Adjustment of the Band Gap Energy According to Sizes of some Cubic Nanosemiconductors of IV, III-V and II-VI Groups 根据一些IV、III-V和II-VI族立方纳米半导体的尺寸调节带隙能量

The present work focuses on the modeling of the quantum confinement for several cubic semiconductors of the IV, IV-IV, III-IV, II-VI groups. In this way, we improve the actual methods of the band gap energy adjustment as function of the nanosemiconductors sizes. First, we used the Effective Mass Approximation (EMA) to investigate several confinement regimes such as weak, medium and strong. Then to ensure a good adjustment of this band gap energy, we recalculated the holes and the electrons effective masses of the cubic semiconductors via the K-P theory, the Luttinger parameters, and various interpolations. The results are compared with two other methods: a theoretical model of the Hyperbolic Band (HBM) and experimental method of the absorption spectra and photoluminescence. We found a better adjustment of the band gap energy according to nanosemiconductors size. These results may enhance considerably the efficiency of solar cells based on quantum dots by optimizing the nano-semiconductors size for each junction and converting the maximum of the solar spectrum. Indeed, we have found that the optimal quantum dot radii of all silicon tandem solar cells are 1.1nm for the upper junction and 1.5nm for the middle junction.

Physicochemical Investigation on the Pulmonary Surfactant of Some Vertebrates 一些脊椎动物肺表面活性物质的理化研究

Large aggregate (LA) fraction of the pulmonary surfactant (PS) isolated from five different animals of the vertebrate group, lungfish, chicken, crocodile, stumpie lizard and guinea pig were isolated and characterized. Active pulmonary surfactant components were obtained by chloroform-methanol extraction of the saline suspended LA fraction. Total phospholipid (PL) and protein content were estimated biochemically by standard enzymatic methods. A systematic progression in the PL and protein content was noticed with the developmental sequence of the animals, except the crocodile, which could be due to the difficulty in the PS isolation procedure. In vitro functionality of the solvent spread film was carried out in a Langmuir surface balance by way of surface pressure (π)-area (A) measurements. PS from all the species exhibited reversible compression and expansion cycles. A clear correlation between the maximum attainable surface pressure (π max ), also known as the collapse pressure (π c ) and the developmental sequence, with some exceptions, could have been established. Langmuir-Blodgett deposits, transferred onto freshly cleaved mica, were imaged by atomic force microscopy for the five different species. DPPC enriched domains showed different dimensions for the five different species. The comprehensive set of studies shed light on the composition, film functionality and structure of the pulmonary surfactants of the vertebrates where a correlation with the evolution sequence is observed.

Electronic and Transmission Properties of Low Buckled GaAs Armchair Nanoribbons 低屈曲砷化镓扶手纳米带的电子和传输特性

The electronic and transmission properties of N atom width (N: 4, 8, 12, 16)low-buckled (LB) armchair GaAs hydrogen (H) passivated nanoribbons (NA GaAs NRs) are studied with the help of first-principle theory. In low buckled armchair GaAs nanoribbon, quantum confinement effect is observed due to which all of the investigated NA GaAs NRs with H passivated are found to be semiconducting. The fundamental direct band gap at k-point Г (gamma) have been calculated, which exhibit interesting width dependent (N: 4~16) behaviour of bandgap. The H passivated edge of NA GaAs NRs with different width of nanoribbons provides great flexibility to modulate fundamental bandgap. The transmission coefficient is calculated from which thermal conductance has been calculated forall width of GaAs armchair nanoribbon.

Enhanced Dielectric Properties of Polypropylene based Composite using Zinc Oxide Nanorods Filler 氧化锌纳米棒填料增强聚丙烯基复合材料介电性能

Polypropylene and zinc oxide nanorods composites were prepared by combination of solution and mixture melting methods. Dielectric properties of the composite thin films were studied to see if zinc oxide nanorods have effect on the dielectric properties of polypropylene thin film. Introduction of zinc oxide nanorods at low filler content in the polypropylene matrix significantly improves the dielectric constant of the matrix. Simultaneously the structure of the composites was characterized by UV, XRD and SEM to understand the features in the structure that determine the functionality of the material. Composites with different weight percentage of zinc oxide nanorods show better absorption in the UV region compared to polypropylene matrix. This is due to the inherent capability of nano zinc oxide to absorb in the UV region. X-ray diffraction pattern of nanocomposites show sharp and highly intense peaks whereas neat polypropylene shows less intense peaks. This may due to the development of crystallinity in the polymer. Uniform distribution of zinc oxide which have a width of around 160-200 nm is observed in the SEM photographs of composites.

