Calculation of induced sheath voltage for transposed and untransposed cable conductors 转置和非转置电缆导体感应护套电压的计算

In this paper, we studied the power cables used in Berakas Power Management Company Brunei Darussalam (BPMC), with the aim of finding the optimal values of radius of the cables and their phase distance. The electromagnetic coupling effect creates many problems hindering safe operation of cables and produces induced voltages in metallic sheath or shield of cables. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to contribute ways for reducing coupling effect by finding the optimal values of phase distance and radius and also by discovering proper arrangement of the cables. This paper presented a study of the electromagnetic coupling effect in underground power cables by examining induced voltages with the variation in phase distance in metal shield of cables. The study is carried out for both the flat and trefoil formations. Both the transposed and un-transposed conductors are also considered for comparison. It is found that the flat formation with transposition has less induced sheath voltage and there is no effect of transposition on trefoil formation. In addition, we calculated the optimal values of phase distance between cable conductors and the proper arrangement for the cables to minimize the induced voltage in metallic shield for the cables used in BPMC.

Application of systemic design thinking for program management 系统设计思想在项目管理中的应用

In today's fast paced digital world, the business environment is very dynamic. Business strategies are realized using programs as vehicles of transformation. Most of the strategic organizational programs are very large in size and also very complex in nature due to several stakeholders and dimensions involved. Many of the organizational programs fail due to lack of proper framework that outlines integrated methodologies for easy planning, delivery, implementation and governance. The current program management methodologies focused more on execution of strategies using analytical thinking. But the programs are increasingly complex that need a different kind of thinking. The needs of business, the program stakeholders and its managers have to be delved into deeply with systems thinking and design thinking paradigms in order to increase the program success by considering innovative ways. The analytical management methods may help but are not sufficient for success. Hence a systemic approach needs to be taken to overcome the challenges faced by program management professionals. We argue that both traditional analytical thinking that is currently used and the proposed Design thinking are necessary for successful Program management. In order to effectively blend these two types of thinking, a Systems thinking mindset is needed for program management considering program as a system. In this paper we introduce a systemic design thinking methodology for the Program Management after reviewing the literature on Program Management and Design thinking with an emphasis on Systems Thinking. A guiding framework for program management was used in developing the systemic design methodology. A case of a Telecommunication services giant providing operations in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region is illustrated on how Systemic Design thinking methodology was applied for Program Management. This has resulted in many benefits for the organizations making the program successful.

Analysis on the transient of a self-mixing interferometry sensing system 自混合干涉传感系统的瞬态分析

The transient of a self-mixing interferometry (SMI) sensing system is investigated in this paper by solving the well known Lang and Kobayashi (LK) equations. Specifically, the influence of two important system parameters, i.e., the feedback level factor and the linewidth enhancement factor, on the transient is discussed, showing that the decay time and the oscillation period of the transient respectively increases and decreases with the increase of the feedback level factor, and both increase with the increase of linewidth enhancement factor. The results presented in this paper are useful for designing a stable SMI system.

Clustering of protein-protein interaction network using fractal dimension of protein subnetworks 基于蛋白质子网络分形维数的蛋白质-蛋白质相互作用网络聚类

Protein-protein interactions play a vital role in the biological processes of all living organisms. These interactions can be represented as networks, in which a node represents a protein and an edge represents an interaction between a pair of proteins. Clustering of these networks leads to the detection of significant protein complexes. FDPClus, a density based clustering method of these networks using the principles of fractal dimension is proposed here. A modified sand box algorithm is used to find the fractal dimension of protein subnetworks. The F-measure values obtained for the Gavin and Collins data set are 0.48 and 0.63 respectively when compared against the CYC2008 yeast benchmark protein complex set. The proposed method shows better performance than other existing methods such as DPClus, MCODE, RNSC, CORE and MCL. Hence it demonstrates the usefulness of fractal dimension of protein subnetworks in the clustering of Protein-Protein Interaction (PPI) networks.

A real time urban flood monitoring system for metro Manila 马尼拉大都会的实时城市洪水监测系统

A real time urban flood monitoring system was deployed into two streets (Earnshaw and San Diego Streets) on España Boulevard, Manila. The system consists of a ground-based pressure sensor and a rain gauge connected to a locally designed data logger with telemetry capabilites using GPRS network. Data from the stations are received by a TCP server and is processed in order to provide visual information and realtime flood updates through mobile and web services. An ahead of time flood estimation system was implemented using a Random Forest algorithm in order to provide an early warning advisory to motorist and users of the system. Results from the test validation show that the resulting prediction model indicates a strong predictive performance without relying on rainfall-runoff model obtained through geological and hydrological surveys.
