A new series of compounds - alkylaminomethylthio- and dithiobenzoates - has been synthesized. It has been established that the introduction of an alkylaminomethyl group into a molecule of thiobenzoates improves their anticorrosion properties, while the antiwear and antiscuff properties hardly change in this case. The presence of an alkylaminomethyl group in dithiobenzoates promotes an improvement in their anticorrosion and antiscuff properties.

Liquid catalyzate containing thiophene has been obtained from the gas formed in semicoking of kukersite shale by means of heterocyclization over an alumina-chromium-lanthanum lanthanum oxide catalyst. The thiophene concentration in the catalyzate is 1.5–2 times higher than in industrial byproduct coking thiophene concentrate. At the same a reduction in the hydrogen sulphide content of the semicoking gas from 9–12% to 0·5 vol.% or less has been obtained.
