ABATEMENT OF HARMFUL CARBON MONOXIDE OVER THE NICKLE DOPED CO3 O4 CATALYST 在镍掺杂的co3o4催化剂上减少有害的一氧化碳

This work aimed at evaluating the effect of nickle (Ni) dopant on the catalytic performance of Co3 O4 catalyst for abatement of harmful carbon monoxide (CO), a resistance toward sintering and durability of catalytic activity were also pursued. Choose the Co(NO3 )2 ×6H2 O(aq) as precursor and NaOH as precipitant to prepare cobalt oxide (Co3 O4 ) with precipitation method, then calcined at 300 and 500 °C, separately (named as C3 and C5). The Ni dopant (0.1 ~ 5 wt%) was added by deposited precipitation through Ni(NO3)2 ×6H2 O(aq) with drop wisely added NaOH(aq) into suspended Co3 O4 solution, then put the NaOCl for oxidation to obtain series 0.1%Ni-Co3 O4 , 0.2%Ni-Co3 O4 , 1%Ni-Co3 O4 and 5%Ni-Co3 O4 catalysts. All catalysts were characterized through BET, XRD, TEM/SEM, Raman, ICP and TPR instruments, and evaluated the catalytic performance of CO oxidation with a self-devised fluidized micro-reactor. It was observed that the calcination temperature and loading of dopant remarkably influenced the physicochemical characteristics and catalytic performance of the catalysts. Preferential catalyst was obtained for calcination at 300 °C and loading of Ni dopant below 1%. The doping of Ni on the surface of Co3 O4 enhanced the performance due to the inducing of synergistic effect between Co3 O4 and NiO, while the excessive NiO incorporated to the surface constrained the activity due to the abundant NiO on the surface, overlaying the active sites caused the decreasing of surface area and reducible capacity. Among these series Ni-Co3 O4 catalysts, the 0.2%Ni-Co3 O4 (C3) catalyst behaved an eminent activity with T50 of 98 °C and durability without apparent deactivation for 50 hr reaction at 125 °C. The excellent performance is primarily attributed to the synergistic effect and formation of NiCo2 O4 composite oxide.

WEED DYNAMICS AND PRODUCTIVITY OF CHICKPEA AS AFFECTED BY WEED MANAGEMENT PRACTICES 杂草管理措施对鹰嘴豆杂草动态和生产力的影响

Rabi pulses are typically cultivated on marginal cropland with little maintenance. Weed growth has greater space to grow during the initial slow vegetative phase of crop. Crop weed competition results in resource distribution, which significantly reduces crop yield. To understand the effect of different weed management practices on weed dynamics and productivity of chickpea, a field experiment was conducted at Forestry Research Farm, Department of Forestry, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur (MP) during the Rabi season of 2020-21. The field experiment was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with nine treatments and replicated thrice. Nine treatments were pendimethalin at 1000 g/ha, atrazine at 1000 g/ha, oxyflorfen at 100 g/ha, imazethapyr at 900 g/ha, pendimethalin at 500 g/ha + oxyflorfen at 50 g/ha, pendimethalin at 500 g/ha + imazethapyr at 450 g/ha, imazethapyr at 450 g/ha + atrazine at 500 g/ha, including hand weeding at 30 DAS and weedy check. The broad-leaf weeds, Medicago denticulate, Chenopodium album, Vicia sativa (L.) and Anagallis arvensis (L.) were dominant. In the case of grassy weeds, Cyperus rotundus (L.), Cynodon dactylon (Pers.) and Avena fatua (L.) are dominant weeds. Significant reduction in total weed density and dry weight was recorded under the application of pendimethalin at 500 g/ha + imazethapyr at 450 g/ha. In comparison, high values of growth parameters and seed yield were recorded with the application of pendimethalin at 1000 g/ha.

EFFECT OF FLY ASH, LIME AND CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS ON SOIL PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES AND GROWTH OF LENTIL 粉煤灰、石灰和化肥对土壤理化性质及小扁豆生长的影响

Fly ash (FA), a byproduct of coal combustion in thermal power plants, has been considered as a problematic solid waste and its safe disposal is a cause of concern. Several studies proposed that FA can be used as a soil additive; however, its effect on physico chemical properties of soil and growth of lentil (cv. Malviya Viswanath) to fly ash (FA) application in conjunction with lime and chemical fertilizers was studied in a pot experiment during winter 2020 in acid soil of Rajgarh block. Application of fly ash at higher dose in combination with lime amended the acidic condition of soil, whereas increased the salt concentration in soil. At higher level, when fly ash was applied to soil, it improved the physical properties of soil but declined the organic carbon content in soil. The application of fly ash @ 80% FD in conjunction with lime @ 20%LD and 100% RDF was more beneficial for the growth performance of lentil than the unamended soil

Water is the most significant in forming the land and directing the atmosphere. It is one of the most significant aggravates that significantly impacts life. The nature of water typically portrayed by its physical nature, contents and organic attributes. Fast industrialization and unpredictable utilization of composts and pesticides in agriculture are causing substantial contamination in degrading water quality. Because of utilization of tainted water, human populace experiences water borne infections. The quality parameters of water resources in north Talod taluka have been evaluated.

