For health and care systems to succeed in the future, primary head nurses must demonstrate leadership. A focus group discussion was used to assess the primary head nurses' leadership abilities in 2022 in Albania. The focus group was composed of 12 primary head health care nurses, two men and ten women, with a mean age of 40 ± (SD) years old. Eight participants were charged with the duty of head nurse for more than five years, while seven participants were in the position of paid head nurse for more than five years. The majority of nurses reported they lack a clearly defined, written job description relevant to the position. Additionally, they stated that they lacked a reference work plan based on which to organize and coordinate the associated healthcare service activities. Participants indicated that the role of the head nurse in daily practice is more focused on the work as a service nurse than as a head nurse. The majority of nurses reported having never received training expressly related to their role as head nurses. The most crucial aspects of the head nurse position were efficient planning and organization of work, vaccination, infrastructure improvement, and the effective use of human resources. The results of this study can be used by head nurses in primary healthcare settings to address and deal with problems in their leadership roles. The findings can also be used by policymakers when developing new regulations or guidelines for nursing leadership competencies. In addition to functioning in a crisis situation, nurse leaders have to demonstrate their capacity for effective leadership and transparent communication. In this regard, training is recommended.

Introduction: Health education is the strongest tool we have, because through it, it is possible to build a new positive relationship towards knowledge and food habits and also prevent potential health problems and chronic diseases related to nutrition. Purpose: Evaluation of the role of health education in Albania, through the comparison of healthy eating habits before and after health education. Methods: This is a Comparative Effectiveness Research, conducted in Albania, predominantly in the City of Vlora, during May-July 2020, using AFQPHALS, a survey that was distributed through social media, and was completed by 545 adult subjects. Results: The City of Vlora constitutes 55% of the sample; women were 75%, and aged 30± 11.5 years. Regarding the comparison of the studies before and after the education, it turned out that after the health education on healthy nutrition, the percentage of all food groups increased consumption of: 4 meals from 19% to 36%; breakfast every day from 50% to 90%; dinner every day from 43% to 66%; homemade food 7 or more servings per week from 45% to 56%; 3 servings of fruit per day from 13% to 15%; 2 servings of vegetables per day from 17% to 28%; drink water or liquids 4 or more glasses per day from 46% to 60%. The consumption of meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and cereals has also increased. Conclusions: Health education on healthy nutrition has had a positive impact on improving knowledge and food habits in the community for a short period of time.

Debating the existence and nature of a series of personality disorders, this study revolves around one of the most controversial of them, this being the passive-aggressive personality disorder. The history of its conceptualization is nuanced and complicated, this determining frequent changes in the disorder’s structure and objectiveness. The purpose of this paper is to observe if there are any connections between the passive-aggressiveness, hostility and age. For this scope, there were being used two instruments, which are The Hostility Scale and the Existential Attitudes Questionnaire. Analyzing the results, it was once again showed that passive-aggressiveness cannot be correlated with variables such as the hostility levels or the age of an individual, this once named disorder remaining as difficult to interpret as it was before the decision of erasing it from the “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders” (2013).

Health literacy is one of the areas most affected by advances in information technologies. The desperation of states around the world in the COVID-19 epidemic that emerged in early 2020 has increased the importance of the issue further. The problems faced by states in preventing the spread of the epidemic and directing their citizens make it necessary for people to increase their awareness of health issues. In this research, it is aimed to determine the health literacy levels of individuals living in the TRNC. In this context, 32-item health literacy scale (Turkey Health Literacy Scale-32) developed by Okyay, Abacıgil and Hagan (2013) was used. Data from 203 subjects in the study were collected and subjected to analysis. As a result of the analysis of the data, it was determined that the overall score increase for health literacy was 3.71 out of 5 (74 out of 100), the participants were in the "adequate" class in the assessment of health-related information and in the "excellent" class in other dimensions. While the level of health literacy did not differ depending on gender, marital status and the mode of action exhibited in the state of being ill, it was concluded that there was a statistically significant difference depending on the importance given to healthy nutrition and sports/exercise and satisfaction with health services.

The choice of ones partner plays an important role on the functionality of the couple, on the degree of cohesion and on the chances of stability. Theoretically, the choice of the conjugal partner in the contemporary space is a free one, not conditioned by families, material transactions or other types of strategies, that exclude the will of the partners. However, a series of cultural elements assimilated by individuals in their social environments consistently mark their influence in this selection process. Today, the most common criterion regarding the selection of the conjugal partner is that related to homogamy, therefore, the free choice must be understood as a composition with different weights, built from cultural assimilations from the community where the conjugal partner became socialized him and which holds subjective elements specific to personal ideals. However, the contemporary space offers the premise of a rethinking of the homogamic principle, its borders being resized and, at the same time, reassembled in a much freer manner. If once upon a time, spatial and cultural proximity influenced the decisions of choosing a spouse, today, virtual space offers the individual the possibility of constructing criteria with a triple advantage: the possibility of choice, independent of the general norm of the cultural community, the unlimited expansion of proximity, the cancellation or reduction of the reference of the community censorship. Today, individuals no longer reproduce the marital functionality learned in their families of origin. Young people build new relationships that correspond to personal ideals and this type of new attitudes increasingly stimulate relational individualism and, by extension, another type of society, that will reduce to a minimum the old claims of social conformity.

