The results of experimental studies to determine the influence of the parameters of reversible surface plastic deformation on the parameters of the surface waviness of cylindrical parts made of steel 45, are presented. The proposed method implemen-tation for finishing and hardening treatment requires the development of a device for the formation of a reversing circular motion of the working tool. On completion of experimental studies using the PyCharm computer program and Python pro-gramming language, optimal modes of simplification were determined, providing the lowest waviness height.

A mathematical model describing the law of contact gliding friction, taking into account changes in the sliding contact states, is proposed for consideration. The generalization of classical linear models of contact friction is carried out by putting in more additive components allowing for new state transitions of frictional interaction. The developed mathematical model makes it possible to give analytic description of the schematic diagram of classical slip coefficient change depending on the load of B.I. The possibility of obtaining sialon in the SHS-Az mode (self-propagating high-temperature synthesis using sodium azide) from the systems "silicon dioxide – sodium azide – aluminum halogenide – silicon" is viewed. The phase composition and combustion products are analyzed and the average particle size is determined. It was found that particles of a combustion product were combined into agglomerates. The average size of plate-like particles was 300...350 nm, and equiaxed particles – 120...170 nm.

Computer simulation of technological parameters in the milling process of polycarbonate workpieces under various processing modes is realized. The parameters are recorded at various points in the contact time of the milling cutter tooth with the workpiece. The regularities of changes in the parameters of the milling process, including forces and temperatures in the contact zones of the facing with the cutter tooth or in case of tooth contact with the workpiece, depending on the elements of the milling mode, are found. It’s also found that the temperatures in the contact zone of the tooth with the workpiece are higher than in the contact zone of the tooth with the facing. The pattern of temperature distribution in the surface layer of the workpiece is distilled. Mathematical dependences describing the relationship of temperatures with the elements of the milling mode, are obtained

The elasticity of the hardened layer under pendulum surface plastic deformation is determined. Calculations are given using computer modeling Ansys 19.1 to estimate the influence of the main technological parameters and modes of pendulum SPD (Surface plastic deformation) by the amount of metal rate of upward gradient, which makes it possible to establish the actual amount of tension and ensure the accuracy of the diametrical dimensions of the hardened parts. The dependence of the elastic rise of the hardened layer on the physical and mechanical properties of the material is given.

According to the level of the measurement scale, the friction force changes its nature and is determined by different depend-encies. The paper views a procedure for determining a friction force molecular component based on the evaluation of specif-ic shearing resistance of molecular links un-der the elastic interaction of a silicon nitride cantilever needle having a steel sample, used for scanning a section of a sample surface in the nanometer range with an atomic force microscope (AFM) «FemtoScan» under low loads. A sensitive element (measuring device) of an atomic force microscope acts as a force sensor for measuring both: a normal load very roughly, and a change in the force, applied to the cantilever under known stiffness, including the value of the cantilever rod form alteration. It also changes the load on the sensitive element (to assess the mo-lecular component of the friction force, the route of the «smoothest» surface itself was chosen). The paper also provides an analytical assessment of the contact interaction parameters of a cantilever needle in a nano-scale, rep-resented as a spheri-cal indenter, with an elastic half-space as a surface under study, based on the Hertz theory. Analysis of the calculation and experiment data on measuring the resistance force of the indenter during scanning of the surface under study, showed good convergence of the results with a deviation of even values from the experimental data of no more than 7,5 %. Calculations using the established formulas showed that with an increase in the load on the contact at the nanoscale, the coefficient of friction decreases due to a faster growth of contact spots in the elastic state (provided that angularity of inequalities related to sub-roughness remains constant), which was also confirmed in the course of the experiment.
