Performance evaluation of cheating host in ALM over wireless multi-hop networks 无线多跳网络中ALM欺骗主机性能评估

ALM (Application Level Multicast) is one of the promising ways for resolving multicast incentive problem of non-multicast hosts not implementing multicast routing protocol. ALM protocol is implemented in application layer, which means it is easier to be altered by end users than lower layer protocols. Malicious users would like to get higher position in ALM tree because it can obtain higher throughput and lower delay. They also would not like other hosts to be connected because of forwarding burden will bring them wireless throughput degradation. This paper evaluates performance improvement perceived by a malicious user and shows that surprisingly it can obtain performance improvement only with almost 50% probability. We also investigate the reason why this performance effect and show that link sharing with other ALM hosts in long hops is one of the reasons of performance degradation of malicious users.

A novel multi-radio packet scheduling algorithm for real-time traffic on generic link layer 一种新的通用链路层实时流量多无线分组调度算法

In this paper, a novel multi-radio packet scheduling algorithm, QU, is proposed for real-time traffic on generic link layer (GLL). First, a scheduling-utility function is designed to represent the utility of scheduling a packet to a radio access with the goal to guarantee QoS and improve spectrum utilization. Second, using this utility function, a multi-radio packet scheduling model is presented based on joint consideration of QoS, fairness and spectrum efficiency, while the solution for this model is NP problem; Finally, Hopfield neural network (HNN) is used to fast and efficiently find an optimal solution for the scheduling model. Simulation results show that, compared with M-LWDF and PLR algorithms, QU algorithm has lower packet loss ratio and higher spectrum efficiency while could meet the allowable maximum delay requirement.

Error probability analysis of OFDM systems with ICI self-cancellation over AWGN and Rayleigh flat-fading channels AWGN和瑞利平衰落信道上ICI自抵消OFDM系统的误差概率分析

Self-cancellation schemes have received a lot of attention due to their simple implementation and high efficiency to suppress intercarrier interference (ICI) in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Among those ICI self-cancellation methods, Symmetric Conjugate Symbol Repetition (SCSR) has been proven to have the best bit error ratio (BER) performance for phase noise suppression. In this paper, we investigate the performance of OFDM systems with SCSR ICI self-cancellation in the presence of both phase noise (PHN) and carrier frequency offset (CFO), and derive analytical expressions to calculate error probability evaluated by symbol error ratio (SER) over AWGN and Rayleigh flat fading channels. An approach of second order approximation of PHN/CFO has been performed to estimate the residual ICI, which could provide more accurate results. Simulation results show perfect agreement with those obtained by theoretical analysis, which could be used to estimate MQAM-OFDM system error probability, facilitating the design of the overall system.

A throughput evaluation for UWB system considering performance of a PHY prototype 考虑物理层原型性能的超宽带系统吞吐量评估

UWB is a short range (up to 10m) wireless communication technology which provides high throughput with low transmission and high reliability. We developed a PHY prototype conformed to ECMA-368, one of UWB standards, and a network simulator for evaluating MAC throughput of ECMA-368. In this paper, we propose an evaluation method considering the characteristic of PHY, the channel model and the propagation loss derived from our PHY prototype. This enables throughput evaluation in various usage models. The evaluation result shows that an application that needed 200 Mbps throughput is available at range up to 2 m. The throughput is enough to transmit a HDTV stream about 50 Mbps up to about 6 m and to transmit two HDTV streams within 3 m.

A preliminary designation of constellation distribution for Mars GNSS 火星GNSS星座分布的初步设计

This article discussed the principles of designation for the constellations configuration of the analogous terrestrial planets' global navigation and positioning, and analyzed an initial configuration example of the Mars Global Navigation Satellite System Constellation. Also, the method to assess the optimal constellation design was discussed. This study can give a reference about designing and establishing the Mars navigation satellites constellation system for future.

Optical noise suppression techniques for wavelength-locked Fabry-Perot laser diode 波长锁定法布里-珀罗激光二极管的光噪声抑制技术

We propose optical noise suppression techniques for wavelength-locked Fabry-Perot laser diode (F-P LD) and demonstrate high capacity WDM-PON at 2.5 Gb/s. The noise suppressor located only at the central office enables smooth upgrade of deployed WDM-PON without modification of the outside plant. We also investigate system performance as a function of location of the noise suppressor. The impairment of noise suppressed optical signal will be also addressed.

Performance analysis of VoIP according to relay capability in OFDMA-based systems 基于ofdma系统中继能力的VoIP性能分析

We consider a relay-assisted wireless communication system where relays are given the capability of scheduling function. We evaluate and compare the performances of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) in orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems where two different scheduling capabilities of relays are employed in each system. In the system with relays that have the scheduling capability, channel-resource allocation is not performed efficiently, which results in degraded performance of the system compared to the system with the relays that do not have the scheduling capability as shown in the simulation result.

On supporting VoIP traffic in multi-hop IEEE 802.16 (d) mesh networks 关于在多跳IEEE 802.16 (d)网状网络中支持VoIP业务

The IEEE 802.16(d) mesh mode is proposed for the next generation wireless mesh network. It specifies two mechanisms to schedule data transmission, namely centralized scheduling and distributed scheduling. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of VoIP traffic over an IEEE 802.16(d) mesh network using the distributed scheduling. The problems of the system in supporting voice traffic are identified. To solve these problems, we propose a Cycle-based Scheduling (CBS) as an extension to the original standard to improve the QoS of VoIP traffic whilst increase the channel utilization of the network. Our preliminary simulation results show that CBS can greatly improve the QoS support of the IEEE 802.16(d) mesh mode for VoIP traffic.

This paper presents Heterogeneity Ratio (HR) as a new routing metric for heterogeneous MANETs. This metric is the ratio of number of powerful nodes to hop count that is used to select the best path to destination. Node heterogeneity is modeled in terms of: types and number of different interfaces, power, and transmission ranges. Our proposed routing metric is based on developing route discovery algorithm that is implemented on the top of On-demand Tree-based Routing Protocol (OTRP)[2] to accommodate nodes heterogeneity. Simulation results show that using HR with OTRP Heterogeneity Aware outperforms other metrics like minimal hop count and maximal number of powerful nodes.

In this paper, we address retransmission strategies of the generation-based network coding in the packet network. Our discussion focuses on how to make the retransmission more efficient. We investigate four retransmission strategies, quasi Classical ReTransmission strategy (CRT), Random ReTransmission strategy (RRT), Racket-Loss-Edge-based ReTransmission strategy (PLERT) and Minimum ReTransmission strategy (MRT). The PLERT strategy and the MRT strategies are the main contributions of this paper.
