Improved control techniques for IPM motor drives on vehicle application 改进的IPM电机驱动控制技术在车辆中的应用

The interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor has been popular in both hybrid and fuel cell electric vehicles due to its high efficiency, high torque density and low phase current. Automobiles require both a wide speed range and low power consumption. Peak torque per ampere, regenerative braking and constant power range are critical to maximizing overall vehicle efficiency. Improved control techniques show better performance for vehicle application (limited power source, rapid response of speed and torque). During flux-weakening, a bottom line of maximum torque current is set and controlled. For smooth torque control, flux current is regulated by torque current rather than torque.

The modeling of planar multi-cell integrated reactive components based on multi-conductor generalized transmission structure theory 基于多导体广义传输结构理论的平面多单元集成无功元件建模

This paper presents the impedance modeling of multi-cell integrated passives based on the generalized multiconductor transmission structure theory. Modal analysis is used to solve the matrix equations. The MATLAB simulation results correlate well with the measurement results.

Thermal analysis of thermal spreaders used in power electronics cooling 电力电子冷却用散热器的热分析

Currently the thermal losses of power electronic devices like IGBTs are increasing. At the same time, their sizes are decreasing. Consequently heat sinks have to dissipate very large heat flux densities. Therefore the thermal environment is a main issue in their performance and reliability. In order to improve heat transfers, materials with high thermal conductivity seem very interesting. Because they are expensive, we propose to replace them with heat pipes. Firstly an experimental study is described in order to show the interests of heat pipes in power electronics cooling. Then thermal simulations on copper/water and silicon/water heat pipes are provided. Thanks to them, heat spreaders made with heat pipes and heat spreaders made with plain material are compared. A 40% decrease of the thermal resistance between the heat source and the ambient is expected.

Effect of resonance of a water droplet located on a hydrophobic sheet on AC flashover 疏水片上水滴共振对交流闪络的影响

A water droplet on the hydrophobic sheet subjected by a tangential AC electric field manifests resonant vibration at a definite frequency for a given volume of the water droplet. The effect of resonance vibration on flashover via a water droplet was investigated experimentally, using two kinds of hydrophobic materials, silicone rubber (SR) and PTFE sheet. AC flashover voltage with resonance frequency via a 30 /spl mu/l water droplet was much lower than that with a frequency of 50 Hz. This is due to the extension of the water droplet The decrease of the flashover voltage depends on the kind of materials. Since a water droplet on the PTFE sheet tends to slide more easily than that on the SR sheet, the flashover voltage via the water droplet on the PTFE sheet is much lower than that on the SR sheet.

Thermal component models for electro thermal analysis of multichip power modules 用于多芯片电源模块电热分析的热元件模型

Thermal component models are developed for multi-chip of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) power electronic modules (PEM) and associated high-power converter heat sinks. The models are implemented in SABER and are combined with the electro-thermal IGBT and diode models to simulate the electro-thermal performance of high power converter systems. The thermal component models are parameterized in terms of structural and material parameters so that they can be readily used to develop a library of component models for the various commercially available power modules. The paper presents model development and implementation in SABER, simulation results, and validation using experimental data.

Scattering lights and inclination of filamentary particle in electrostatic sorting system 静电分选系统中丝状颗粒的散射光和倾斜

We have investigated an electrostatic sorting system based on the mechanism of a cell sorter system. Particles dispersed in liquid are carried by the flow and ejected from a nozzle one by one, being kept inside the liquid column. A laser beam illuminates the liquid column just below the nozzle. When a particle is passing by there, the scattering light is produced and detected by two photomultipliers (PMTs). A computer analyzes the scattered light intensities and classifies the particle by size or its shape. The particle is flowing down to the breaking point of the liquid column, where an electrode is put close to the liquid column end. When the particle reaches this point, a pulsed voltage is applied to the electrode to make a charged droplet with the particle. This charged droplet with the particle is deflected in the uniform electric field and collected separately. As for the spherical particles it has been confirmed the particles of 5-33 /spl mu/m diameter can be sorted by size with up to 90% efficiency. For filamentary particles, it has been revealed experimentally that the scattered lights detected by two PMTs are not generated at the same time. It suggests that the time difference between two scattered light pulses is related to the particle length. In this report the particles inside the liquid column are observed by means of a video microscopic system and a single flash light, those results are combined with the scattered light patterns. The relation between the particle length and the the time difference of two scattered lights has been confirmed. The change of the inclination of a filamentary particle during flowing down the liquid column is also observed. The deformation of the liquid column due to the particle has been examined to improve the sorting efficiency.

Dimming in metal-halide and HPS lamps operating at HF: effects and modeling 在HF下工作的金属卤化物和HPS灯的调光:效果和建模

Dimming application in high intensity discharge (HID) lamps can affect several lamp parameters such as: lamp life, power factor, color temperature, discharge arc path, among other effects. With the purpose of analyzing the dimming in HID Lamps, a comparative analysis of dimming effects in metal halide and high pressure sodium (HPS) lamps is presented in this paper. With this purpose, several lamps were characterized and electrical models were developed for their simulation in PSpice.

Market demand and manufacturer innovations have led to improved surge protective device (SPD) design and features. New fusing techniques and advancements in metal oxide varistors (MOVs) provide a more comprehensive design, which results in a safer and more reliable SPD that improves overall system integrity. Adding new integral thermal protection in series with individually fused MOVs provides protection against low fault current (high impedance fault), while preserving high surge current protection. When applied using IEEE's recommended cascaded approach for coordinated, facility-wide protection, integrated SPDs offer the best solution for a safe and reliable surge suppression system.

In order to find the conditions that would provide the best Faraday cage penetration, two powders (acrylic and epoxy) corona and tribo charged, were sprayed inside aluminum panels bent at varying angles (15, 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees) in the direction of flow. The electrical field lines were simulated using Lorentz 2D software and the electrical field intensities generated by the powder clouds were calculated based on the net Q/M and the charge density of the powder cloud. A novel charger was developed that charges the two powders highly bipolarly with a net Q/M close to zero. A powder cloud with such characteristics was proved to have a much better Faraday cage penetration, compared with the classical corona or tribo charging processes.

Current zero cross detection-based position sensorless control of synchronous reluctance motors 基于电流零交叉检测的同步磁阻电机无位置传感器控制

This paper presents a novel position sensorless control method of synchronous reluctance motors (SynRM) for low cost variable speed drives in automotive applications. In the proposed scheme, the controller outputs the voltage RMS value and its lead angle as a pair of control commands which realizes the maximum torque/ampere ratio operation of the motor for the given operating conditions. The proposed method is focused on an error between the detected power factor angle at current zero cross point in the controller and the experimentally modeled power factor angle. For the above position estimation algorithm, it is analytically cleared that SynRM have a helpful behavior contributing for the stability improvement of the position sensorless control. The experimental studies using 4-pole SynRM with multi-flux barrier rotor show that the proposed scheme realizes the stable sensorless control for the variable speed operation including starting.
