Cloud computing is the current significant technology trend because of its potential to reduce the cost and increase the productivity. Virtualization is the key enabling technology in cloud computing which maximizes the utilizations of resources to provide the service. Multimedia application over cloud computing has its quality of service (QoS) requirements such as bandwidth and delay. The provision of QoS is challenging in cloud computing environment because of the virtual platforms. This paper proposed an architecture of private cloud for media computing. It addresses the QoS provision mechanisms at the virtualized infrastructure. The paper also presents an example of a low-cost virtualized video streaming server on VMware.

We consider a continuous review production-inventory system with price shift and setup cost, which is controlled by a (s,s',S) policy. Unsatisfied demand is lost. When the machine is on, the inventory can be sold at two different prices. While the machine is off, the inventory only can be sold at the high price. We show the method to find the optimal (s,s',S) control policy for this system and develop an efficient algorithm to compute the optimal control parameters.

This paper studies the two-period pricing model considering customers' reference prices. We assume that customers respond to the current price of a product by comparing it to the past prices and this response will lead to reference effect. By solving a two-stage dynamic programming problem, we provide the optimal price policy for the seller. The numerical example shows that the optimal price for either period and the gross profit are decreasing with the increase of the price elasticity, reference effect factor and memory parameter. But they are decreasing with the decrease of the discount factor. We also make a comparison between optimal pricing strategy and myopic pricing strategy. The results show that long-term decision is superior to myopic strategy while customers' reference effect is taken into account during pricing-decision processes.

Method of gain firing data by calculate the group of differential equation has the advantages of high repeatability and high accuracy, But much of the CPU time is occupied by the task of re-iteration in computational processing. Therefore, it is not the real time processing. This paper introduces a method to quickly determine angle of firing by iteration method, which realizes Runge-Kutta method for the equations of exterior ballistic according to the model of mass center motion of projectile. Moreover, it also provides the flow of real-time integral solution and be proved by the simulation of MATLAB. Its accuracy satisfies the requirements. This work can be as reference for the design of opt-electrical fire control system and the demonstration work.

In order to improve the campus securities and obtain the personnel information, and campus access control system is developed and introduced in this paper. TCP/IP, PPP, HTTP, HTML, POP3 and SMTP are used to constitute the basic network and transport layer to transmit real-time access information. The real-time access information is input by Network Connection Element (NCE) like radio frequency devices, surveillance camera devices, computers and routers. It's better to guarantee the safety of data storage and access when using ODBC to build the data source and using ADO to visit and manipulate database. Using the IE to enter in the system can be convenient for users. The personnel study or work in the campus can use the RFID card to passing in or out the campus smoothly. The application system only used the existing campus RFID card and need not any extra investment.

This paper firstly analyzes the theory of information visualization, and then based on the interface of Google Map proposing a way to convert text news to graphic news. Focusing on the location of each pieces of news, this web service may give a brief way for the audience to acquire today's or this hour's news (decided by the editor) separately with a virtual world map and provide the news media a useful functionality for their readers. After that, a practical demo is used to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

Handheld devices have been widely applied in various areas. However, we want to have a new handheld terminal which is easier to use than current handheld device and to improve the performance of the terminal. This research tries to propose an embedded distributed remote monitoring system. In particular, the paper focuses on the design and realization of the embedded handheld data acquisition terminal, namely the distributed remote monitoring system's lower computer terminal. The hardware architecture and circuit of the handheld data acquisition terminal are revealed in detail. Then, the cross-compiler environment and HMI application program for graphical user interface based on Qt/Embedded are established and developed successfully. At last, the result of experimental test proves that the handheld terminal can be working stably and continuously. Further enhancement to the proposed embedded handheld data acquisition terminal is undertaking.
