In this paper, we present a mobile collaborative outdoor augmented reality system. The system will provide a user who captures image of a building facade with related introduction. The proposed system mainly consists of two major parts - annotation module and AR browsing module. Annotation module works with existing standards and linked data to allow users create annotations of the building. Annotation data in our system which only contains URI and metadata, such cluster ID, cluster centroid and the image feature vectors. When user using the system browsing the landmark in outdoor, the system first recognize the landmark and calculate the camera pose from the matching, and then the related introduction is retrieved from linked data through its URI. Experiments show that the proposed augmented reality system is efficient and robust in many cases.

In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for an integrated image segmentation based on the combination of both Markov Random Fields (MRF) and Graph Cuts (GC). In the well-known GrabCut method, the T-link weights do not take into account the spatial relationship between the neighboring pixels. The proposed algorithm, unlike GrabCut method, incorporates this spatial relationship right into the T-link weights. The performance results obtained using natural images clearly demonstrate the robustness, accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, as compared to other known methods.

Catch-up saccades and smooth pursuit are two components, quick and slow, of tracking eye movements. Their interaction has usually been studied during tracking a target moving only in the horizontal direction. In these experiments catch-up saccades were invoked by changing target velocity or introducing target jumps and occlusions. Our research was focused on ocular pursuit of two-dimensional non-predictive target trajectories without target jumps. Target trajectories presented to the subjects had the same shape but moved with slow, medium and high average speeds, and each trial had the duration of 60, 30 and 15 s, respectively. During the long tracking experiments, the sequences of successive catch-up saccades were obtained and their parameters were computed. Due to the contribution of catch-up saccades, elicited during ocular pursuit, the position errors and lagging times were reduced from 30 to 50 % and larger values were obtained for higher target velocities. Analyzing the sum of tracking distances which were overcome during slow phases and during catch-up saccades, we proposed new method to evaluate subject's pursuit gain.

Single Electron Tunneling Transistors (SETs) are promising for very large scale integrated circuits due to their ultra-low power consumption and ultra-small feature size scalability. Devices with NDR characteristics are very useful to be used to design amplifier, oscillation, memory and so on. As a three-port device, NDR characteristics of SET is very useful for VLSI. We analyse several NDR cells based on SETs mostly focused on recently. All the cells use coulomb oscillation to produce NDR characteristics, which can be used to design SRAM, multiple-valued logics, and so on. Therefore, it is very valuable to make research on the NDR characteristics of SETs.

This study addresses an adaptive backstepping fuzzy control approach for automatic steering vehicles. The vehicle lateral dynamics is presented by an eight degree-of-freedom model, which considers the nonlinear behaviors such as tire force, wheel rotations, forward velocity, and roll motion. According to the existing result, the analysis and design on this model is difficult to perform because of its model complexity. To facilitate the designing work, a robust control scheme which is based on T-S fuzzy control strategy is investigated. The stability condition for ensuring that the control system is uniformly ultimately bounded is derived based on Lyapunov's method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified via numeric examples.

Highway, as human made construction on land surface, has influence on natural environment in some geographical region. Ecological environment monitoring is fundamental for highway environmental protection, which is one of the main tasks of traffic environmental monitoring. Conventional methods of the ecological environment monitoring are time-consuming and are not feasible for large area monitoring. Assessment based on remote sensing and GIS can dynamically detect the impacts on ecological environment before and after highway construction. And it can also provide useful information for making decision about the strategy of highway environmental protection. In this study, an assessment based on analyzing Quick Bird image before and after construction period was carried out. After fusing multispectral and panchromatic Quick Bird images based on principal component analysis (PCA) and geometric correction using ERDAS software, the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Vegetation Coverage (VC) was computed from the fused image. By utilizing the eCognition software, land use classification was detected. The NDVI, VC and land use classification before and after construction was compared. The results indicate that the vegetation density, area of farmland and woodland are reduced, which is consistent with the results obtained from field survey.

The particle size of a particle can be acquired through signal analysis of acoustic emission measurement from impact of the particles onto a plate, provided that the impacting velocity of the particles as well as some characteristic parameters of the powder material is prior known. The authors proposed optical correlation velocimetry as an aid to acoustic emission measurement. The measuring apparatus was built for simultaneous measurement of the acoustic emission signals from impact of free-falling particles onto a plate and optical correlation velocimetry. As shown by the test results, optical correlation velocimetry can provide essential information for acoustic emission signal analysis.

Based on an uncertain optimal control problem with jump in the condition of one-dimension, in this paper, we shall consider an uncertain optimal control problem with jump in the condition of multi-dimension. To solve the proposed problem, we present the principle of optimality and then obtain the equation of optimality about multidimensional uncertain optimal control problem with n-jump.

Fault signals of motors is non-stationary typically. Conventional Fourier transform method can't meet the demand of fault signals extraction. Time-frequency analysis (TFA) based motor fault diagnosis methods, which can identify rotor faults by detecting time-varying frequency components of stator current signals, have been very important signal processing techniques. This paper proposes a new motor fault detection method based on multiple window S-method TFA. Slepian sequences are applied as window functions. Compared with common short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD), multiple window S-method TFA provides better time-frequency concentration and cross-term suppression performances, thus improving accuracy rate of motor rotor fault detection. Taking rotor dynamic eccentricity fault as an example, the validity of method is demonstrated.

Landslide is one of the major natural hazards, threatening human lives and properties. Real-time landslide monitoring is very important to disaster relief. In this paper, the effectiveness of real-time landslide monitoring method based on close-range photogrammetry is investigated in an on-campus landslide test site at Tongji University. Feature point tracking method using landslide image sequences is tested first, and then the elevation change detection method on the landslide surface is also tested. According to the experimental results, it is shown that both of these two methods can effectively monitor the landslide movements, which can provide important pre-experimental results for the real-time landslide monitoring in Hongkou Town, Sichun, China.
