The macrostructure of the ideographic dictionary "The world in the mirror of food metaphor" is presented. The tenets of systematization of the lexicographed material into sections corresponding to the semantic spheres of reference are described, the phenomena of which have received a figurative meaning by means of food metaphor.

The article overviews cognitive strategies of the reflection of the active words exemplified in Russian verbs. It is presented in two ideographic dictionaries: the big explanatory dictionary of Russian verbs and the experimental syntactic dictionary of Russian verb sentences. Regularities and features of categorization of this fragment of the world are revealed.

The composition of the vocabulary, the principles of the presentation of the material in the dictionary entry are analyzed, the sources of illustrative material are described. This paper discusses the issues of improving a predicate word dictionary structure that is used in solving problems of knowledge acquisition and text analysis. The principle of open dictionary architecture is shown. It takes into account the stylistic differentiation of speech and involves the description of predicate word subsystems functioning in separate speech varieties.