Performance and Emissions Characteristics of Diesel Engine Running on used Mustard Oil-Diesel Blends by Micro Emulsification as a Fuel 以芥菜油-柴油微乳化混合燃料运行的柴油机性能及排放特性

This study describes preparation of biodiesel through micro emulsification of diesel with 15, 25 and 35% of used mustard oil and 2.5% of Triton-X100 as surfactant by volume. The prepared blends are designated as B15; B25 and B35.The physiochemical properties of blends were tested as per American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard and compared their properties with diesel. Experiments were conducted on single cylinder, 4 strokes, water cooled direct injection diesel engine fuelled by three different micro emulsified fuel blends. The results indicated that a slight decrease in the brake specific energy consumption and increase in brake thermal efficiency for B35 fuel compared to diesel fuel operation. Reduction in HC, CO 2 , CO and nitric oxide emission was observed for all test fuels compared to diesel fuel.

Efficient Micellar Extraction of Ternary Mixture of Cationic Dyes from Aqueous Medium 阳离子染料三元混合物的高效胶束萃取

In the present work an attempt has been made to extract ternary mixture of Basic Yellow-2 (BY-2), Basic Red-12 (BR-12) and Basic Blue-26 (BB-26) dyes from simulated textile effluent by solvent extraction using anionic surfactant Sodium Dodecylsulfate (SDS). This study proposes an efficient, fast, simple and effective microemulsion system for the removal of cationic dyes using reverse micelles of anionic surfactant from wastewaters. In this method, dyes are dissolved in aqueous phase and mixed with organic solvent in the presence of surfactant. The effects of the concentration of feed mixture (dye and surfactant), temperature, pH and salt concentration on extraction of dyes from aqueous phase have been studied after the complete separation of two phases. The method poses no environmental threat, so it is an eco-friendly way to treat dye house effluents.

The Effects of Nb and Mo Addition on Microstructure and Mechanical Behaviour of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy Nb和Mo添加对Ti-6Al-4V合金组织和力学行为的影响

The effects of Nb and Mo addition, with different contents, on the microstructure and some mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V alloy were investigated. Treatments were performed at various high temperatures about 1200 and 1300 °C for 3h using vacuum furnace as first treatment and using an argon atmosphere as second treatment. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and the influence of processing temperature on microstructure was studied, the microstructural evolution was evaluated by optical microscopy and SEM. The results revealed that the Nb and Mo elements added to the titanium alloy stabilized the β phase and changed the lattice parameters of α phase. Microstructural observations, phase analysis shown that Ti-6Al-4V alloy contain single phase and increasing Nb and Mo contents the equiaxed grain is refined, and reduction in the prior β grain size. Moreover, Nb/Mo addition up to 10 wt.% increases the volume fraction of β phase in the microstructure. Some mechanical properties such as hardness, Young's modulus and fracture toughness were achieved and tensile test was performed at room temperature. Experimental results revealed good mechanical properties including a low Young's modulus and high deformability, the hardness values of the alloy is about 350-570 HV and the fracture toughness values K IC are ranging from 16.8 MPa m 1/2 to 28.5 MPa m 1/2 depending on Nb/Mo contents.

Study of Thermal Behavior of Silicon Carbide Reinforced Polyester Matrix Nanocomposite 碳化硅增强聚酯基纳米复合材料的热行为研究

SiC reinforced polyester nano-composites have been investigated to explore its thermal behavior and the possibilities of its performance improvement. This has been accomplished through addition of small amount of nano sized particles to the composite and by subjecting it to conduct of subsequent experimentations. Nano-composites find applications in the manufacture of special and process equipments. In this study, the composite is fabricated using a weight ratio of 30% for SiC which is reinforced with the remaining polymer matrix. Studies were done to understand the morphology and thermal behavior by conducting different tests and analysis such as thermal conductivity test, TGA and FE-SEM analysis.

Preparation and Characterization of Pristine PMMA and PVDF Thin Film using Solution Casting Process for Optoelectronic Devices 光电器件用纯PMMA和PVDF薄膜的溶液铸造制备与表征

The PMMA and PVDF thin films were synthesized by solution casting process. The structural, spectroscopic, and morphological attributes of both the interface and surface of the film have been investigated. The structural properties of pristine PMMA and PVDF thin film were studied by XRD. The XRD spectra showed the detailed state of order and disorder of the system. From the XRD studies amorphous nature as well as the crystallanity (semi crystalline nature) of the polymer thin film were identified. SEM showed the surface morphology of the pristine PMMA and PVDF thin film. From the SEM image the size and the porous nature of the thin film were estimated. The UV showed the absorption characteristics of PMMA and PVDF thin films. From the UV-Visible spectra, we determined the direct and indirect optical energy gap of pristine PMMA and PVDF polymer samples by Devi's and Mott formula and Tauc's Expression. To the best of our knowledge, the direct and indirect energy gap in pristine PMMA and PVDF polymer thin films have been observed for the first time as no such report was found in literature survey.
