One important issue in the sequential pattern mining is to discover frequent sequential patterns in a sequence database. The order of times is the focus of the previous works. However, there is seldom discussion on the time interval between successive items in patterns before. With the time interval to make decision, sequential pattern is better than which with the order of items. In this paper, we propose an algorithm called integrated sequential pattern mining with fuzzy time intervals (ISPFTI). The main idea of ISPFTI algorithm is to use the a priori-like method to mine the frequent sequential patterns of sequence database and use fuzzy theory to mine the time interval between frequent sequences. Firstly, find the candidate sequential patterns. Then, the frequent sequential patterns are found with the minimum fuzzy support. In the step of finding frequent sequential patterns, use the fuzzy number to find each time cluster by computing its fuzzy support. And the results are the frequent fuzzy time sequential patterns. Finally, the experimental result verifies that result of our proposed ISPFTI algorithm performs the excellence of which only with the fuzzy sequential patterns mining or fixed time interval.

The phonation of Tibetan chants was examined using electroglottographic analysis. The supraglottal constriction, which was considered to generate their peculiar phonation qualities, was examined by a comparison with the vocal fold adduction. The results suggest that the frequency of the ventricular fold oscillation was the same as F0, and the closing peak of the ventricular fold adduction occurred approximately 171 degree after the vocal fold adduction. As the ventricular fold adduction immediately followed the glottal release, it generated the glottal pulse with double peaks in the corresponding glottal airflow. Low OQegg value was observed because the ventricular fold adduction, which occurred during the glottal release, lowered its value.

It is said that replication of cultural relic is an important way to protect cultural relic in all ages, according to experts. And color recovery is the key point of costly and rare painting and calligraphy which are in severe danger. According to the characteristics of traditional Chinese painting's pigments, this research used Visual C++ IDE and constructed a computer color recovery adjustment module for traditional Chinese painting, based on chromatics theory and computer digital image processing technology. For any designated color region of Chinese painting, the system can carry out tiny adjustment of color recovery. An automatic Chinese painting's color recovery model is also constructed, based on the fact that the color frequently used in Chinese painting will become natural aging along with the time, paper materials and preserving condition. And color automatic recovery function of Chinese painting was realized. Furthermore, associated applications of digital restoration system and color management system are also discussed in this paper, and good color consistency result in digital restoration is achieved.

At beginning of the search process of particle swarm optimization, one of the disadvantages is that PSO focuses on the global search while the local search is weakened. However, at the end of the search procedure, the PSO focuses on the local search as almost all the particles converge into small areas which could cause the particle swarm to be trapped in the local minima if no particle is found near the minima at the beginning of the search procedure. To improve the optimization performance, the local search is necessary for particle swarm optimization. In this paper, the golden ratio is used to determine the size of the search area. Only two positions need to be checked in order to find whether there are local positions with lower fitness value around a certain particle position. It is also tested using several well-known benchmarks with high dimensions and a large search space for the efficiency of the proposed method.

In this study, we propose surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors consisting of thin planar dielectric gratings on flat metallic substrate, which are studied by rigorous coupled-wave analysis theory (RCWA). The grating thickness is the most important factor to determinate the spectra shape and to influence the sensing performance. The results in air suggest the proposed sensor present extremely linear sensing characteristics with great sensitivity about 80 degree per refractive index unit and high FOM of 140.

This paper highlights the shortcomings of existing hospital information systems and proposes a location, identification and communication system that is able to overcome some of the inadequacies of existing systems and significantly improve the efficiency and throughput of the various units of the hospital setup. The system is based on RFID and wireless sensor network-based location and information management framework and the necessary technology platform that would allow hospital assets, personnel and patients to be tracked in real-time for the purpose of optimizing operations in all aspects of the daily activities of hospitals. The system is also intended to provide a continuous visual simulation and analysis platform to streamline operations, increase process efficiency and service levels.

Medical image registration is the key technology in the modern medical images processing field. A rapid and effective hierarchical registration method of the medical images based on multiscale transform and contour line is proposed in the paper, and it can be accomplished automatically. Firstly, edge features of the couple images are extracted by Canny operator. Then the contour lines of the couple images are extracted based on the edge features. Secondly, Principal Axis method is used to accomplish the rough registration based on the contour lines. Thirdly, multiscale image sets which obtained by a new multiscale transform are used to accomplish the couple images' accurate registration based on the rough registration. Experiment results show that this method not only can achieve more accurate registration results, but also can reduce the computational time greatly. The accurate registration results also can be achieved in the noisy environment.

The aim of the presentation is to support, as efficiently as possible, the Hungarian regulations, which conform to the permanently changing international laws, by introducing the organizational and informatics possibilities of the assignments related to grape growing and wine production. The European Union has created new rules about the joint organization of the wine market that must be implemented by the member states. The provisions entered into force on the 1st of August 2009, can only indirectly be accomplished by the extant Hungarian registration elements, including the control the grape and wine product line and the new rules of product descriptions and data providing. The presented development plan makes a proposal for creating and maintaining an “Integrated Information System in the Grape-Wine Sector” (VINNET) that enables an easier, more effective and more cost efficient collective platform leaning on the current systems. The new IT system allows us to monitor the effects of climate change in the whole Hungarian wine grape industry.

Dynamic Voltage Scaling(DVS) and Dynamic Power Management(DPM) are two major techniques for reducing energy consumption in computer systems today. In this paper, we will propose a model that can capture the key characteristics of power management in today's advance computer systems. In this model, a processor in active mode can run at a number of speeds and each has a different energy consumption rate. The processor can also sleep in a number of sleep modes and each has a different wake-up latency and energy consumption rate. We study the power-driven task scheduling problem in this model and devise an effective method to determine the speed and mode of operation at each time step in order to finish a set of input tasks successfully with an objective to minimize the total power consumption. We found that the offline version of this scheduling problem can be formulated as a quadratic program, and can be solved optimally in practice. We will also present an effective online algorithm to solve this problem that can achieve good competitive ratios in terms of power consumption in comparison with the optimal offline results. We compare our algorithm with other two state-of-the-art techniques. Our experimental results reduce on average 66% and 9% energy respectively.

In China, water resource is scarce and polluted here and there. To manage efficiently the water resource, A Water Supply Management System (WSMS) is developed for collecting and storing the data obtained from many monitoring hosts. In this paper we propose a subsystem of WSMS for reassembling the data quickly for statistical analysis and continuous querying based on the data stream. Two methods for statistical analysis based on the data stream are proposed in this paper. The experiment shows that the method we applied in the WSMS is the better one.
