Simulation and RTDS Hardware implementation of SHAF for current harmonics cancellation using Id-Iq control strategy with PI and fuzzy controllers 基于PI和模糊控制器的Id-Iq控制策略的SHAF电流谐波消除的硬件实现

The main objective of this paper is to develop PI and Fuzzy controllers to analyse the performance of instantaneous real active and reactive current (id-iq) control strategy for extracting reference currents of shunt active filters under balanced, unbalanced and balanced non-sinusoidal conditions. When the supply voltages are balanced and sinusoidal, the all control strategies are converge to the same compensation characteristics; However, the supply voltages are distorted and/or un-balanced sinusoidal, these control strategies result in different degrees of compensation in harmonics. The p-q control strategy unable to yield an adequate solution when source voltages are not ideal. Extensive simulations were carried out; simulations were performed with balance, unbalanced and non sinusoidal conditions. Simulation results validate the dynamic behaviour of fuzzy logic controller over pi controller. The 3-ph 4-wire shunt active filter (SHAF) system is also implemented on a Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS Hardware) to further verify its effectiveness. The detailed simulation and RT DS Hardware results are included.

In the latest years, pattern recognition, data mining, decision making, and networking have been used as new technologies for automatic classification problems. Classification techniques are needed to predict group membership for data instances. This entire advance tends to process raw data and extract information to obtain knowledge in order to make decisions and solve problems with less human aid. Many of the studies proposed in the literature are based on artificial intelligence (AI) techniques such as Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Fuzzy Logic (FL), Expert System (ES), etc. These techniques use feature vectors derived from disturbance waveforms to classify events. ANN has attracted a great deal of attention among these techniques because of their ability to handle noisy data and their learning capabilities. The disadvantage of neural networks is that they are notoriously slow, especially in the training phase but also in the application phase. Another significant disadvantage of neural networks is that it is very difficult to determine how the net is making its decision. Support Vector Machine (SVM) which is quite a new method and used in this work can overcome these deficiencies and provide efficient and powerful classification algorithms that are capable of dealing with high-dimensional input features and with theoretical bounds on the generalization error and sparseness of the solution provided by statistical learning theory.

Cascaded Multilevel Converter based DSTATCOM using p-q theory with DC link voltage balancing 基于p-q理论的DSTATCOM级联多电平变换器与直流链路电压平衡

This paper presents the p-q theory based DSTATCOM for reactive power management to control the power factor in a distribution system which serves resistance-reactance loads. Power factor which is one of the measures of power quality in a distribution system plays an important role in the optimal operation of the power system. The active management of reactive power proposed here with p-q theory based DSTATCOM lends itself to remote control of reactive power to improve the operational efficiency of the power system. This study is intended to evaluate the effectiveness of a controller based on the p-q theory coupled with a Cascaded Multilevel Converter (CMC) based DSTATCOM in managing the reactive power in the distribution system. Also as part of this study the ability of the independent P-I controllers to maintain the DC voltages constant across the multi-level H-Bridges of the CMC will be evaluated. The algorithm for the inverter control scheme based on a level shifted multi carrier based sinusoidal pulse width modulation scheme with In-Phase disposition will be tested. Ultimately the performance of the integrated CMC based DSTATCOM for reactive power management will be evaluated.

Modeling and control of a multi-machine power system with FACTS controller 基于FACTS控制器的多机电力系统建模与控制

Power system is usually modeled using a combination of differential and algebraic equations. Advanced control design generally requires that a system be represented by purely differential equations. In this paper, a new method to generate a nonlinear dynamic representation of the power network is introduced to enable more sophisticated control design. Once the new representation is obtained, a new method for nonlinear control design for power system with UPFC is provided. The proposed approach is a complementary way of solving the differential-algebraic equations, in which the control design is difficult to achieve. In the proposed method damping of power system oscillation is achieved in a nonlinear sense by defining an appropriate Lyapunov function. A back stepping methodology for the UPFC is utilized to mitigate the generator oscillations resulting from a disturbance such as three-phase to ground fault. Simulations on a two area power system demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested method.

