This research aimed to improve students' vocabulary mastery through Word Grouping Activity. The subject of this research was the 11th IPA 6 At SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung. It consisted of 30 students', this research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was consisted of 2 cycle in collecting the data, the writer used test and non-test. The test used in this research were formative and summative test. Meanwhile in non-test, the writer used observation sheet and field note. In analyzing the data, the writer used quantitative and qualitative method. Refer to the result of the test, it showed that there were 13 students who got score > 75 with the presentage 70.67 % in first cycle. Meanwhile, there were 22 students who got score > 75 with the presentage 78.67 % in the second cycle. In the other hand, the mean score of the students' learning activity in the first cycle was 6.4 and in the second cycle was 7.29.It showed that were was an Increased in the students' learning activity. Based on the result of the research, the Word Grouping Activity can improve students' vocabulary mastery through at the eleventh grade at SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung.
本研究旨在通过单词分组活动提高学生的词汇掌握能力。本研究的主题是在南榜市SMA Negeri 16举行的第11届IPA 6。本研究由30名学生组成,本研究采用课堂行动研究(CAR),分为2个周期收集数据,作者采用测试和非测试。本研究采用形成性测验和总结性测验。同时,在非测试中,作者使用了观察表和现场笔记。在分析数据时,作者采用了定量和定性相结合的方法。根据测试结果,在第一周期中,得分> 75分的学生有13人,呈现率为70.67%。第二轮评分> 75分的学生有22人,呈现率为78.67%。另一方面,学生在第一周期的学习活动平均得分为6.4分,在第二周期的学习活动平均得分为7.29分。结果表明,学生的学习积极性有所提高。根据研究结果,分组活动可以提高学生在11年级的词汇掌握,直到16班达南榜。

This article deals with the problems in translating literary poesy and reveals some pertinent solutions and also concentrates on the need to expand the perimeters of Translation Studies. Unfortunately, the translators lay more emphasis on the translation of poetry; there should be more research regarding the particular problems of translating literary poetry. One explanation of this could be the fact that the status of poetry is considered higher, but it is more possibly due to the notable flawed notion that the novels, essays, fiction etc. possess a simple structure compared to that of a poem and is thus easier to translate. However, many debates have been organized over when to translate, when to apply the close local equivalent, when to invent a new word by translating clearly, and when to copy.

This article was written with the aim of providing information that slang has become a medium or communication tool for adolescents, also explaining about something that has to do with language as a means of communication in every human social interaction. In writing this article using the literature review method, all data is obtained from relevant literature data. In the discussion of this article explains about slang as a medium of communication among teenagers. The characteristics of slang in the form of words, acronyms and abbreviations, factors that influence the emergence and use of slang as a medium of communication, also explain the impact of the use of slang in social interaction. As social creatures, of course, humans need communication in their lives in order to establish relationships between others. From the writing of this article, it can be seen that the millennial generation or teenagers already have creativity in communicating, both through abbreviations and acronyms in the form of Indonesian and English, so that it can show the context of communication culture in the modern and cool world of teenagers.

This article is devoted to one of the key issues of linguistics, especially diplomatic and political abbreviations. In the process of research, we found that this abbreviation is not only used in the languages of other peoples, but it used in the Tajik language and has its own place in linguistics. In eastern Afghanistan, Nuristan lays in mountains. Nursitan Province is located in eastern Afghanistan, on the Afghanistan - Pakistan border. Almost all valleys and rivers, home to indigenous people, rich of culture that date back to ancient civilization. As new modern world takes shape and almost all aspect of life has changed, very little changed in these valleys. Nuristan is home to eight major tribes and each tribe has its dialect. This paper illustrates Nuristani Languages and its dialects and tribes reside in valleys for thousand of years. Most Nuristanis are from the Kata Family and Janaderi Branch. However, there are other Nuristani tribes as well, some of the Kata of Janaderi people live in Ozhor (now Karimabad), Gobor, Buburat, Ayun, Broze and Mastuj. There is a very popular rock associated with this tribe located in Karimabad (Juwara) called kata bont (Kata is the name of the tribe; bont meaning "stone" in the Chitrali language).

The moment when the degree from the higher academics see the light of the day, its worth and significance lies in the hand of the individual who carry it as a reflection of not only his or her knowledge but also his or her behavioural aspects that are refracted from him or her. It is not the degree which is important ,it is the decoder who holds it , is important .It is not only an embellishment in the making of curriculum vitae or resume that proves it as a passport to a good job. It is a definition that an individual carries towards his or her understanding of culture and environment that seeks an individual’s contribution towards the upliftment of society as a whole , and this society emerges with all critical acumen towards the compositions of rules, norms , behaviour as larger part of the system that make a strong nation. As a professional one needs to understand the translation of difficult issues , challenges or for that cause, the degrading values into everyday terms of understanding of humanitarian values .It is only we the humans who are born with competent brain who can generate and experiment to create new knowledge every time from the prescribed ones. It is only the educated ones who understand the importance of human life and its existence in a compromising world of today’s dynamic and resonating ambitions of power , wealth and health that is ready to open doors to just everything at the cost of natural resources available. It is, therefore, implied to distinguish between the educated and the literate ones as from here ideologies construct and shape knowledge for the masses at large. The present paper offers an overview on academic culture with special reference to Professional Communication and Entrepreneurship.

People communicate their views through their words. It is a way for language users to exchange information. It could be difficult to explain topics to primary school students verbally. They speak with weak vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. In order to address these challenges, the teacher encourages the smartphone app to enhance speaking class. She established a WhatsApp group to serve as the media for the in-class exercise. Every student participated in it. The instructor asked the students to participate in a discussion and book-based activities in bilingual grammar. Then they found the book's transcription of the short story. To facilitate transcription and reading aloud, this kind of content was altered. As a means to conclude, the teacher offered each student a picture to discuss in a pair. As a method to conclude the lesson, the teacher gave each student a photo to discuss in a pair. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses of the data were done. It follows that using video conferences to improve communication skills is successful. It is advantageous for the teachers to incorporate it into lessons on related subjects. Deeper projects will be undertaken by the other researchers as a result.

The study focuses on the politeness principle of Road Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory based on Geofrey Leech’s theory. Leech mentions there are six maxims of politeness principle as follows: Tact Maxim, Generosity Maxim, Approbation Maxim, Modesty Maxim, Agreement Maxim, and Sympathy Maxim. The objectives of this study are identifying and classifying into several categories of politeness principles as well as analysing the conversational text in the story. This research uses a qualitative approach for the study of literature (documents) from a variety of sources, both print and electronic, as well as texts, journals, and scientific articles. In conducting this study, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory book is used as the primary source for the data collection. The data are collected by taking several conversational texts in its story. The result of this study can be concluded that in the text of the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl there are several discourse contexts in the story that are in line with the politeness principle by Geofrey Leech.

This research uses a qualitative approach for the study of literature (documents) from a variety of sources, both print and electronic, as well as texts, journals, and scientific articles. In conducting this study, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory book is used as the primary source for the data collection. The data are collected by taking several conversational texts in its story. Pronouns are closely related to demonstrative pronouns. It is recognized that the root of interrogative pronouns are indicative particles, which have the meaning of adverb, particle, and pronoun, and especially, indicative pronouns - personal. English pronouns can be counted among other types of pronouns of this language, because when they are used in a sentence, they have not only a question meaning, but also a different lexical and syntactic meaning. In this article researcher has considered about the process of borrowings in parts of speech and he also mentioned that, during long history pronouns did not borrow from a language to another language.
