ABSTRACTSuperoxide dismutase in relation to Alzheimer's disease can be thought as the basis for the development of copper coordination complexes designed as radiopharmaceuticals to assist in the diagnosis/treatment of this disorder. In such a fascination, a systematic study of a series of three Cu(II)-N-dehydroacetic acid-salicylic acid hydrazide (H2dha-shz) Schiff base complexes, based on hyphenated experimental and theoretical approach, having the general composition formula as [Cu(dha-sahz)(L)], where L is H2O, imidazole (imdH)] or benzimidazole (bimdH) is presented. Theoretical calculations have been performed for one of the representative complexes containing imidazole as a co-ligand. B3LYP/LANL2DZ combination was used to carry out the required calculations. From the study, a suitable square planar geometry has been found for the complexes under investigation. ABSTRACTMagnesium (Mg) and zirconium (Zr) doped bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3; BFO) ceramics such as Bi1−xMgxFeO3 (Mg doped BFO; BMO), BiFe1−xZrxO3 (Zr doped BFO; BZO) and Bi1−xMgxFe1−xZrxO3 (both Mg and Zr doped BFO; BMZO) with x = 0 and 0.1 were synthesized by solid-state reaction techniques. The distorted rhombohedral structures of doped BFO were confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The microstructural analysis revealed that there were uniform dispersions and homogeneous distributions of ceramics in BMZO as compared to BMO, BZO and plane BFO. The optical properties signified that BMZO having the lowest optical band gap had profound optical performance in optoelectronic device applications than that of BMO, BZO and plane BFO.

Facile preparation of monolayer NiO thin film for high performance THF sensor 高性能THF传感器用单层NiO薄膜的简易制备

ABSTRACTHigh quality monolayer NiO thin film was fabricated by an oil–water interface self-assembly strategy. Polystyrene spheres were used as templates. The as-prepared film composed by a series of ordered hexagonal close-packed bowl-like array with an average diameter of about 700 nm. The monolayer NiO thin film deposited on aluminium oxide substrate with Au interdigital electrode on the surface can be directly used as a tetrahydrofuran (THF) gas sensor. The NiO thin film gas sensor presents great selectivity, fast response, and recovery time. The response of the monolayer NiO thin film sensor was about 15.14–100 ppm THF at a working temperature of 325 °C. The excellent performance can be attributed to the bowl-like structure and good contact with the Au coated aluminium oxide substrate.

ABSTRACTThe phosphomolybdic acid has been successfully supported on functionalized ionic liquid (IL) modified mesoporous silica SBA-15. Subsequently, the obtained products were calcined at different temperatures. The oxidative desulfurization of model fuel containing benzothiophene, dibenzothiophene or 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene has been carried out with HPMo-IL/SBA-15 calcined at various temperatures. Based on desulfurization rate and cost, the optimum calcination temperature of HPMo-IL/SBA-15 catalyst was around 400 °C. More molybdenum oxide active sites were shown by the decomposition of the IL at the higher temperature, which caused better desulfurization performance.

Preparation of divinyl benzene modified barium titanate-poly (vinylidene fluoride) composites with high dielectric constant 二乙烯苯改性高介电常数钛酸钡-聚偏氟乙烯复合材料的制备

ABSTRACTIn this work, polystyrene 2% divinyl benzene (PDB) modified barium titanate (BaTiO3; BT)-poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) composite films were prepared by solution casting techniques. PDB was used as the surface modifying agent. It was observed that the dielectric constant of the PDB modified BT-PVDF composite films exhibited higher dielectric constant (160) and relatively lower loss value < 1 at 1000 Hz. The dielectric and electrical parameters of the composite films were studied by using the complex impedance spectroscopy technique in a wide range of frequency at room temperature. The impedance plot suggested the contribution of both bulk phenomenon and grain boundary effect in the composites. The variation of AC electrical conductivity with frequency perfectly obeyed Jonscher's universal power law. The microstructural study revealed the uniformity in distribution of particles in correlation with high dielectric constant and low loss value. Some studies and analysis of adhesive bonded joints: a review 粘接接头的一些研究与分析综述

ABSTRACTThe necessity to design the lightweight structures and the use of lightweight materials in industrial fields has been led to a wide usage of adhesive bonding. This paper is focused on the finite element analysis of adhesively bonded joints like static loading analysis, fatigue loading analysis and dynamic characteristics of the adhesively bonded joints. Based on a comprehensive review of various literature, it was observed that extensive work has been done related to adhesive joints like lap, butt and strap joints, whereas studies carried out to analyze the static and dynamic strength of carbon fiber reinforced plastic adhesive joints are limited.

Synthesis, structural characterization, and initial anticancer activity of water soluble polyethers from hafnocene dichloride and poly(ethylene glycols) 二氯半茂烯和聚乙二醇水溶性聚醚的合成、结构表征及初步抗癌活性

ABSTRACTThe initial synthesis of DMSO and water-soluble hafnocene polyethers is described. The polyethers are formed through reaction of the hafnocene dichloride with various poly(ethylene glycols) employing commercially available reactants. Infrared, proton NMR, and MALDI MS results are consistent with the hafnocene-containing polyether structure. The materials are polymeric with chain lengths ranging from 1200 to 8 with moderate product yield. They exhibit good inhibition of a variety of cancer cell lines including two pancreatic cancer cell lines.

ABSTRACTA new series of copper(II) complexes have been synthesized with macrocyclic ligands L1 and L2 having N3S2-donating atoms in the 12-membered macrocyclic ring. The structure characterization of these newly synthesized copper(II) complexes was achieved by various physicochemical techniques. It has been shown that the stereochemistry of complexes is dependent on the type of counter anions incorporated in the complex molecule. Mimicking copper oxidase enzymes, namely catechol oxidase and phenoxazinone synthase, was investigated and the results obtained demonstrated that there is a correlation between the structural properties of these copper(II) complexes and the oxidase biomimetic catalytic activities. Kinetic measurements revealed second-order dependence on the catalyst concentration for 3,5-DTBCH2 and first order in the case of OAPH.
