Interactive drama in initial teacher education: developing pre-service teachers’ empathy 互动戏剧在初级教师教育中的应用:培养职前教师的同理心

ABSTRACTHigher education in pedagogy is abundant in theoretical courses and knowledge, whereas practicum in schools in Russia, for example, only takes place in the 3rd or 4th year of the bachelor's degree programme, with a maximum length of 4 weeks, thus leaving the theoretical propositions without proper application. The gap between theory and real life teaching can be bridged through interactive drama in a teacher training course. The article demonstrates how this approach can be implemented in teacher education. Puppets and education: ideas, beliefs, and school practices of Spanish teachers 木偶与教育:西班牙语教师的思想、信仰和学校实践

Puppets have been used in education for decades and they have become an indisputable educational tool. However, puppetry has a minimal presence in teacher training. This study uses a questionnaire to explore 453 teachers’ use, perceptions, and knowledge of puppets as an educational tool in Valencian schools between 2020/2022 to reveal the relationship between puppetry and the school system. This study reaches several conclusions, mainly about the limited knowledge of this tool and its possibilities, that will open up new dialogue in today’s schools. This study proposes some valuable reflections to achieve real change in the school–puppet relationship.

‘Page, stage, engage’: a case study activating citizenship and drama education in China “页面、舞台、参与”:激活公民意识与中国戏剧教育的案例研究

ABSTRACT The aim of this essay is to consider some of the issues and possibilities presented by recent developments in citizenship education and drama education in China. It is written from the personal perspective of a drama practitioner whose professional life has given her first-hand experience of those developments. This essay reflected the literary legacy as explored through drama pedagogy. Using the ‘Rolling Role’ Learning Model invented by UK drama educator, Dorothy Heathcote, applied in the educational contexts, I will contextualise my approach to interdisciplinary education relevant to citizenship and drama education.
