How overqualification, job crafting, and workgroup emotional climate affect college teachers' innovation behavior 资格过高、工作雕琢和工作小组情感氛围如何影响高校教师的创新行为

College teachers are producers of scientific knowledge, and innovative behavior is important to this group, especially since overqualification is a common phenomenon. However, there is much debate about the effect of overqualification on innovation behavior. Therefore, we used statistical analysis software to explore the interaction mechanisms between overqualification and college teachers' innovation behavior using data from 368 questionnaires. Overqualification was found to be negatively related to college teachers' innovation behavior, and job crafting played a mediating role in this relationship. Further, workgroup emotional climate was positively related to college teachers' innovation behavior, and also had a moderating effect on the relationship between overqualification and college teachers' innovation behavior. This study can help scholars to further understand the influence of individual- and organization-level variables on college teachers' innovation behavior.

Mechanism of forming Hanfu purchase intention: Authenticity of cultural elements and cultural compatibility perspectives 汉服购买意向的形成机制:文化元素的真实性和文化兼容性视角

We explored the psychological mechanisms through which the perceived authenticity of cultural elements and cultural compatibility of traditional Hanfu garments influence consumers' purchase intention. Using structural equation modeling, we analyzed data gathered in a two-wave survey of 1,264 Chinese participants. We found that both the perceived authenticity of cultural elements and cultural compatibility positively influenced participants' purchase intention. Furthermore, these relationships were mediated by individuals' needs for social identity and self-pursuit. We also examined the moderating effect of individuals' preference for collectivism. The findings could inform marketing managers in segmenting the Hanfu market based on consumers' internal psychological mechanisms and cultural values, and also enhance understanding of the driving forces underlying consumer behavior in regard to purchase of cultural products.

Longitudinal associations among relative deprivation, maladaptive cognition, and internet addiction: A four-wave study 相对贫困、适应不良认知和网络成瘾之间的纵向联系:四波研究

We investigated the longitudinal associations among relative deprivation, maladaptive cognition, and internet addiction in Chinese university students. We gave 912 university students assessments at four time points (every 6 months) over the first 2 years of their enrollment at college. Cross-lagged panel analysis revealed the presence of positive correlations among relative deprivation, maladaptive cognition, and internet addiction. Moreover, these associations were dynamic and bidirectional across the four time points. Furthermore, maladaptive cognition played a bidirectional mediating role in the association between relative deprivation and internet addiction across the time points. Relative deprivation and internet addiction appeared to generate a positive feedback loop, which formed a vicious cycle. The exaggeration of the advantages of using the internet may lead to internet addiction, while an exaggeration of one's supposedly disadvantaged circumstances may lead to increased relative deprivation.

Coaches' benevolent leadership and athlete burnout: Mediating effect of psychological safety 教练的仁慈领导与运动员的职业倦怠:心理安全的中介效应

Research has been conducted to explore the effect of factors relating to coaches' leadership on Chinese athletes' burnout, but less attention has been paid to coaches' leadership style, such as benevolent leadership. In this study conducted with 282 athletes at three Chinese universities, we investigated how the benevolent leadership of the coach is related to athlete burnout and if athletes' psychological safety mediates this relationship. We analyzed survey data using structural equation modeling. Results indicated that coaches' benevolent leadership was negatively associated with athlete burnout, and this relationship was mediated by psychological safety. These findings enhance understanding of the mechanism between coaches' benevolent leadership and athlete burnout, and shed light on the important role in this relationship of athletes' perception of psychological safety.

Innovative behaviors of occupational health managers: The mediating role of self-leadership 职业健康管理人员的创新行为:自我领导的中介作用

Occupational health managers independently perform various tasks, such as first aid, health promotion, job management, and work environment management, to protect the health of workers in an organization. Organizations generally have one or two occupational health managers, and their work environment significantly affects their job performance. Therefore, I explored the relationships among task identity, autonomy characteristics, self-leadership, and innovative behavior. I conducted a cross-sectional questionnaire survey among 180 occupational health managers in South Korea, and analyzed the data using structural equation modeling. The results showed that task identity and autonomy had a positive association with innovative work behavior and selfleadership; and self-leadership mediated the relationships between task identity, autonomy, and innovative work behavior. This suggests that it is important to create a work environment that enhances job initiative in consideration of the job characteristics of occupational health managers.

