Fault detection in non-linear systems based on GP-EKF and GP-UKF algorithms 基于GP-EKF和GP-UKF算法的非线性系统故障检测

In this paper, two new fault detection methods are proposed for non-linear systems. The proposed methods are based on combining an extended Kalman filter (EKF) and an unscented Kalman filter (UKF) with Gaussian processes (GPs). One of the major advantages of these algorithms is that they do not need the system's model while they have an accurate and fast operation in fault detection. In order to show the promising performance of the proposed algorithms, they are applied to an aeroplane tracking system with a highly non-linear dynamics. Superiority of the GP-UKF over GP-EKF in fault detection is also shown based on the simulation results.

Modelling of surge phenomena in a centrifugal compressor: experimental analysis for control 离心式压缩机喘振现象的建模:控制的实验分析

Actually, gas transportation in hydrocarbon industries in several countries is based mainly on the use of centrifugal compressors to ensure precise spots under specified conditions. However, these machines are subjected to very serious phenomenon, such as the surge phenomenon, which presents the state of unstable operation that results in pulsations than can be the main cause of certain dangerous mechanical problem. Therefore, to solve this problem, it is necessary to establish a control law which can manage these devices, where the main goal is to obtain the best performance. On the other hand, it is obvious that to achieve this task, the models of this surge phenomenon have to be well determined earlier. This work proposes tests to validate models of the surge phenomenon in a centrifugal compressor set for anti-surge control when the operating mode is in the unstable regime. Real-time tests on the examined gas compression system were used to generate the experimental results. The developed surge model could better control the considered system.

Convergence of Internet of things and mobile cloud computing 物联网与移动云计算的融合

As an integral element of future Internet, Internet of things (IoT) could be described as a real-world interaction with everything connected via intelligent network infrastructure and advanced communication technologies. Mobile cloud computing (MCC), on the other hand, offers an infrastructure wherein both data storage and data processing take place outside of the mobile device. As a more mature infrastructure, MCC offers several advantages, while the relatively new IoT has several limitations. In this paper, we present a survey of IoT limitations and MCC advantages. Specifically, we present the most advantageous aspects of MCC and how they alleviate the limitations of IoT. Furthermore, we discuss several IoT-enabled business services to highlight the benefits of converging IoT and MCC.

Permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) are becoming popular in industries due to their fast transient response, high power density and high efficiency. This paper presents rotor field-oriented control of a surface mount permanent magnet synchronous motor drive with a fuzzy logic-based speed controller. A model reference adaptive fuzzy logic controller is utilised in the place of a conventional speed proportional plus integral (PI) controller. Simulation and experimental results are provided to show the applicability of artificial intelligence-based speed control of PMSMs. Results are presented for both conventional PI-based control and proposed adaptive fuzzy logic control and compared. The novelty of the paper lies in the experimental implementation of the adaptive fuzzy logic controller in vector-controlled PMSM drive.

Identification of underdamped process dynamics 欠阻尼过程动力学的识别

This paper presents off-line and on-line identification of underdamped process dynamics in terms of transfer function models. Simple analytical expressions are derived based on the describing function technique. The nonlinear device relay with hysteresis is used to extract process information that help in estimating the unknown process model parameters. Another advantage of relay with hysteresis is that it reduces the effect of measurement noise, which is common in process industries. To further eliminate the ill effects of noise, the Fourier series-based curve fitting technique is employed. Unlike many identification methods that require to solve simultaneously a set of nonlinear equations, the advantage of the proposed method is that the process model parameters are estimated using explicit analytical expressions. The validity and robustness of the proposed method is illustrated with the help of six typical transfer function models from the literature. Results with and without noise are compared using Nyquist's plots.