Amputation is the intentional removal, by surgery, of a limb segment or part of the body. By increasing the degree of urbanization and automation around the world, accidents are the most important cause of morbidity and mortality. Lower limb amputation is a life-changing event and has an impact on functional, work, social and recreational activities. Amputation can lead people to lose self-esteem, independence and work. Quality of life it is as a wide range of human experiences related to one's general well-being. For the specific psychosocial and functional testing of people who have undergone an amputation TAPES is more frequently used. The study included 7 patients with amputation of lower limbs, prostheses, who underwent unilateral or bilateral amputation of traumatic genesis at work. Patients filled in the Trinity Amputation and Prosthesis Experience questionnaire in order to estimate quality of life and Rosenberg scale to assess self-esteem. The adaptation to wearing the prosthesis is reported by 71.42% and more than 50% of the subjects are satisfied with their prosthesis. The factors with the greatest impact on functional abilities proved to be: the level of amputation, the duration of living with the amputation limb, the presence of other pathologies and psycho-emotional status. Medical rehabilitation programs improve the functional and psycho-emotional abilities of patients with lower limb amputations.

Objective: To research the results of the microsurgical treatment of symptomatic internal carotid artery stenosis by Carotid Endarterectomy in the acute period of a stroke that were performed in the Neurosurgery Department of IMSP IMU. Materials and Methods: A retrospective data collection was conducted on all consecutive patients surgically treated for an extra-cranial internal carotid artery (ICA) hemodynamic stenosis in the Neurosurgery Department of the Emergency Medicine Institute,in Chisinau (Rebublic of Moldova),between February 2019 and March 2021.All patients undergoing ICA endarterectomy for symptomatic carotid stenosis (SCS) within 48 hours and 14 days after the acute neurologic onset were included in the present study.Outcomes were evaluated by a prospective follow-up. Primary outcomes were the rate of postoperative ipsilateral stroke, myocardial infarction (MI), peripheral nerve injury, hematoma in the operating area and death.Secondary outcomes were the rate of local and systemic complications. The results were stratified according NIHSS score and comorbidities 30 days after surgery, and a multivariate analysis were performed in order to define any correlation between preoperative data and postoperative outcomes. Results: A total of 40 patients (10 %, n 4 bilateral and 90%, n 36 unilateral) underwent carotid endarterectomy (CEA) for hemodynamically significant ICA stenosis. According to inclusion criteria (22% women vs 78% men; median age 64 years, range: 54-76; median preoperative NIHSS score 4, range 0-18) all patients affected by SCS were enrolled in the present study. Median delay for surgery was 6 days (range: 2-14).During in-hospital post-operative period the combined death/stroke/MI rate was 0%.In-hospital NIHSS score improved post-operatively of more than 2 points (range 0-12) in 45.7% of cases.Microsurgical CEA is accompanied,in most cases by the regression of neurological symptoms and it is not correlated with the increased risk for a hemorrhagic transformation. No local and systemic complications were registered. The stratification of outcomes according to NIHSS status, sex, comorbidities did not show any statistical relation neither at 30 days nor at the long term-follow up. Conclusion: In properly selected patients with a SCS, affected by an acute ischemic stroke, early carotid endarterectomy can be performed without any complications or worsening of neurological status in comparison with similar cases in a longer period after a stroke.

Postmodern ethics precisely regulate the actions of the postmodern individual. Unlike modern ethics, that have an imperative character, postmodern ethics are constructed and adapted to a changing society, in the context of the ever-accelerating development of technology and the transhumanist proposals for bioimprovement. Thus, postmodern ethics propose a set of norms intended to contribute to the creation and shaping of desirable behavior in the current socio-cultural context. The analysis of postmodern ethics in this paper is made due to the fact that a number of proposals, such as transhumanist ones, are controversial and are intensely debated in scientific communities. An example in this sense is given by Julian Săvulescu, in the article "Deaf lesbians «designer disability», and the future of medicine", which raises a series of questions regarding bioimprovement and what the use of new technologies in order to create disabilities entails.

Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) is an ongoing global pandemic, which was isolated for the first time in Wuhan (China), in December 2019. Although this virus is most well known for causing respiratory pathologies, in medical practice, there are being reported more cases with heterogenous cutaneous presentations. These lesions manifest at various times in relation to COVID-19 symptoms, which may indicate whether the lesions are virus-induced or are delayed immunological responses to the infection. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the distribution, types, and highest skin manifestations of Covid-19. Finding the potential link between Covid-19 and cutaneous manifestations may help to understand the pathogenesis and best policies in disease control. The pathophysiology of these lesions remains under study and still unclear. To achieve this goal, a transversal study was conducted on the population, the period March 1, 2021, to July 16, 2021. Out of 205 suspected / laboratory-confirmed people, there were 13 people with cutaneous signs, of which 13 were female and 9 were male. The most common morphological form was morbilliform rash, chicken-pox-like vesicles, and urticarial rash.