Professional commitment and willingness of art education college students to become teachers: Learning satisfaction as a mediator 艺术教育专业大学生的职业承诺和成为教师的意愿:以学习满意度为中介

There is currently a teacher shortage in remote areas in China, as the willingness of government-sponsored students to enter the profession continues to decrease because of factors such as high work pressure and relatively low salaries. We investigated the influence of professional commitment on willingness to enter the teaching profession among 395 government-sponsored teachers' college students majoring in art education, and assessed the mediating role of learning satisfaction in this relationship. The results indicated there was a significant positive correlation between professional commitment and teaching willingness. Additionally, learning satisfaction played a mediating role in this relationship. Our findings contribute to understanding of the relationships among professional commitment, teaching willingness, and learning satisfaction among teachers' college students majoring in art education within the context of Chinese higher education. The results also offer practical insights for educators to enhance the willingness of art education majors to enter the teaching profession.

Effects of parental conflict on adolescent academic burnout: A moderated mediation model 父母冲突对青少年学业倦怠的影响:调节中介模型

We investigated the relationship between parental conflict and adolescent academic burnout, along with the mediating role of the parent–child relationship and the moderating role of teacher support. We surveyed 886 firstyear secondary vocational school students in Foshan City using four scales: the Adolescent Student Burnout Inventory, the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale, the Parent–Child Closeness Scale, and the Students' Perception of Teachers' Supporting Behavior Questionnaire. The results showed that adolescent academic burnout was directly and positively associated with parental conflict, and that the parent–child relationship partially mediated this relationship. Teacher support moderated parental conflict and affected adolescent academic burnout indirectly through parent–child relationships. Thus, parents should try to create an emotionally secure family environment for children and cultivate high-quality parent–child relationships, to prevent or intervene in academic burnout among adolescents. Additionally, schools should consider the role of teacher support in the improvement of parent–child relationships among students.

Perceived organizational justice and support facilitate employee innovation: A moderated mediation model of work engagement and empowerment 感知到的组织公正和支持有助于员工创新:工作投入和授权的调节中介模型

In this study we employed a dual theory of social exchange and conservation of resources to examine how individual perceptions of organizational justice and support translate into innovative work behavior via engagement and empowerment. We analyzed data from 367 academic staff and their leaders in 82 public higher education institutions in China, and the results revealed a positive association between perceived organizational support and innovative work behavior, which was mediated by work engagement. A result surprising to us was that although organizational justice indirectly enhanced innovative work behavior through work engagement, organizational justice did not directly drive innovative work behavior. Moreover, psychological empowerment did not moderate the indirect linkage between organizational justice/perceived organizational support and innovative work behavior via work engagement. These findings are relevant to organizations seeking to utilize different perceptions of individual employees to drive innovation.

How perception of university financial aid influences the social-givingback behavior of students receiving aid 大学资助认知如何影响受助学生的社会回馈行为

We used social construction theory to investigate the mechanisms and boundary conditions that underlie the relationship between perception of financial aid and social-giving-back behavior in the context of students in need who receive financial aid at China's universities. The results of a time-lagged field survey with 436 students indicated that their perception of financial aid was positively related to their social-giving-back behavior, and that self-concept mediated this relationship. Furthermore, when the students perceived that financial support was intended for their benefit, this strengthened the relationship between their perception of financial aid and self-concept, which, in turn, reinforced the indirect effect of perception of financial aid on students' giving-back behavior through their self-concept. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

We note, with sadness, the passing of Dr. Robert Rosenthal, a longtime member of the Board of Consulting Editors of Social Behavior and Personality: an international journal. SBP’s Editor-in-Chief, Dr Robert A. C. Stewart was privileged to have Dr. Rosenthal as one of his professors while a graduate student at Harvard University in 1964–1965. He well remembers Dr. Rosenthal’s easy, inviting manner as a person. Having chosen to join our Board in the early years of the journal, Dr. Rosenthal was to remain, over the decades, a valued member of our advisory team until his death early this year.
