Two new power BCD (Bipolar-CMOS DMOS) integrated circuits designed for HID lamp ballast systems in an automotive environment are described. The first is an analog controller and switchmode power supply driver implemented in a 60 V process, while the latter is a full bridge driver implemented in a 500 V process (offline BCD). These devices have been used in a HID lamp ballast, and the complete system is described.

Electro-thermal simulation of dynamic circuits in the time domain 时域动态电路的电热仿真

It is well known that design and circuit simulation of electric circuits have to thermal effects into account. In this paper, the authors present an approach based on an equivalent thermal network for the determination of the transient electro-thermal solutions. They propose an algorithm for the time domain electro-thermal simulation that solves the convergence and stability problems typical of this analysis. Furthermore, an original estimation of the numerical errors based on the evaluation and balance of energy delivered by devices is shown.

Effect of PWM pulse number on matrix converter characteristics PWM脉冲数对矩阵变换器特性的影响

In the previous paper, we proposed a new control method and a new VVVF on-line gate circuit for a matrix converter, which ensured sinusoidal input currents and sinusoidal output voltages even in the case of sudden change in input voltage or frequency. This paper discusses the effects of PWM pulse number on the characteristics of a matrix converter, especially on input and output distortion characteristics, under the new control method. Odd triangular pulse number in 60 degrees of the supply voltage is suggested in this paper because of its better distortion factor and less commutation losses.

Power electronics and electromagnetic compatibility 电力电子和电磁兼容性

Recently, power electronics has become the dominant factor in the deterioration of the electromagnetic environment, causing declining quality of line power and increasing level of conducted EMI. This paper reviews the fundamentals of EMC in power electronics, including the terminology and categories of EMC, the propagation and generation of low-frequency and high-frequency disturbances, and the various agency regulations. The paper also points out the difficulty of achieving compliance with line-harmonics norms using active solutions while maintaining low conducted EMI and low cost.

A new family of soft switching, unity power factor converters with high input power factor and isolated output is presented. A feature of the converters is a significant reduction of conducted EMI. Six converter topologies have been identified that share a zero voltage switching phase arm on the input boost converter stage. Detailed analysis and experimental results are presented on the double ZVS phase arm, resonant transition converter, which is operated at constant switching frequency.

An active auxiliary commutation circuit for inverters 一种用于逆变器的有源辅助整流电路

This paper proposes an active auxiliary commutation circuit (AACC) to achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) in DC-AC power converters. The switching strategy implemented and the AACC make it possible for these power converters to operate with soft commutation of their main switches from no load up to full load, without increasing their voltage or current ratings. Due to commutation under zero voltage conditions, the main switches are implemented as a dual thyristor. The RMS current value carried by auxiliary switches is very low. To verify the feasibility of the proposed AACC, it is applied to a half-bridge inverter. Operation principle, commutation analysis, switching strategy and features are described and verified experimentally. These results have been obtained from a laboratory prototype operating at 30 kHz and rated at 300 W.

Both, experimental and simulation techniques are used to investigate the series connection of IGBTs. An experimental setup with a power rating of 4.8 kV and 600 A is established. Circuit simulations are performed using physics-based models for the IGBT and the freewheeling diode. Experimental and calculated characteristics agree very well.

Analysis of an overload-protected current-feedback magnetic multivibrator 过载保护电流反馈磁多谐振荡器的分析

A detailed analysis is presented of our original overload-protected current-feedback magnetic multivibrator. Since current-feedback magnetic multivibrators are highly efficient and are suitable for high-frequency operation, they are widely used as power sources for electronic equipment. Unlike voltage-feedback multivibrators, however, their circuits have no ability to protect themselves from overloading. We therefore proposed a new current-feedback multivibrator with overload protection. In this paper, the conditions for cessation of oscillation are derived by using our model of bipolar junction transistors. This model takes account of power dissipation, because the common-emitter static forward current transfer ratio depends on the collector current and the junction temperature.

An artificial neural network position estimator for a variable reluctance linear actuator 变磁阻线性执行器的人工神经网络位置估计

A neural network approach to the position estimation problem for a variable reluctance linear actuator is investigated. The inputs of the neural network are current ripple measurements and the switching pattern of the power converter. The neural network approach allows to account for iron saturation and iron losses effects resulting in an accurate position estimation. Numerical simulations are developed to show the feasibility of the proposed method, as well as the neural robustness. Finally, experimental measurements on a prototype are presented to validate the proposed approach.

Current control of magnetically coupled superconducting coils for nuclear fusion experimental system using H/spl infin/ control scheme 采用H/spl infin/控制方案控制核聚变实验系统磁耦合超导线圈电流

Precise current control within 0.01% accuracy of superconducting coils composing the Large Helical Device (LHD), which is a nuclear fusion experimental system under construction in Japan, is needed under the condition with strong mutual coupling between coils and some disturbances such as plasma, vacuum vessel etc. Application of the H/spl infin/ control scheme with a two-degree-of-freedom controller was studied. Good control results were obtained from the experimental model system with two superconducting coils. Simulation results with the LHD's circuit parameters show the possibility of successful control results.

Chik","doi":"10.1109/PESC.1996.548719","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/PESC.1996.548719","url":null,"abstract":"Precise current control within 0.01% accuracy of superconducting coils composing the Large Helical Device (LHD), which is a nuclear fusion experimental system under construction in Japan, is needed under the condition with strong mutual coupling between coils and some disturbances such as plasma, vacuum vessel etc. Application of the H/spl infin/ control scheme with a two-degree-of-freedom controller was studied. Good control results were obtained from the experimental model system with two superconducting coils.
