is a significant part of the process of historiographic accumulation of information. Concretely, the author applies this synthesis to the micro level, i. e., to the stage of specific historical research.