The objective of the economic dispatch problem of electrical power generation is to schedule the committed generating unit's output so as to meet the required load demand while satisfying the system equality and inequality constraints. This paper solves the combined economic emission dispatch problem by Min-Max and Max-Max price penalty factor approaches using Lagrange's method. The price penalty factor for the combined economic emission dispatch (CEED) is the ratio of fuel cost to emission value. The literature papers reported that most of them use Max-Max Price penalty factor for the CEED problem. This paper analyses Min-Max and Max-Max price penalty factors for CEED problem. This problem is solved for a five generator system by considering the valve point effect for both fuel cost and emission function. The total fuel cost by considering valve point effect of the combined economic emission dispatch problem is less when using Min-Max price penalty factor approach in comparison to Max-Max price penalty factor.

A proposal for distributed architecture for synchronized phasor measurement unit 一种同步相量测量单元的分布式结构方案

This paper provides initial justification for adopting a distributed architecture for phasor measurement unit. The characteristics of synchronized phasor measurement is studied in detail. The benefits and short comings of phasor measurements are highlighted from the point of view of their different applications. The need for extension of phasor measurement unit functionality is brought out through analysis of the application and synchronized phasor measurement characteristic compatibility. The concept of phasor measurement unit is extended to a distributed system with several small functions working independently to provide a complete functionality of a phasor measurement unit. The proposed substation automation works on the framework of IEC 61850 process bus.

Neuro-fuzzy based controller for a shunt active power filter 并联型有源电力滤波器的神经模糊控制

This paper describes the application of a novel neuro-fuzzy based control strategy which is used in order to improve the Active Power Filter (APF) dynamics to minimize the harmonics for wide range of variations of load current under various conditions. To improve dynamic behavior of a shunt active power filter and its robustness under range of load variations, instantaneous p-q theory is used with the inclusion of neural network filter for reference current generation and fuzzy logic controller for DC voltage control. The proposed control scheme is simple and also capable of maintaining the compensated line currents balanced, irrespective of unbalancing in the source voltages. The results presented in MATLAB-SIMULINK package in this paper clearly reflect the effectiveness of the proposed APF to meet the IEEE-519 standard recommendations on harmonic levels.

Detection of power quality disturbances with overcomplete dictionary matrix and ℓ1-norm minimization 基于过完备字典矩阵和1-范数最小化的电能质量扰动检测

In this paper, we present a new automatic transient detection and localization for analysis of power quality disturbances. The proposed method is based on an over-complete dictionary (OCD) matrix and an ℓ1-norm minimization algorithm. The OCD matrix is constructed using the spike-like (or identity) bases and discrete-cosine bases. The proposed method is validated using the four types of transient events and the results are compared with wavelet-based method. Experiment results show that the proposed method provides accurate time-information of impulsive and oscillatory transients under high levels of noise, and also preserves signature of transient events.

Identification of coherent synchronous generators in a Multi-Machine Power System using Support Vector Clustering 基于支持向量聚类的多机电力系统相干同步发电机辨识

This paper illustrates the application of a new technique, based on Support Vector Clustering (SVC) for the direct identification of coherent synchronous generators in a large interconnected Multi-Machine Power Systems. The clustering is based on coherency measures, obtained from the time domain responses of the generators following system disturbances. The proposed clustering algorithm could be integrated into a wide-area measurement system that enables fast identification of coherent clusters of generators for the construction of dynamic equivalent models. An application of the proposed method is demonstrated on a practical 15 generators 72-bus system, an equivalent of Indian Southern grid in an attempt to show the effectiveness of this clustering approach. The effects of short circuit fault locations on coherency are also investigated.

Classical controller for coordination of wind-solar-hydro energy conversion systems in isolated region 孤立区域风光能转换系统协调的经典控制器

This paper proposes a control strategy for accomplishing reliable coordination of wind-solar-hydro energy conversion systems in islanded mode of operation. With this integrated scheme, it is viable to generate electrical power from inexhaustible resources in regions having favourable meteorological conditions with limited or no connectivity to grid. In this work, the control technique is formulated to utilize the available renewable energy sources in an efficacious manner to render power at almost constant voltage and frequency to the isolated load. The control strategy of hybrid scheme is implemented and its effectiveness is demonstrated through simulation results.
