The article provides a comparative analysis of written congratulations in the Russian and German languages: their form, occasions for congratulations, the most commonly used rhetorical means, as well as linguocultural specificity – the characteristics of the congratulations as a speech genre in the Russian and German languages are described.

This article examines a number of letters from the diplomat, playwright and poet A. von Maltitz, found in the archives of V.A. Zhukovsky.The epistolary dialogue between the two writers and translators was conducted in French, however, a separate specified folder of manuscripts represents a collection of more than 20 Maltitz texts, which fit into the paradigm of romanticism in terms of genre-style and poetical-semantic features. Also, these texts reveal previously unknown realities and images of friendly correspondence between Russian writers and statesmen.

The present paper gives information about using of different Internet hypes in German language class. In this regard, media pedagogy and media didactics are discussed, the media competence is described. The definition of the Internet phenomena is explained, and examples are given. Great emphasis is placed on memes (pictures with inscriptions). Thereafter the authors give examples of lessons, which are supported with different hypes.

The article focuses on German-language public appeals during the coronavirus pandemic that aim to encourage the addressee to take a certain post-communicative action. The category of addressing is considered in the following microfields: vocative one with a dominant appeal, one of motivation with a dominant imperative and that of interrogation with question-and-answer entities as dominant. Prohibition is viewed as a specific semantic implementation of motivation. The use of images inextricably linked to the text is discussed as a feature of public appellative inscriptions.

The analysis of referential status of noun phrases proves that articles perform in a poetic text additional functions connected with modeling of fictional world and supporting the plot framework of the text.

The Corona pandemic has led to worldwide efforts to create new and innovative concepts for digital learning. In this article, we present a projectoriented seminar that took place at the University of Greifswald and St. Petersburg State University in the winter semester of 2018. In this project seminar students of both universities worked on memory spaces that are at the same time a part of the collective memory of both German- and Russian-speaking discourse communities. After giving an outline on the concept of memory spaces, this article presents the project, which combined parallel work at the two participating universities with study visits of student groups from each university to the partner university. We end with reflections on how such seminars can serve as a basis for virtual academic mobility.
