The investigation of the quantum effects in semiconductors by the contact less magneto-optical and microwave methods are presented. Studies of the dependence of the optical and microwave Shubnikov-de Haas effect (SdH), cyclotron resonance, nonlinear spin resonance on magnetic field have been carried out to determine the transport and energetic parameters in semiconductors such InSb, CdxHg1-xTe and two-dimensional systems (2DS) such GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs in the observation of this effect in the transmission and reflectivity of the probing radiation. The nonlinear spin resonance raised in n-InSb due to stimulated combinational light scattering method (LSCS) with the signal amplification is considered.

Distribution of electrical field over the lateral surface of MW irradiator for intracavitary treatment is considered. The irradiator consists of parallel slots on the lateral surface of a cylindrical probe. It is shown that the field is uniform along the slot and rapidly decreases beyond the slot. Peaks of the field strength are observed just above the slots in the direction across the slots (along the generatrix of the cylinder). To increase the field uniformity in the direction across the irradiator it is recommended to increase the number of slots and, if possible, the slot's width.

Original design of a broadband digital phase shifter based on switching between transmission lines with positive and negative dispersion is presented. A simple approach to design phase shifters with the operational bandwidth, which can be extended to one octave regarding both the phase shift and the input matching, is considered. Artificial transmission line with the negative dispersion was implemented as quasi-lumped-element coplanar structure using a multilayer technology. The simulated and measured performance of the 180° phase shifter is presented.

This paper presents the research on a novel miniaturized printed log-periodic antenna with fractal tree structure for operation in a broadband of 0.4 GHz-2GHz. The antenna is designed and simulated with the application of CST MICROWAVE STUDIO®software based on the Finite Integral Method. The simulation results show that the antenna achieves the necessary lateral size reduction to 61% of the normal log-periodic antenna, while keeping its radiation characteristics nearly constant.