Neural network and support vector machine predictive control of tert-amyl methyl ether reactive distillation column 叔戊基甲基醚反应精馏塔的神经网络与支持向量机预测控制

An algorithm of model predictive control based on artificial neural network and least-square support vector machine method is presented for a class of industrial process with strong nonlinearity such as tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME). Integral constant is added to improve the performance of the controller. In the present work, two different control methodologies neural network predictive control (NNPC) and support vector machine-based predictive control (SVMPC) are implemented and compared with a conventional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control methodology to a TAME reactive distillation column. The simulation result shows that both NNPC and SVMPC gives better control performance than PID for set-point change as well as for load change of±10% in methanol feed flow rate and molar ratio of methanol to isoamylene in reactor effluent feed.

Energy-efficient gas pipeline transportation 节能燃气管道输送

Gas transportation via long pipelines is considered. Distributed parameter, dynamic modelling with series and shunt energy dissipation and gas stream, equivalent capacitance and inductance effects are proposed. Hybrid analysis techniques, wherein both the distributed and the lumped, concentrated elements of the pipeline system are included in the overall model, are advocated. Constrained optimisation procedures, with the introduction of the Hamiltonian function to minimise the pipeline, inflow–outflow difference, are invoked thereby promoting impedance matching and the energy-efficient transportation of the specified, gas volume flow rate. Illustrative application studies are outlined thereby validating the analytical methods employed and the determination of the optimum, pipeline exit resistance.

Development of safe-driving-system features for elderly drivers 为老年驾驶员开发安全驾驶系统功能

As the overall population ages, elderly drivers will become a larger percentage of the driving population. However, driving-related accidents and injuries associated with elderly drivers are also on the rise. To determine the causes of this trend, we researched existing vehicle systems that use different sensors and signals to promote safe driving. We found that although the systems alert drivers to potential collisions and assist them in finding a location easily, they were not practical enough to protect elderly drivers. For the most part, they were not created by people with driving difficulties caused by health problems, which in turn often afflict the elderly. To address this issue, we analysed the drawbacks of the current systems and used a focus group of people with body conditions that have declined due to age to discover the problems they encounter while driving. With the focus group, we used diverse research activities, such as surveys, observations, and interviews, to demonstrate how new system features (concepts) could be developed for the elderly. Finally, we proposed that adequate system features for the elderly would improve driving safety and provide a more enjoyable driving environment for this population.

However, driving-related accidents and injuries associated with elderly drivers are also on the rise. To determine the causes of this trend, we researched existing vehicle systems that use different sensors and signals to promote safe driving. We found that although the systems alert drivers to potential collisions and assist them in finding a location easily, they were not practical enough to protect elderly drivers. For the most part, they were not created by people with driving difficulties caused by health problems, which in turn often afflict the elderly. To address this issue, we analysed the drawbacks of the current systems and used a focus group of people with body conditions that have declined due to age to discover the problems they encounter while driving. With the focus group, we used diverse research activities, such as surveys, observations, and interviews, to demonstrate how new system features (concepts) could be developed for the elderly. Emitter identification of electronic intelligence system using type-2 fuzzy classifier 基于二类模糊分类器的电子情报系统辐射源识别

Emitter signal recognition is one of the key procedures in signal processing of electronic intelligence (ELINT). In particular, the identification of radar emitters has been important with the advances in radio frequency, electronics and control technologies. Jitter is an unintentional form of modulation that can have a wide variety of sources. Timing-related data errors will occur if jitter is beyond acceptable limits. Designers need a fast and easy way to obtain a complete characterization of clock jitter in the microprocessor controlled. To enhance the ability of specific emitter identification (SEI) to meet the requirement of modern ELINT, a novel identification approach for radar emitter signals based on type-2 fuzzy classifier is presented in this paper. In fuzzy type-2 sets, the uncertainty is represented as an extra dimension. In this article, we show how it is possible to reduce the effect of SEI-induced highly jittered radar emitters in ELINT, with the classifiers of type-1 and type-2 fuzzy logic. This work discusses the impact of unknown jitter sampling on signal estimation. Based on the ELINT feature extraction of radar emitter signals, the type-2 fuzzy classifier is applied to identification of radar emitters effectively. Experiment results shows that the approach can achieve high accurate classification even at higher error deviation level and has good characteristics of identification.
