In the future, intelligent tools will enhance or replace human competences in various fields. AI is the intelligence displayed by software or machines. It is the sub brunch of computer science. AI is becoming a common field in space exploration. Artificial Intelligence (AI) allows the inbuilt software or machines to act like human beings which enables these tools to reason, come up with decisions, talk, analyze data, perceive and act. The human living in the space needs sophisticated tools, and the effective implements are intelligent machines. Just as the application of computers for data processing has become pervasive in space programs across the globe, the developed software will be used in every aspect of space settlement for which advanced intelligence is an investment.

North Central Province is the largest province in Sri Lanka. But gaining poor results for Mathematics in General Certificate in ordinary level (G.C.E. - O/L) is an intense problem in the province. (Table 01) Many reports including reports from the Department of Examination national Evaluation Testing Services show that more than fifty percent of students have obtained poor (W) grade for the mathematics subject in the G.C.E. - O/L Examination. Therefore, it is conducted several surveys to find the root courses for this situation and suggested a remedy to overcome the situation. From these surveys, it is revealed that poor knowledge of primary level mathematics concepts is one of leading factor for this situation. So, it is suggested an Agent based E learning system as a remedy. In any E learning system, taking psychometric measurements and data clustering are very important. In this paper, it is shown the new Item response Theory model that suit for E learning and clustering probability values that calculated from new IRT model using k means algorithm.

In present digital world, fast and resource optimized execution of basic mathematical operations such as multiplication, division, square-root etc. play an important role. There are enormous algorithm where it is necessary to calculate square-root. After addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, square-root is most important mathematical operation. Therefore, this paper presents fast, resource optimized, and floating point square-root algorithm. Three different algorithms such as 1) non-restoring algorithm 2) IEEE 754 floating point square-root algorithm and 3) Logarithmic square-root algorithm, are implemented on Xilinxs Spartan 3E and compared for resource utilization and execution clocks. Comparison shows that IEEE 754 floating point square-root algorithm outperforms with the throughput as 50MSPS consuming 60% less resources than logarithmic square-root algorithm.

The kite power is an efficient method to produce electricity compared to the other methods at present. The kite power converts the wind energy to electricity. The kite power uses two paragliding kites to produce the electricity. Tethers are wounded on the turbine shaft of the generator, the two free ends of the tethers on the turbine are connected to the kites which will be airborne. The kites will pull the tethers which in turn rotates the turbine of the generator. Each kite works flies in opposite direction (both horizontally and vertically). The kites trajectory will be controlled by an onboard robotic part which’ll pull the control lines of the kites. The kite will be controlled by the ground station which is fully autonomous.

Technological revolution in the recent past has enabled the concept of Smart City for urban development. Smart City concept is conceived with the objectives of providing better services to the citizens and improves the quality of life. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Internet of Things (IoT) made smart city applications as much simpler and effective. Big data technologies play a major role in smart city applications. This paper gives an overview of the role of big data in building smart city applications and proposes a framework for real time big data analytics. Real-time big data analytics help in making better decisions and more accurate predictions at right time to offer better services to the citizens. Here, we discussed some of important solutions and services for the smart city where the real-time big data analytics helps in improving the quality of services in smart city applications.

In India eradicating black money has become a major issue. Though government has taken several steps to eradicate black money but reports on government policy shows that steps taken by government was not very successful. But with the advent new technologies it is possible to completely remove black money of the market. This paper describes a smart way using modern advanced technology to eradicate black money and fake currency in a simple and efficient manner. This can be achieved by using one of the most popular technology like NFCs or high frequency RFID tag. These tags can be integrated inside the currency and each paper currency can be tracked and accounted at all time and place. This paper puts forward a cost efficient solution to long time problem of black money.

Baseball one of the most popular sports in the United States and are worth billions of dollars. American League (AL) is a premium baseball championship in North America. The goal of the paper is to predict the winner of the 2017 American League Baseball Championship. There are various factors in the game which can influence the win for a team. We are considering four major factors among the other factors Home/Away, Day/Night, Ranking, and Division respectively. The data was taken from previous AL match records and has been preprocessed by converting nominal values into binary values for prediction purpose. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique was used to predict the winner of the game and conclude.

World Health Organization(WHO) predicts that by the end of 2020, 20% of India’s population will suffer from some form of mental illness. The person suffers from common mental illness such as experiencing stress, complexities of living and throughout frustration. The proposed project aims at decreasing mental stress and experiencing multidisciplinary sensory actions for those with intellectual disabilities(internal stress) by Snoezelen. Snoezelen is a therapy for people with psychological disabilities which are specially designed to deliver stimuli to various senses, using lighting effects, colours, sounds, smell etc. The existing system provides relaxation through color changing panel, bubble tube with four-switch with voice activation. The objectives of proposed system are to provide relaxation to stressed people by monitoring the various biosignals like blood volume pulse, electrodermal activities of skin, skin temperature and respiration rate. The controller provides a multisensory output in accordance to biosignal input until the person become stress-free. The snoezelen arrangement and stress monitoring software cordially helps to reduce the stress. It overcomes the difficulties in number of psychiatrists through relaxation by snoezelen box.

The paradigm of IoT for smart trash bin has basically three components: Server, Thing and Master. Master indicates the admin, sewage cleaners, and residents of the city who are granted special authorization to the system by end-user devices (e.g. Smartphone, PC, or tablet). The central part of the entire trash bin system is the server. All the devices that are related to IoT in today’s world are driven on the basics of the IoT as a network of devices that interface specifically with each other for catching and sharing real-time data through a secure socket layer (SSL) that connects to a specific control server in the cloud. The integration of micro sensors and micro-actuators in products will provide the opportunity to the city dwellers to keep the city neat and clean. The main motivation behind developing a smart trash bin system is to efficiently manage the garbage of our cities. In today’s world we can see that the garbage in the cities are not cleaned properly when they are up to the brim which results in overflowing of garbage and ultimately making the city unhygienic to reside in. To get rid of this, Smart trash bin is designed with different sensors embedded into it so as to keep track of the garbage status and get it cleaned when threshold condition is met and data analytics is done to properly analyze and manage waste materials.

References for books and articles require specific components. Identification of various components of the references is an important task in publishing industry. It also can facilitate the automatic categorization of the articles. This work is an attempt to represent the components of references using a list of parameters using various visual and syntactic features. The components are then classified using multi layer perceptron (MLP). The effectiveness of the proposed classifier is demonstrated on journal articles and is found to produce satisfactory result. It can be applied for other references as well. Moreover, other classification tools such as Bayes’ classifier or support vector machine (SVM) can be used in this regard.