Agrochemicals used continuously to control weeds and insect pests have a major negative impact on the environment and human health. There is an inadequate amount of training, education, awareness, and information available to farmers in developing nations on the use of chemicals. Farmers utilize harmful pesticides in their fields in an improper manner and quantity, which results in a wide range of human a ilments. The length of time that people are exposed to agrochemicals, the type of agrochemicals used, and many environmental factors all have an impact on how well they are able to maintain their health. There are large concentrations of these substances in the earth, the air, the water, and human bodies. To minimize these hazardous effects many countries are bending towards organic farming and sustainable agriculture.

Large material productivity results in the addition of unwanted substances into the environment, which are potentially harmful to living things. The chemical industry’s contribution to human welfare is evident in the wide range of chemicals used in drugs, cosmetics, plastics, synthetic fibres, paints, cleansing agents and many other kinds of consumer products. Major effluents such as antibiotics, radioactive substances, drugs, and heavy metals which are carcinogenic, mutagenic, and teratogenic, finish up in the environment. Heavy metals are accumulated with time in the soils and plants. These heavy metals could turn up with a negative impact on the physiological activities of the plants. Contaminants sourced from the air, soil, water etc. result in the accumulation of heavy metals in the environment. The effect of heavy metals on the environment is reviewed in this paper.

CORROSION INHIBITION EFFECT OF EXTRACTS LEAVES OF MOMORDICA DIOCIA FOR IRON IN ACID MEDIA 苦瓜叶提取物在酸性介质中对铁的缓蚀作用

Strict environmental legislations and increasing ecological awareness among scientists have led to the development of “green” alternatives to mitigate corrosion. In the present work, literature on green corrosion inhibitors has been reviewed, and the salient features of our work on green corrosion inhibitors have been highlighted. Among the studied leaves, extract Andrographis paniculata showed better inhibition performance (98%) than the other leaves extract. Strychnosnuxvomica showed better inhibition (98%) than the other seed extracts. Moringa oleifera is reflected as a good corrosion inhibitor of mild steel in 1 M HCl with 98% inhibition efficiency among the studied fruits extract. Bacopa monnieri showed its maximum inhibition performance to be 95% at 600 ppm among the investigated stem extracts. All the reported plant extracts were found to inhibit the corrosion of mild steel in acid media.

The article defines the role of organic agricultural production in the system of the agrarian complex. The impact of agriculture on ecology is characterized. It was determined that the greening of agriculture becomes a priority point in the system of modernization of environmental security. The authors present that the latest technologies make it possible to effectively cultivate agricultural land, and the main place among the innovations of agricultural production is occupied by agricultural works, which are provided by automated systems and unmanned equipment. The article highlights environmental problems arising as a result of human economic activity to ensure one’s own food security and presents alternative methods of farming. The crucial role of organic production is defined and the main methods of organic agriculture are presented. The authors researched the dynamics of the area of agricultural land used for organic production and operators of organic production. The main environmental criteria of organic agricultural production, projects and programs that provide assistance in the field of organic production, circulation and labeling of organic products are presented.

The specific activity of natural radionuclides were measured by gamma ray spectrometry with NaI(Tl) detector in the mining waste soil samples collected from Simberi gold mine in New Ireland province of Papua New Guinea. The isotope concentrations of 238U and 232Th in Simberi soil samples are 10.7 and 41.3 ppm respectively whereas the world average values are 2.64 and 11.1 ppm respectively. The average Radium equivalent activity in Simberi samples is 372.2±81.4 Bq/kg which is observed to be higher than the threshold safe value of 370 Bq/kg. The average internal hazard index for Simberi samples is found to be 1.4 which is higher than the maximum permissible value of 1.0. The Excess Lifetime Cancer Risk (ELCR) is calculated to be 0.00553±0.00122 in Simberi whereas the world average value is 0.00145. Radiation in Simberi is found to be higher which may be because Simberi is situated in the volcanic region of Papua New Guinea

INFLUENCE OF INVASIVE PLANT SPECIES ON SOIL PROPERTIES IN TROPICAL RIPARIAN ZONES 入侵植物对热带河岸带土壤性质的影响

Riparian zones are highly productive biodiversity-rich transition areas. However, the invasion of exotic plant species depletes diversity and productivity, a severe global environmental concern as they alter ecosystem services. The analysis of spatio-temporal variations of soil nutrients in an invasive plant-impacted riparian zone is significant. This study was conducted in the riparian zones of a tropical river basin, Vamanapuram river basin (VRB), Southern Western Ghats, India, to analyse soil samples (total n= 60) from invaded (VR) and uninvaded (Control) areas for pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Organic Carbon (OC), available nitrogen (AN), available phosphorus (AP), and available potassium (AK). In general, comparing the invaded and control sites, changes were noticed in almost all the above physico-chemical parameters (except OC) at a significant level with high values in invaded soil sites mainly due to invasion. However, more studies are needed to differentiate the impacts within the system for a better understanding of invasive plant-soil interactions.
