The authors report a case of lupus vulgaris in a 22-year-old female patient occurring three months after BCG vaccination, with a period of evolution of two months. The Mantoux intradermoreaction (1 U) was strongly positive, and no acid-fast bacilli were found in the lesion, either by direct analysis or by culture in a Lowenstein medium. The histopathological findings confirmed the diagnosis. Prescribed treatment with isoniazid and rifampicin for three months resulted in complete healing on the sixth month.

During two years all clinical genital lesions compatible with herpes simplex virus (HSV) etiology were studied systematically through intent of virus isolation in BHK cells. Isolation of virus was confirmed in 85% of the 206 cases studied. All seems to indicate that around the 20% of the isolations belong to the type HSV1 and the rest to the type HSV2. Viral Antigen demonstration, by direct and/or indirect technics with antibodies poly or monoclonals shows to be less sensitive than the virus isolation. The systematic study of these sexually transmitted disease revealed two indicative results: 5.32 cases of Gonococia per each case of HSV were confirmed. It seems to be a possibly relation for the actual epidemiology moment of our country. The other is the need, specially in younger people, to explore systematically syphilis, not only in all the genital ulcers, also in presence of a typical clinical of HSV.

A case of epidermolysis bullosa acquisita (EBA) with negative direct immunofluorescence and multiple myeloma is reported. Epidermolysis bullosa acquisita has been associated with several systemic diseases, but only three cases diagnosed of EBA have been associated with multiple myeloma in the literature.

A case of universal cutaneous calcinosis developed without apparent cause is reported. It had an evolution towards epidermic perforation and was treated with aluminium hydroxide. A discussion was made on the rarity of the idiopathic calcinosis as well as on the interesting phenomenon of transepidermal elimination.

We treated 105 patients with anogenital warts with cotton swabs soaked in liquid nitrogen. 90.1% of the patients were cured, but recurrences were observed in 19.5%. With this method we obtained better clinical results than those obtained with the cryoprobes system. Good results were obtained when the lesions were accessible for treatment, but neither the time of evolution nor the size influenced the cure.

Oil rose of mosqueta (Rosa aff. Rubiginosa L.) is a concentrated solution in linoleic (41%) and linolenic acid (39%), that offers benefit therapeutic effects in the wound healing. Ten patients affected of leg ulcers and post-surgical wounds were treated by 26% oil concentrated rose of mosqueta with very notable improvement on its healing compared with the control group. Due to the lack of side effects, we believe rose of mosqueta oil is very usefull to these conditions. Mechanism of actions and others indications are discussed.

Plasma lipid bound sialic acid (LSA) was measurement in 41 patients with malignant melanoma to determine the utility of this biochemical marker in the stating and in monitoring the post-operative follow-up. LSA was determined in 26 cases pre and post-operation, and in 15 cases only post-operation. Multiple determinations was done in 12 cases during two years of post-operative follow-up. Patients with preoperatory determination exhibited LSA levels significantly higher (p 0.0001) than the healthy control group. Relationship between LSA highest levels and tumoral size up 2 cm. in diameter was found (p 0.02). A second determination after 2 months of cases. LSA multiple post-operative controls showed continuing elevation of LSA levels up the normal rates was corresponding with metastasis in 100% of cases.

We studied a white skin type 3 male patient aged 68 years old with a paraneoplastic acrokeratosis of Bazex, suffering from an oesophagus neoplasm. Cutaneous manifestations preceded in months the cancer. Dermatosis affected fingers of hands and feet, soles, nose and helix. Black melanic hyperpigmentation was the first cutaneous sign and were followed by an hyperkeratosis, becoming the most clinical characteristic of the syndrome. The sequence of these signs induces us to suggest that hormonal factors elaborated by the tumoral cells are the ones responsible for the pigmentary changes since they appeared before the hyperkeratosis.

The histopathological aspects of seborrheic keratosis have been studied in order to establish a basis to their classification upon structural morphology and cytology. The 210 seborrheic keratosis studied could be classified in several patterns among which we must point out the three most important ones: hyperkeratotic, adenoid and acanthotic. This last one can offer two very different images: uniform acanthotic (this one including at the same time, a variant of "small basal cells") and reticular acanthotic. Special mention has to be made as well to the activated and pure forms which, though being the result of evolutive accidental phenomena, no doubt they have very particular and distinctive histopathological aspects. Further, other variants are discussed such a clonal and acantholytic seborrheic keratosis, as well as the significance of inverted follicular keratosis and of melanoacanthoma.
